if you buy kt modelingtoolset you will have update support until before major update (2.0). Current version 1.44, you will get 1.5, 1.6 ...etc up until version 1.9. For version 2.0, I plan to charge for a small upgrade fee for users that has already purchased ktmodelingtoolset since ver 1

Amazing tool. Thank you so much. I just have a bug in maya 2025.1. When I extrude the point, this create the point far of my initial position in the X axis.

Script has been updated to v1.2. maya 2025 support has been added. it should fix your issue

not sure if you are being sarcastic. but it sure is nice there is new tools being developed even if its not by autodesk.

or you can select all the meshes you want, hold right click, go to assign material, existing material. done. no hypershader needed.
that works for most situations. however if you have a lot of materials in your scene, it might be a bit of work going through th list. Im currently updating my script to allow per face shading transfer
Autodesk knows how to kill or make software mediocre. It's shameful but still for animators it's one of the best options. Modeling, vfx and other functions are completely obsolete or just more of the same. I liked your video, not the "updates" :)
thanks for the like! I wouldn't say maya is obsolete in modeling but, I do think the updates are happening at a slow pace. But thanks blender, they have recently pick up the pace.
I understand that Smart extrudeonly handles extrusions and not insets also. 3ds max does both smartly.
true, this is the v1 of smart extrusion. so hopefully soon will be added as well in the next iteration

viewport - 10 years old, any improvements. shader graph editor - 20 years old, any improvements. ui - still very bugy and the same for 10 years. UV - RizomUV soo much better. smart extrude should be introduced 5 years ago, nowdays every program have it. very very bad autodesk, as always

They might have lots of programmers but I don't think they have a large enough team for maya.

I hope someday they will add the ability to specify the bevel by the weight of the edge, Although it may be possible to do this via, specify a different value for the specifically selected edges.

are you asking if you can assign the custom hotkeys for the tools? if so, I think you can go to the modelingToolset custom shelf find the functions you want to add hotkey for> right click > copy the command and add it to the hotkey editor

Can you provide an installation tutorial? According to the website's method, I couldn't get it out after installation.
Add your path from Step 2 (e.g. C:\MudKit) to your MUDBOX_PLUG_IN_PATH environment variable. If you do not already have the environment variable, you can add it to your system variables. In Windows 11, you would do this through: Settings >> System >> About >> Advanced system settings >> Environment Variables. Did you follow this step?
It wasn't possible to add path on windows 10. There is no "MUDBOX_PLUG_IN_PATH environment variable" in the system. And no idea how create it from " Environment Variables" can you please explain what is needed to to for that? User variables and System variables have "New" button. sorry for the late reply. yes you would need to create a new one. Under user variables, click new. set the variable name as MUDBOX_PLUG_IN_PATH. and the value as the location path you put mudkit. example F:\mudbox\Plugins\Mudkit. The reason for this is to point mudbox to the path to activate the plugin.

Quad cylinder manually can be achieved by using a polyDisc as base> with object selected run mel polyExtrudefacet> adjust extrude amount. dont delete history and you'll achieve the quad cylinder. Adjust the polydisc divisions.

the path of the folder should look something like this. C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2023\scripts\others
How did you create these? did you make them in zbrush or subtance designer?
started with a plane > base on damage reference images start cutting the plane along the crumple lines> then start pushing and pulling the edges> add support edge to keep edges sharp> use a secondary plane to shrink wrap along the first geo to transfer the detail. relax the topo in bad areas. either bake the displacement in zbrush or blender or any dcc. hope that helps

This is awesome. is it possible to make a tool to chamfer/bevel a curve point? Let's say I want to just block in a curve with 90 degree turns. Then get rounded corners with this tool?
Thanks ! Not with this tool. This tool only extrude new curve points and curves. I will need to figure how to achieve the chamfer/bevel hard cvs.

I was referring to this hypothetical chamfer/bevel tool :) ... Anyways, I was thinking a tool similar to a blender addon called CurveMachine.

Cheers Darko! I gota dig into the file. But I believe it might be easier to setup with Maya bonustools proSets. Essentially its sourceMesh> polyDuplicateAndConnect to create a connection between the source and the duplicate> Then run a face extrude> use the original faceIDs to drive the polyDelFacet > final extrude to give it thickness
When I changed the mentioned script in Program files, t Create Sweep tool stopped to work. You can just make sweep mesh by default. After thet You can't edit sweep mesh.
thats strange, it shouldn't affect the sweep mesh. do you have an error message ?
