Why I've Always Hated My Birthday... And What I Did to Change It
This was a long TikTok/Reel that should've been a UA-cam video. Hello to all my new subscribers! My name is Koy Sun, I'm a sign painter and short form content creator that is transitioning to UA-cam. Earlier in the year, I tried to challenge myself to make UA-cam quality content for TikTok. Though my videos were doing well, it was hard to sustain a normal life since TT didn't really compensate me that well for my efforts. Which is why I'm here and I'm so grateful for this new community that just popped up! We are closing in on 100k subscribers just from YT Shorts alone and I can't wait to upload my first real video. There's so much I want to share but I'll pause here for now. Appreciate y'all!

These brush is so niche, you can’t find them anywhere in my city , desperately I thinking making one with normal brush
I’m so delusional, I told myself I could definitely do this if I had the right set of brushes!
I am so overjoyed by the mr. peanut knife!!! I was obsessed with mine when I was little
Hi, idk if you’ll read this but, you’re such an inspiration to me… I’m also an asian american in SoCal and becoming a sign painter is my dream job; you’re quite literally the visibility I never saw previously and absolutely needed. I always thought it was a silly dream to have, but now I feel a little more hopeful about it, if I’m allowed to say that.. Your content is awesome and I love to see all the opportunities and cool projects you’re part of, and would especially love to see longer videos! (if you’re down for that haha). Anyway, sorry for the gush lol. I paint mini models and also use sable brushes! They’re great for really fine details that need longer working times, but I find that those brushes need extra care and maintenance to keep their tips intact 😅 It’s synths for me, if I’m in a project with tons of models hehe
Look into how they kill the weasels who are raised in captivity to make those brushes 💔 there are good cruelty free alternatives out there instead
Please become a vlogger or smt like that
A similar container is used for surgical instruments
Kolinsky is unbeatable, I own 2 and they're a dream as a watercolorist 🤩
I need the tutorial
#Bendavis
It’s so nice, I’m truly envious of creative artistic ability. Hope you got the gallery space
All watercolorists will tell you - kolinsky is the shit. Expensive af tho and lasts less than synthetic hair
Dang thats beautiful
They use that type on Rolls Royce when doing the lines down the sides and only 1 man does them for the whole company
Dayyyyyyyyum.
Thanks for sharing!
I enjoy listening to your soothing calm voice
Who gets emotional listening to a guy taking on a challenge, hearing about his anxiety, people waiting...... me.....I got emotional. Wtf
I love when people show off their tools of the trade. I’m not a sign painter but when my shop truck is done I want it the signs on the side to be hand painted. It is so cool and satisfying to see.
I don't know much about striping brushes specifically but I've been painting my entire life and a BIG part of your brushes snapping into shape (and holding paint) has to do with how you wash and dry them. The right brush for the job and a quality/ price that works for you are hugely important- but learning proper brush care is something that folks often overlook, especially when starting out. It also extends the life of your brushes in a BIG way. Some of my favourite brushes are 20 years old and, minus chipped paint on the handles, are still in incredible shape.
I LOVE YOUR WORK SO MUCH?! Ahhh
How does does that dry?
haha love that! been rocking my same pair of BD overalls for years now, they hold up !
Partner? Like tennis...
$200 a set. ❤
People were too 'shy'? Noo they weren't interested
Ooooo
Stephen Powers esque
dude stop spreading lies artist r already exclusionary no need to devide us more with lies about brushes.
What?
Are you whining because he's talking about his preference?
Do you think these require a bit of a learning curve? The amount of paint I can pack on the brush is definitely an issue I’ve been trying to solve with my brushes. I’d be interested in these brushes but wouldn’t want to buy something I’d have a really hard time adjusting to
@@emilieshepherd4005 it depends on what you’re painting but generally yes. They are stiffer bristle but are still much softer compared to other brush shapes. Def worth a try if you use oil paints, otherwise I recommend FS 925 or Hi Fliers synthetic bristles for urethane and water based paints.
Like if you’re apart of the plastic gang #brokeaf
Ive always loved hand painted signs, you have inspired me to learn how to do it! Love your work
It dont matter what you do, Kolinsky sable is the bomb, I use their finer watercolour brushes for acrylics
Incredible talent, thanks for sharing
I need more brush videos! People say look at what mack have but it does not help if you don't know what half the words mean, quill, flat, outliner, liner
Yes to a degree but the important part here is the kolinsky sable
I was just looking at new brushes! 😂 perfect timing
I wasnt but im definitely buying some now😂
Need to pick colors with better visibility for signage.
The disadvantage with the animal hair is that you pay for killing the animals when buying them. I used to also get high quality kolinsky brushes, but I don't think the small advantage they bring over high quality vegan brushes justify taking the life of an animal.
Peta paid for this comment. Many are "harvested" from already dead animals
Some synthetics are wonderful. I don't buy animal hair due to not wanting to support fur farming
The problem is synthetics are just not as good
@SICresinwrks they might need slightly different handling, but you adapt. And a decent synthetic is better than a mid-range hair brush, in my opinion
I don’t even wanna think ab the price
That's so cool!!
i mean i love horror… but just. why?
So proud of youuuu!!
He’ll yeah love it !!!
👏👏👏 go Koy educating us!!
Do you have the link for the brushes?! They're amazing!!
This set is 200 if i remember correctly
Holy shit I know which UA-camr you are talking about! Amazing!
What material do you prefer to work on ? (Metal, glass, plastic screen, or wood).
