Join us as we transition our family ranch to Regenerative Agriculture. We are a young hardworking family that believes in God. Join us for all our successes and our blunders.
The whole family is sick but the cows still have to eat.
Tag along with us on a typical day feeding the cows. The whole family has been sick for several days but work on the farm can not be put off.

Are we waisting our hay by rolling it on the ground?

Are we waisting our hay by rolling it on the ground?
Consider doing " all " baleage hay. Wrap everything wet or dry. No waist ....cattle eat everything ! It dont cost.....it pays !
Regenerative Agriculture >>>>> I as a 70 year old farmer...and farmed my entire life. Diary farming (intensive grazing )/ row crops and now instead of dairy....stock cows....and their calves. I ask a basic question ?????? If you have said number acres ( lets pick 100 acres ) wouldnt it be smart to utilize that acreage to the best possible production ? Im relating to fertilizing it !!!! Example. You have said number of acres.... and you fertilized that acreage and you double your production.....which happens in a normal growing year. And you have extra hay ! Your not spending money on farm / land payments or property taxes on land you might buy ! Therefore you have money for fertilizer ! Why not utilized that land you have control of ? I see many trees in the fence lines.....which does not produce grass ! Cattle need shade yes........but not miles and miles of fence lines ! By no means being critical.....just a basic thought and question ! Any answers ? By the way.... at 10:19 consider removing that ring on your finger. Trust me.....farming is not a place where you put metal objects around outer limbs !!!! Could end up missing that finger (s ) hand .....arm......or you ! Cattle care less if your married.......or glitter in the sun ! However the bull........might take a liking to you !
Get better soon y’all
Thanks. We are on the mend.
Awesome wish I was there
This is awesome, I love it 👏
Thanks
Now that's living life farming and ranching is for everyone you have to have it in your blood or it doesn't work keep up the good job and beef is the way to go
Yeah it’s definitely not for everyone. I was born and raised to it. I’m glad I can raise my children the same way. Thanks 🙏
Yea I was born into and love it my friends in the city say I am crazy but we bring the food to the table
Great song choice! That last 4sec is so nostalgic... being a kid and having a blast tossing ice chuncks with siblings and seeing how far they scatter 🥺
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
Thanks for showing your children how it works !
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
Is this a daily feeding or every few days? Thanks for being a farmer/rancher!!
We usually feed every 2 or 3 days throughout the winter depending on how cold it is. Cows eat more when it gets cold. They need more calories to keep warm. We usually start feeding sometime in November or December and stop in March or April depending on the year and when the first and last freeze occurs.

Il vous faut une cage de distribution
We do have a few feeders in our small pens but as long as the ground is dry they actually clean up most of the good hay and the stuff they leave, poop on, or trample helps build the soil. It works for us. Now if it’s real wet or muddy we don’t roll it out as then they really do waste way to much
@@SolidRockRanch Vous avez l'air d'avoir du soin pour vos bêtes , merci pour eux
@@GuyDECRETthanks. We love our animals
Больше затопчут, чем съедят.
Sometimes
not good for your back, looks like they are loaded into something with forklift groove. not for no reason id imagine. god bless your back D:
God Bless you and your family. I would love to live on a farm with my kids. How many acres is your farm and what state? Have a great evening
It’s about 1,200 acres in SE Oklahoma
Skid loader right there. 🤔
Yeah sometimes it’s easier and more fun just to do it manually.
The guy acted a bit like a little kid when he was putting his jacket back on. 😄
He acts like a child most of the time 😂
@@SolidRockRanch 😅
Whats in it, looks like dirt!
It is a Sweet Pro tub. It is dried compressed distillers grain. We have been feeding them for years and our cows do great on them
@SolidRockRanch thanks so much 🙏
There’s this new invention called a horse , try might help you out a little bit 😂😂😂good job 🤙🤙🤙!!!!!
I will have to look into it. 🤣
Maybe you should consider a calf catcher?
Might be a good idea
That's a recipe to get gored
I have had a few mama cows run me over in my time
Love the shirt ! Maybe when Trumps in office you can afford a good cow pony 😉🇺🇸
Thanks! Yeah a good quarter horse would have come in clutch.
@@SolidRockRanch I didn't mind seeing the action of the jeans ☺️ Don't let my name fool ya . I'm just a cowgirl Ford truck gal 😁
Baby bull dogging for real.
We thank Jesus for all our blessings of animals😊😊😊😊😊
Amen 🙏
Did you guys get to do the race? How did it go!
Yes we did. It was long and grueling with extremely low water levels, high humidity, and hot weather. We had some stomach issues that slowed us down but we still managed to finish. That was our main goal this year. There was a few hours where we had our doubts if we would. Our footage from the race wasn’t great but I need to edit some videos and post them. Thanks so much for asking.
That’s beautiful country.
She wouldve eaten her way out
Great job on integrating the kids in everything, Amen brother !!!!!
Thanks 🙏
Stuck ? She was just eating
I appreciate how kind they were to their cow. Nancy is adorable!
She found a sweet spot when the guy exposed fresh hay.. she's like...hold it there
you need a mentor to learn filming
Some animals are food for a reason.
LOL this is not a dung beetle. It is a rainbow scarab beetle😂
It is in fact a Rainbow Scarab Beetle 🪲 which is a type of dung beetle 👍
No you got me to the good stuff good girl 😊
The cow is like saying," Oh, my head's free? Well, give me a minute to finish this last munch, and I'll get on out:. By the way I have found farm and stable hands to be the most patient and dedicated workers I used to train new people for telephone operator jobs. It required interaction with customers to understand the requests and multi-step percdures to satisfy their needs. It was frustrating for the students to learn the task, some quit, others went to lunch and simply didn't return. That never happened with animal care takers. They were troopers!❤
Too stinking cute:)
I kept screaming at the girl to go HELP! 😂😂😂
It's a bad design.
Gonna have to eat your way out , tough love 😮
Cow😂
Just this positive interaction to help the car says so much about this family!❤🙏
Poor cow.............I guess this is a typical day in the life of a farmer............going around checking on everything and everyone............as well as a full day of work..............
That donkey loves those girls ❤ one rancher to the next I love this ❤
Lol
Great rescue!❤❤❤
