Range at displacement speed? Offshore category? Gas struts for those backbreaker interior floor hatches? It appears like your legs/feet would be dangling from the master head. No option for an interior control setup, or fully enclosed upper bridge? If you could narrow the beam to 25’ it could sail The Great Loop. I followed the Wandering Hillbilly and was less than impressed with the problems he had on his Aquila 54 (before the unfortunate accident). Recognizing that he complimented Marine Max for their support, he still suffered quality issues that seemed excessive. I am looking for a boat to travel from California to Alaska, and have been focusing on trawlers. This looks like a wonderful boat with excellent improvements, but I would still have a critical eye overall.

So to get to the head from the helm you enter from the starboard side, roll over the bed then back to the head? No walkway over? And no galley No interior seating This is a peculiarly laid out boat. But what do I know? I’m sure it’s the best options given the confines of a cat boat. It’s like a bedroom in a boat rather than a cabin.

I was wondering when they would take the next step, and here it is! I'm looking forward to taking a closer look!

I like these boats. Big enough for a couples cruiser but small enough for one person to handle. Put some solar on top, good lithium batteries, nice sized fridge, maybe fit in a washer/dryer and water maker. A couple could cruise the Caribbean for weeks with stops only for fuel and provisions.

LOVE the master cabin! Man deck master is a mst for me, but I don’t want the 95’ boat that you almost always have to get to have one.

Was looking at the Molokia, but got distracted by the 50’ and 54’. My only problem with these style of boats, is finding a marina to house them, if you don’t live on the water.

One design flaw i see. The covers over the sink and stove top should be more rounded on the corners. The square corners aren't appealing. Other than that....its my next hull. Outstanding performance!!!

There isn't helm in saloon. It's OPTIONAL... ??? Base price means you can sail WITHOUT any options... Options are usually for comfortable.. If I want to sail in winter i MUST buy saloon helm options or i MUST buy glass flybridge and heater system.. Flybridges are open area. Not for close with glass... I think they can't think this or they want to sell options... It's very very comic...

Wow. So many issues, I can't even begin to imagine how frustrating this would be. For the cavitation issue at the prop/rudder, I would suggest checking out Sharrow props. They've been shown to have significantly reduced cavitation vortices.

Positively gorgeous yacht, unfortunately I don't have $2.5M burning a hole in my bank account. Just a little too tall and a bit too beamy for the Great Loop as well. I'm guessing the foil system is similar to the one on the Aquila 36 but upsized?

I love the designs of the Aquila brand boats, I love this 50 ft configuration, I would only like, given the size, for them to make a small bathroom cabin on the bridge platform, of course always respecting good taste in its design, I think it would be very useful, and its size allows it, greetings from a passionate fan of Aquila boats 😉👍

Subpar tour of what may have become my new favorite, besting the Aquila 54. I actually like the drop down head and closet areas normally seen, so was unsure of this design, initially. The big lounge and closet sold me on this. The huge storage spaces are just a bonus. Now you need to get one of the professionals to tour this amazing boat.

The only drawback that I can see in this boat is the laundry in the master cabin. Either you wash other people's clothes or you let people in your room.

What kind of range are we talking about with you throwing the term explorer around. I see an option of an extra fuel tank to get it up to 750 gallons. Also we need to see the running gear. I don't like the idea of the props and rudders being the lowest part of the boat. I love the Aquila design and layout but the lack of fuel capacity and after seeing the Wandering Hillbilly becoming a total loss after running aground I am a bit reluctant.

Is bulbous bow only efficient at a particular speed? Most are. Does it create slap? Effect handling at low speeds? Inquiring minds need to know.

We can buy a 44 for about a million bucks. I bet this 50 comes in over 2 million.
