The Harley Bad Boy - A Legend
The '95-'97 Bad Boy had a short life cycle, but 27 years after its debut it continues to be one of the most sought-after Harleys of the 90's. I ride a pristine '96 model and see what the fuss is all about.

The Best Motorcycle Dolly - Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly
Переглядів 43 тис.5 років тому
A review of the Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly. I've been really happy with this thing and it works with a really large array of motorcycles. Check it out at letsroll.store/ I was not asked or paid to do this review - It is just a product that has worked well for my needs. IG: twowheeledcop FB: Two Wheeled Cop
S&S twins are 10X more reliable, have better compression (meaning they have better gaskets, OIC’s, connecting rods, pins, bearings, etc.) and have more power in all the right places, specifically bottom and top end. 🔧
I had an ss stand alone carb on my 2000 rk got rid of fuel rail and injectors less down the road probs
Just when I found a cool harley channel it stopped. Why? Come back bro lol. We need more harely vids
A '96 Roakking, now with a new S&S motor, your into it now for $14K. hmm, I had a '98 Heritage with 80 Evo motor and a 2000 Roadking with the TC88 motor both nice nice bikes back then but, they had some serios issues. The 5 speed transmissions, my left foot was always clicking uplooking for a 6th gear. They had loosey brakes, single piston that would lock up on me and with that Skinny ass 130 back tire I'd find myself sliding though intersections more than once. No Cuise Control. I'm currently riding my 15 year old 2010 Electra Glide Limited with the 103, it has a sweet 6 speed transmission, excellant Brembo ABS brakes with a 180 soft rubber rear tire, with Cruise Contol., and a built in Stereo. You can buy used 2010-2015 Harleys for $8-12K all day long here in Florida.
The biggest problem with an S&S motor, is the brand bike I would need to own to use one.
This bike fell into your lap for $4,000? I'm hearing too many stories like this that NEVER HAPPEN TO ME!!! 😡 I'm sorry for shouting, but, I think I'm going to cry. Look, I love my '07 Road King and would never part with her. We're in love. But I need a Night Train or a Breakout for my hot rod around town. I'll keep looking but 4 G's! Wow!
I spent months looking for my first Harley, the last dealer I went to showed me every bike they said I should get as a new rider, when I was about to leave he took me to the service dept and showed me a 04 night train and it was love at first sight. I still enjoy it as much as I did on day one, but I agree a breakout is a beautiful bike but the wife said no to a 2nd bike😢
Damn that’s a factory exhaust? 90s were really the time to be alive
No you are not an idiot. Just doing what you think was right at the time. I think this is a valuable video beacause of its candor. Not many people are prepared to share this kind of infomation. The true cost of fixing a problem. This helps people in lots of ways. Thanks.
"In the cost" Also factor in its NO LONGER an all original numbers matching bike. Depends on the bike.. but come resale time, thats a tougher and cheaper bike to sell! Some times cheaper ISNT actually.
I’m a FXR guy have been since 86 when I bought my first one…. But this to me has always been one bad ass looking bike ☝🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
I think that I am going to call My 94 Road King " Satchmo " After Louis Armstrong. It's Black and It puts A smile on my face when I ride it ! .
Just bought a 2004 Road King Custom with only 15k miles. Having much fun with it!
...Ain't a dead bike... It's not the speed, cornering, breaking... It's about a double heart's pumping as One. Absolutely Magnificent. 1*
I have a 96 Softail Custom and a 2006 Fatboy. I love them both. Bad boy is cool, but that springer is too much maintenance
I feel ya bro. Got a 2008 FLHRCI with 30k miles on it for 6500. Gorgeous bike. Cams, nice 2-1 pipe, 16” Carlini bars. After a month or so noticed some oil dripping under the primary .. was hoping a gasket .. nah.. it was a blown compensator which in turn blew out a tranny bearing and seal and fucked the clutch spline So new comp, All new clutch assembly, rebuilt trans, inner primary seal .. there went like $3500 or whatever.. FML. Love the bike tho. And no there was NO evidence of anything wrong when I got it or even when I was riding it. No weird clunks or vibrations or anything.
Mine is a 97 with the silver scallops. The dirt-track handlebars were my only complaint. I put the black apes from the Crossbones on it and can ride this bike around the world. I live at the gateway to the “three sisters“ in Texas, I really get more than 150 miles from home, riding the two lanes. I regularly get 52 miles per gallon… It just rides easy. I have the small, removable Harley, windshield that I’ve only put on for a couple of 500 mile trips that makes it quite nice, and the Harley bags that I have on it are quite handy.. I just retired and I’m going to sell it to finance my touring frame dream
I LOVE AND STILL RIDE MY 86 FXTCS BEEN FAITHFUL AND ALWAYS FUN!
Harley should bring back the Springer.
Wowzers man I love this boney! There's a pre-owned bike dealer near me that has a Night Train on the floor with a few subtle but functional aesthetic OEM mods fitted, nothing distasteful. - Mileage is < 4,400 - Asking price only USD $6225?!? - One owner w/FSH - 2007 Model - Stock Twin Cam 96 Only challenge is that I don't currently have the cash flow to throw at this (new to me, but practically new 17 year old gem🤯) Iconic find, and unfortunately because of it's age, no financial institution nor the dealership is willing to even consider financing. In my country once a vehicle is <12 years it's basically cash only unless you take a personal loan which is not a smart financial decision to make. Man, if I had the cash flow I'd have bought it on the spot, driven it to the car-wash for a wash and a hand polish/clay job to make the paint really pop, then home for an oil change and ceramic paint treatment. And I'd have the following done within a week: - Catalytic Converter delete (entirely legal in my country) - 2-1 Exhaust with a baffle (for my ears at cruising speed, and so that my neighbours don't dream of committing Arson). - Basic HFAC that suits the bike's aesthetic. - V&H FP3 Tune. - Dyno run My Harley guy who does all the service work I am still learning to take on myself (Clutch, Water Pump, Timing Chain etc.) has been trying to convince me to let him dyno tune my bikes for 2/3 the price of the FP3 but for Stage 1 I feel like the gains will be negligible over a bolt-on tuner, and I lose the real-time monitoring and diagnostic capabilities. Would only really need a Dyno tune with Stage 2+ tbh. Maybe one day I'll do stage 2 and fit a fat Cam for that mesmerising chop. Sonically, it just changes the entire experience imo. But as far as the performance gains (and perceived gains, which the numbers don't show but you certainly feel when you're riding) I think Stage 1 gives the best value per dollar and for me it's a must, triples my bikes' fun factor! Off topic - who deletes turn signals? What a numpty 😂
I have a gray 97. I've had it since 2007. Its far from original but i have all the original parts. Also its probably the best looking one in the country. 14,000 miles.
Your page is awesome
How much are you into this bike
I've got a 92 Heritage in Teal and Ivory. Making a white guy Vicla out of it. I do love my EVO, but always hunting for a 6th gear. My newer bikes are more refined but no where near the character.
what song was that.
The EVO engine Willy G Davidson’s creation…It was side an all aluminum engine that was side mounted and design to be worked on by any person with a little mechanical experience. Uses less oil and didn’t leak compared to the previous model engines by AMF. The EVO engine is responsible for saving Harley Davidson after AMF sold off Harley Davidson… I own a 1998 Springer, video of it on my channel
I just watched this one and the breaking in video. My 2007 RK is fine at 62k but I'm in love with it and thinking I'll rebuild it and start to save for that when it needs it. You mentioned a Broken bow series... im on the border of AR/OK so it interested me... did you take it down? Or am I just missing it? Thanks and thanks for your service keeping us safe.
I've got my 1998 fxsts that I feel the same way about. I have a hunch it's cammed, I know it's got the good main jet needle in the carb. It's pretty quick for it's age. Had loud ass screaming eagle exhaust that I hated, some trashed out, but original bags on it and best of all , an original quick removal windscreen that I like. It needed tires and throttle cables. I went thru the carb, replaced the dreaded straight pipes with a classic bubs exhaust 2into 1 pipe that isn't obnoxious till you're into it for more low end tourqe. Found original tailight, quick removal backrest, a set of quick removal boss bags and the chrome swept up mini luggage rack to make it a true convertible bike from barhopper to a bike I wouldn't be afraid to take to Sturgis and back. Next project: install of 6 spd gear set that I also walked into. I like the visceral feel of the old gal. Makes me appreciate the notion of putting along the road in a real classic Harley without breaking the bank. Craigslist has been a real help stealing all the accesories. Oh yeah, had to replace the power valve that modifies timing to prevent backfiring when you get off the throttle. My 3500 wonder. Watched the price drop from 7000 as summer wore on. I would never buy a new Harley or anything but an evo. Harley had it right at that space in time. Enjoy your bike!
A motor runs by electricity. Harley's have engines
Nice trip. That's enough to get me to move there from California. Dyna 88
Loving my 113" Ultima El Bruto Motor
What a shame the Mo-Co couldn't put a better cam bearing in the motor from the get-go. They TOTALLY suck
'96 EVO LowRider FXDL
ride on brother.... Absolutely Awesome.
Lifters and cambers
That bike looks tits!! Love the bars. Whatever comes loose just blue loctite it as u go.
My friend that is a piece of American history and nostalgia. The longer u keep it the more classic it becomes and the more $$$ its worth!! And whatever it needs mechanically just keep upgrading as u go and it will become completely restored Nice bike and the evo is a great motor easy to work on and u can up grade to a 93 inch and that will give u plenty of power.
Just wait a few years and buy the new one used or certified preowned and get it for 6-8 grand less. I will never buy a brand new Harley again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have 96 blue and it’s my go to bike when I just need my two wheel fix for local putt’ing around nimble and sweet only issue is 90/110 miles max travel
My first Harley Davidson is a 97 Road king with 80” Evo. Love my bike will never let her go!!!
Sweet
With ur evos always let the warm up good before getting on them the base gaskets for cylinders are shit and I’ve blown the rocker box seal before
I am 83 and ride a 99 Softail Custom which I dearly love. But the Springer reminds me of my first Harley, a 1942 "45" flat head in 1955. The springer front ends have a cool factor above and beyond most bikes out there. They are the most unique of all the Harleys. Very nice video.
Im a Lil late but u get the point!😁
The best of both worlds 4 sure, beautiful bike & i hear those pellet grills are amazing. Enjoy my friend!
Just purchased a 2009 night train. Love the feel of it. Just like you said it just speaks to you. I've had several bikes and have a 23 roadglide in the stable as well.
Gotta love the INA cam bearings which HD screwed up by using them on Evos AND Twinkies.
Love Bad Boys . Great lookin bike .
I just got an 07 night train with drag pipes from my wife for my birthday! Its my first bike ever and absolutely love it. Wakes the whole block up lol.
No guarantee that $20k new Harley is going to be trouble free either
Seems like more and more folks are rediscovering the allure of the Evo-era Harleys, myself included. I recently went from a '18 Street Glide to a '95 Heritage Special!
