    The fact that you have to unscrew and take it appart to clean it... if I knew before, I would have bought another brand.

    There are cables that connect the lid to the cooker. The cooker u are working on doesn't seem to have them. How does your lid pop off completely without cables? I think this one was already disassembled and cables already removed

      Hi, I have the same issue. Did u figure it out how to remove the cable without messing it up?

    • @chinoz4102
      @chinoz4102 Місяць тому

      @@onix_2212 No. I tried take the lid apart but the cables are not long enough to be able to work. I ended up buying the same rice cooker for under $40 to avoid de headache. I think it's a bad design, those cables will inevitably break from normal use. Good luck

    Greetings and a million thanks for posting this. I have the Aroma Professional Plus (ARC-5000SB), which is slightly different in that there is a pair of wires that goes from the electronics at the bottom to the lid. So, while removing the lid's screw as you do here works exactly as such, for my model you still have to remove the bottom in order to disconnect those wires from the board. Nonetheless, your instructions were spot on and extremely helpful. For one, it would have taken me forever to find the screw under the silver label. Wish the piece under the lid was removable; seems so likely to get dirty (an overnight bean soup did that for me). Oh!... and loved the editorial comments and questions from your daughter! Again, thanks!

    Thanks for the instructive video. I recall you mentioning that your rice cooker "stank." In my case, I get the feeling that anything I cook with mine takes on a peculiar taste. I have yet to clean in and noticed a lot of "sludge" collected behind the transparent plastic. Have you experienced anything similar, where the food cooked absorbs some kind of flavor due to being cooked in one of these? Also, if you take a look at the lid after popping out that plastic diffuser (sticking down on the inside of the lid, when the lid is closed), you notice that it is hollowed out -- meaning, anything that foamed up while it was cooking may have entered that cavity as well (from there it goes into that overflow compartment next to the hinge). You can't really get to that hollow space inside the lid, but it's probably still a good idea to clean. Any thoughts on what to use? I've been thinking about what I could use that might clean the compartment as part of the cooking process (e.g. adding it to water, then running the steamer for a while). Vinegar was the first thing that came to mind, but apparently that produces toxic fumes, so you have to be careful (i.e. dilute with a lot of water, then open nearby windows and step away).

      the smell came from the rice porridge that over flooded into the bottom part, it was wet first then became stinky with warm temp, other than that it was ok. my lid is also easy to clean, nothing really goes inside of it :)

    Thank you. I have an Aroma arc-838tc and thought it was one of those type of appliances that are glued shut and require breaking to get inside. Thanks for helping me find that elusive screw that holds it together. Apparently it's in the same area as your model.
