6 liters are great until you have almost 20k in an 8k truck. Bout to drop 5k on a built trans the 27th
Grew up with a buddy that had a 2005/06 6.0 with the 4 inch mbrp exhaust and it sounded just like this and it made me so happy to hear it again
What exhaust and if it’s blessed performance wich one
What exhaust is it

Where did you get the mirrors? Did they come paint matched like that I have a set just like them on another truck but they aren’t paint matched, I want the same white one for my other truck
Damn that V6 sounds mean
@@mrjr8003 I’ve nailed it down to make it sound exactly like a v8
I like 3v mustangs👍
Wow amazing sound of my favourite car of all: the 3v mustang!
I wish your video gets millions of views because you have great content. Try running ads for your channel using some kind of system.
These trucks are not great in stock form. My grandpa had one and pulled a 5th wheel with it, and blew the head gaskets at like 100k. He has owned it since new and treated it pretty well
The answer is no if you’re rational. But… I’m convinced I’m a masochist at this point.
05-07. Are the best ones. 6.0’s are awesome. Yes they require maintenance! These are not fckng Honda civics. 7.3 and the 6.0 are the best because no def, period.
late 6.0 yes i buy one but will not buy but any under 05 no
I have an 03 with almost 200k miles, no problems minus a couple small oil leaks, but my 06 had the same leaks when I bought it
The nicer gauge cluster and coil springs
do you know what egr delete e kit he got
Honestly, no idea
What exhaust/ tuner?
@@elkfreak3 4 inch straight pipe, sctx4 with blessed performance custom tunes
Absolutely buy 6.0. the only problems you have out of them when people crank the power out of them and treat them like s*** and don't know how to work on them. I know somebody's got a 73. Crank the power up and it's in the shop monthly cuz he treats like s***. It's not the truck it's the owner. He bought the 7.3 he thought they were good but he says they're junk.
Lol absolutely not.
cuz u aint got money
I got a 2005 almost fully sock 6.0 with about 80k on it, All I have done to it is a Edge Monitor, 4" Flow Pro Exhaust, other than a blue spring up grade, the only other mods are maintenance maintenance maintenance! I do expect normal wear and tear and breakdowns, as with anything mechanical, but the truck runs and drives great, knowing what you have and how to treat it will go long way towards enjoying the 6.0 for years to come! good video!
Teo mins into it you already convinced me: no.
Needs a 9 or 10 blade!
@@justinian5237 oh I agree
265500 on an 06...egr delete, head studs, and a good tune is all you need for a small 7.3🤫
Would it be worth it to tune it?
If you truly look, youll the tons of these still on the road, meanwhile the duramax and cummins from this era are pretty rare
Just got a 05 2 owner, stock, clean as any. 84,000 on the clock. Even got an aftermarket 3 year 36K warranty. Y’all wish me luck 😭🙏🏼
What’s the update thinking of getting a 05 120k miles 1 owner very well maintained
@ Love mine so far, did a bunch of preventative maintenance though. Stand pipes, dummy plug, HPOP and bulletproof egr cooler. Along with proper coolant flush and coolant filter installed. So far so good 🤞🏼
I bought my 2006 6.0 powerstroke at 99k miles. It needed a new turbo because the last owner was running a SCT tune and it was blowing white smoke thru the tail pipe. Thru out the years it has needed: ipr valve that failed and turned the truck off while on the highway. Next was glow plugs, glow plug harness. Ficm needed to be rebuilt. Radiator, starter. It seems to need 2 new batteries every 3 to 4 years. I had the driver seat reupholstered. Currently the power steering pump has a slow leak. The bushings on the front end are gone. My ac has needed to be repaired 4 times.the radio has failed twice, I put a huge camper shell on it and use it strictly for work. In the past 5 years I have spent about $17,000 on repairs. Truck sounds great but I would highly recommend not purchasing this truck as a daily driver or your only means of transportation. It will definitely leave you stranded multiple times.
I just got a 2005 6.0 I have a bit over a month put a bulletproof egr cooler and upgraded oem oil cooler. Why because when I got it the degas bottle had oil mixed with coolant. Truck has 237k miles and 6,972 engine hours you could say she has over 400k miles but damn she is fully stock besides what I did to it. My mechanic told me this truck was babied so I’m hoping I don’t have to do much to it
3V Mustang GTs still sound mean and look good. Keep it up 🔥
If you just getting into to driving Diesel ANYTHING, expect to spend a lot of $ maintaining it Above recommendations and it will survive, and abuse and neglect of diesel go hand in hand=failures of the Vehicle. So do your maintenance with OEM parts and Specs, run motorcraft everything, utilize Archoil in every tank of fuel, change your Oil every 6,000 miles, dump and fill your transmission & coolant reservoir to keep everything as fresh as possible with the oil changes, I personally use a vacuum style pump to empty the brake reservoir and refill it as well along with taking a wretched to all the turbo system boots see if the band has any movement before you just tighten and tighten if necessary. Changing your Air filter is key, once per 6 months or every 2 oil changes, pulling your air intake off and inspect the turbo every oil change wear a glove and put light hand pressure on the center of the compressor wheel, make sure it has no play, oil changes and ensuring your motor is feeding fresh oil throughout the motor can and will ensure 300k+ miles out of your turbo system and injectors among other components.
I just picked up an 06 f350, everything is still stock at 360,xxx miles. It’s a little sluggish and feels almost like it has a misfire. ( I assume EGR issue) Was looking for recommendations where to start to get this thing some power after I get everything serviced. I picked it up with a clean title for 1800$ so I couldn’t say no even knowing the 6.0 history and problems.
First before throwing power at it, definitely work on finding the reasons behind the sluggishness
Good video
Only dries it out. Use some cerakote ceramic trim coat, (not saying it’s the best) but does better than a flame
Oh yeah, I’m replacing the whole bumper here soon anyhow
i love them Ford Power strokes but for the same price, i can get a Lbz Duramax that would outlast any Powerstroke. almost clocked in at 800k miles and haven't replaced any head gaskets or fuel injectors. I cannot lie that the 6.0 and 6.4 have the best-looking and sounding truck but I cannot wrap my head around the unreliability.
I can’t speak for 6.4s. I personally have seen plenty of 500k plus mileage 6.0s that the heads have never been pulled off. As for the injectors, no matter what engine, Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax. They could last 100k, 75k, 200k+, not saying 800 isn’t possible, but highly unlikely. Injectors have less to do with the truck and more with the fuel and oil used in the engine, and just how well the truck was maintained
You still own truck ?
I do
@@PackGarage how’s it treating you you ? How much more money you dump into it ?? Bproofproof ? Love the 6.0 I’m looking at a 2007 with 70 thousand original miles with 8 foot bed. Just not bulletproof got nervous but legit an old guy has owned it from day 1 still got sticker and all services records. Still little nervous. Might just go with low mile 7.3 and up grade turbo injectors hydra tune and 5 inch exhaust and up grade trans. Tough decision
I’ve put about 10k into it, between bulletproofing, mods, and repairs. But most of that has been a choice and not necessity
Sounds amazing
Still have the truck ?
Sure do
I’m looking to buy one . I’m in Jersey . Any advice? A lot of trucks for sale but a few that are worthy looking . I want a 6.0 , 2006, 2007 . Crew cab . White or burgundy. But a good truck
I know the 6.0 compared to a 7.3 is a POS but I have always loved the sound of the 6.0
The truck is amazing, however that junk international engine under the hood is the problem. If ford put Cummins engines in these trucks from factory, ram trucks wouldn’t be around anymore
Tuning it usually makes em junk
Is this truck on a 2.5 level kit with 37 inch tires ?
35s
Yeah those look great!
I really appreciate the video!!! Your description and video was very help and as someone who enjoy understanding how things work it vs just doing things!!
Thats a beautiful truck ya got there.
Thanks man, appreciate it
stock turbo?
Yeah
wow
5 inch straight pipe turbo back
mine is too and it dont sound like that lol
@codywagner8998 I also have blessed performance tunes, running the eco beast in this video
I found one, guy says it's bulletproof and it's got a new ipr system along with other stuff he's done. It sounds REALLY strong and yeah, I can see some of the aftermarket piping on it but he didn't zoom in in the video. He's asking 7500 but I plan to offer him 5 cash. At that price, I'm more than comfortable. 215k miles on it so it seems to be doing pretty good. Once I verify he's got all the paperwork and such, no idea if he's done the egr if not I will cuz fuck them stupid ass things. I'm praying this is actually on the up n up cuz I need a daily driver for work. And at that price, God forbid, but if something goes wrong I can fix it or again seriously God forbid the engine dies, I can just do a cummins and allison swap. I'd rather keep something and upgrade it than get rid of it and be out of a daily driver. Besides, gotta get to and from work in order to make money and get my 68 charger.
Better sounding diesel over a duramax or cummins imho. Even if the others were straight puped as well. Tell me im wrong.
@@Carnage6.0L you ain’t wrong. It’s how a diesel should sound imo. 7.3s also but not as good they don’t have the whistle I got a ten blade, looking to get the new 9blade KC stage one jet fire for Xmas Hopefully Santa sees this comment lol
I can tell you are gay
I have an opportunity to get a f350 XLT 6.0 with an 8’ bed and a four door cab. The truck is an 06 with 109k on the odometer and seems to be in really good shape. It’s also lifted on 37” tires. I’d love to get it but I have reservations about getting a 6.0 with everything I’ve heard about them.
Think about it like this, people will go to the internet and complain if something goes bad, or wrong. The people that have 0 issues don’t go to the internet to praise their truck. The 6.0 is over dramatized because of it. If it’s a good deal, good service records, go for it
I have a 2005 F250 4X4 6.0 it is missing its Catalytic converter which we removed after it clogged! It has 185000 miles…. Change the oil, fuel filters and radiator fluid filter. It runs great!
I have a 03 with 190k, runs like a top
Got one exactly like yours. Same color with the camper shell. 158000. Runs great. Bulletproofed at 82000 miles
I miss this truck, I now have a 06 white two tone king ranch
Love my truck. Slowly fixing it up one thing at a time. Bought it in 2015. Beats buying a new truck for sure!
