NAPA has a block test kit that has a bullet shaped container and cone. The fluid is reusable even if it changes color, just run fresh air through it and watch it turn blue again.
Still chasing a high idle on my project 3.2, somes say ecu others say throttle body sensor? Easy to start chucking money. Want to keep total below a grand. Will get roof and boot lid painted in the summer.
I've had expirence with high idle on these jags before its usually the throttle body that needs a good clean or the throttle position sensor that bolts on underneath the throttle body at fault.
Pity owners have driven these in the winter salt often never jetwashing the underneath or applying rustproofing periodically. Certain build date cars rust more than others too.
What a nice project and as we know cars like this are never going to be made again. Ive got a 96 4.0 Sovereign here in France and shes a keeper. Good Luck.
Can I ask how much you bought the car for? It's hard to get an idea of price for a project, my local specialists says £300-£1000? Looking at buying a 60,000 mile one owner London Surgeon, good body and floor non runner, mint interior other than.... yep, headlining sag, hasn't been on the road for 10 years. It does crank and can hear pump. I might be able to get it for under £500 but wondering if I go higher, when do I stop? Cheers

That’s pretty cool
Been a mechanic for years and have never seen this. I’ll definitely have to look into it. Is the dye sensitive to hydrocarbons?
Yes it does detect hydrocarbons
I saw that you can reuse the fluid (put it back into the bottle) as long as it stays blue.
