I actually really like that damage system.

My favourite part is the horrible unbalanced spell systems. For example, you can create a clone of yourself that has a chance of being hostile. The issue is that the clone inherits your magical abilities, including the clone spell. So you can essentially create a small army using mitosis if the party and the GM are patient enough.

Huh, I wouldn't think that a DnD hack would differentiate wizard and cleric magic. Always love when games make some difference between magic from yourself and magic from someone else.

Still an awesome title for an RPG

Natives of the lands get superpowers? Natives how? How do you define a true native when, according to popular science, we all came from some place in Africa millions of years ago, and all the countries were one massive landmass (Pangaea)? How long do you have to live in a place to be a native? If you live abroad, do you still get the powers of your land (alien in New York, etc)? What happens to a person of mixed blood or who was conceived through alternate means? Grape, tube and surrogate babies, for example. Or is this another case of "the author spitting on people he or she doesn't like on the internet"?

If you want a superhero ttrpg that has interesting character creation, narrative gameplay decisions, and is incredibly flexible for almost any supers genre you want to throw it in; Sentinels RPG from greater than games is incredible

I hope a fanfiction is made of this someday. Just reading the premise screams potential to be a good story.

i remember this game. it was … interesting.

Good vid! Nightlife is one of my favorite games that I've never played (another one is Rolemaster). I always liked it better than Vampire and the rest of the WoD because Nightlife is built from the ground up to be cross monster compatible. Everything uses the same basic system, so interspecies groups are the norm and not something the devs would come to your house to kneecap you for. Also, it has one of the better non-Lovecraftian eldritch horror setups, as there's a whole Underdark style region full of Junji Ito sketched Far Realms nightmares that even the Kin don't want to tangle with (and a breach into that region is one of the few things to get an automatic cease fire/truce between the various factions in game so they can seal it up).
