Anker Solix C300 Portable Power Station just a basic review video. So far I have found it very durable, convenient and dependable in handling low power tasks like charging phones, tablets, laptops and low power QRP transceivers and handhelds. It is constructed with durability and can easily be put into a backpack or left in your car, cottage or home and pulled out when required. It has been at ...
A/C Leak 1999 Subaru Impreza Outback
Переглядів 417 місяців тому
Was wondering why my A/C doesn't work. There is refrigerant in system but I guess low pressure switch is preventing the A/C to work because of this really really slow leak. Is there a way of repairing the leak without or before I have to completely recharge system? Leak is right by compressor where aluminum tubing attaches on low side of system.

How much for the new digital one
240 CAD
Nice collection
Even in 2024 it's still a cool radio!
I was recently given a couple of PK-232MBXs. But now I'm wondering why someone would use one of these old-school hardware TNCs instead of a modern software TNC like Direwolf. Comments?
Nice, I'm getting one tomorrow. No radio is perfect, but it is still a proven rugged workhorse. I can't wait to get mine. :)
Any chance you know how to take out the circuit on the top to repair it?
The Yaesu battery is a bit snug to put in the radio, once you get the hang of it it's not a big deal, it's like that with the VX5 and VX7's as well. The 6 will use most of the same accessories as the VX7. Also handy is the standup fast charger (CD-15A) 'maybe and old part number', it is somewhat expensive though. You can run the radio directly from 12 volts, it will heat up on hi power TX. Good contrast on the display very readable, albeit a simple 6 character readout. RT Systems software works well and uses the same programing cable as the VX7, in fact you can cut and paste data from one program to another. One thing I like is the VX6 makes a good scanner with the ability to use 24 banks of 100 memories to manage the over 900 memory channels. This is something the new Yaesu FT5 can't do, poor channel management, I'm sure it's a fine radio in other respects. The VX6 looks to be a tough radio, should be well suited as a daily carry radio, just be aware that like other Yaesu handhelds the numbers will ware off the soft keys in time in a pocket without a case. A threaded mic accessory jack is at the top next to the antenna, the Yaesu speaker mic is threaded and screws in to make a water proof seal, the RT Systems cable is not threaded but is designed to plug into the recessed threaded jack same as the VX7. Spare batteries are available from Radioworld, or your Yaesu dealer, and Batteries America. The stock antenna works well enough, but remember an aftermarket antenna should cover the same bands as the radio. 7 3
Perfect timing for your video. I ordered one from Radio World about 1/2 hour ago then watched this👍. 73
So do u trade out the 70d ?
Nope keeping it because it does digital C4FM. This only does analog only. Bought it as I can listen to AM, FM broadcast band and shortwave HF.

Very nice and explained video! 73"From Babis(Charalampos) SV1BYK
Thank you. Talk to you on DMR.
Isn't there a bigger battery for it
AliExpress has them. 2750 mAh. They advertise with 3300mAh. Test results shown 2750mAh.
ok thank you. if you could go over what your setting were within Winlink that would be helpful. did you use kiss mode, or the drop down menue for the pk 232- frack, delay etc...put it up when you can. I have only been able to use it in kiss mode, and not the actually drop down menue for the PK-232, even though it is an option?
are there any special commands that need to sent to the pk232 or just turn on and operate? Also, when you setup winklink, what data rate did you setup to talk to the pk232 9600 bd ?
9600 yes your right. I have taken it down but will put it up again in future
Just subscribed because I have a lot of the old Colman lanterns and stoves from the 60s up. Love those things. Keep'em coming
Thanks by no means am I a guru in fixing these but I love learning and restoring these Coleman products. I still need to get a check valve removal tool and slowly start building up my Coleman parts bin.
I love these things. I own three . And you can't give me a propane stove
Runs on kerosene?

Nice. I had one in the 70s. Would like to get one again
As a newly licensed Ham, I went to the Dayton Hamvention and bought one of these FT70D handhelds, because I was under the belief that any radio from Icom, Yaesu or Kenwood would be of decent quality. Within a week of getting the FT70D radio home, I was wishing that I'd done more research before buying that quirky radio. The battery life is horrid, and it takes forever to charge. 1/2 of the time my radio is out of commission because the battery is low and is on the charger.. Needing 2 hands to adjust the volume - who the heck built that into the design? Trying to program it using the USB cable that is included?? - Get ready for a test in dexterity.... This FT70D has really soured my view of Yaesu.
You are right on all accounts.
Does this radio receive AM on the UHF aircraft band (~225MHz to ~400MHz) ?
No
Extra batteries are a must. Super easy to program repeaters from the front of the radio. Fast. Easy.
35 years ago, I was hard hardcore ham radio on 2m/70cm/HT/Mobile/packet. Enjoyed lots of volunteer work. Then life happened. Today, I'm needing a way to reach out to people as I'm finding it hard to get out of the pandemic bunker mindset. So, I got an HT to see if that holds my interest. There's an advanced features manual that's worth downloading. I've unlocked basic and adv manuals so I can make notes. (Why are these docs locked?) I've still got a lot of questions.... I've had this radio (FT-70) a couple months. I'm not terribly happy with it. (I'm thinking I should have gone for FT-60.) 1) Changing the volume is a two handed operation. A "sticky key" option would help. 2) Yaesu programming w/USB is possible, but sucks. RT Systems uses the cloning connection which makes entry to programming mode easier, and editing data in the app is doable. I've had no success importing data to Yaesu and barely better with RTS . 3) I've not done much transmitting. RX sensitivity seems poor using supplied antenna, but that might be me (rubber duckies are always poor, but this seems poorer). Comet MA-721 antenna for car helped. Building where I works seems to be a giant Faraday cage (confirmed by the building maint crew). 4) I hate SMA connectors. I ended up getting an SMA thumb wrench, permanently mounted to SMA connector on cable. This is basically a disk about the size of a quarter with a hex shaped hole in it, held on with a set-screw. Much easier to connect mobile antenna now. www.hasco-inc.com/tools/sma-3-5mm-2-92mm-2-4mm-1-85mm-connector-finger-thumb-wrench-solid-brass/
I thought about this HT but there are some design flaws (in my opinion) on how the volume control is setup which prevents many use-cases from being realistic... like putting your radio in a pouch or in a backpack with a speaker mic and needing adjust volume easily on the go (which is what a HT is designed for). That alone should drive anyone crazy... THEN the ridiculous engineering design that was implemented on how to program the radio via the Yaesu programming software which ultimately will FORCE you to buy RT Systems software to avoid this chaotic mess.
You are right. I've had it for a while now and find the small design flaws an issue. But for an EDC HT its okay. I was very careful in programming it not to brick it. Yaesu should clean up their act and learn from their mistakes.
Nice, Princess Auto is a good source for HDMI cables. I think they have an HDMI switch as well, not as nice as this one.

Popular Hand Held, to bad about the battery life. I found most manufacturers don't include the charging stand, the radios from China seem to all come with a charging stand. As for programing Yaesu VX5, 7, and 8 are pretty easy. And the WOUXUN KG-UVD1P is very easy with the free software, and red programming cable. The ANYTONE 878 you have to go to school to learn.👍
Tripod!
How much $$
Under 30 I believe
Back the camera away. Unboxing videos are not necessary. Oh and good luck connecting the 70 to your PC. It's a pain in the bitch. One more thing. You paid too much.
Looks good. Where can you get the gas adapter?
Check description. I got it too from Amazon
