Imagine Family Matters let Urkel go because he became too popular. Thats the thing with Sitcoms, you have to evolve the show on how the audience responds.

Back then there was so much cocaine flowing through that business the producers couldn’t make sober decisions. Bateman totally stole that show.

I show that show to my kids so they can see what my teenage years were like. I loved It's your move. It was Parker Lewis can't lost stole the concept.

My 2 children and I watched Silver Spoons JUST because of Jason Bateman…once he was booted,we stopped watching.

He’s one of those that you hear about who turned down a certain iconic roles(Ferris Bueller, Full Metal Jacket). But often you think it wouldn’t have been as good if…But in his case he would definitely have pulled them off as well as the ones who ended up doing them. Unfortunate because he was a really unique and talented young actor.

Imagine a television show where a woman was an assistant to a man and, not only didn't constantly ridicule and humiliate him, but actually fell in love with him. Such a show could never exist today.

I am not saying this is necessarily incorrect, but how do we know it is true? You seem to read from a sheet that says it was a decision by network executives. About as vague as the moon on a cloudy day. Would be nice to have some actual detail. Perhaps the name of an executive and/or a quote. Anything. Even what you were reading from.

I would have imagined the 900 designation was to help the ill-informed that they were making a toll or non-local call. As a kid was pretty clear if I was making a phone call and had to start with a one that I better ask an adult first. The 976 numbers that creeped out of nowhere during one summer vacation seemed like a harmless call to a local recording. Many parents including my own had to pay some consequences and remember those ads started to add 'kids asking your parents permission'.

I did a bunch in middleschool thinking I could outsmart the phone company by hanging up before a minute. Based on my fathers reaction to the phone bill I was wrong 😅

Now I can understand if they let him go cause he was difficult to deal with like Suzane Summers on Three's Company, but Jason Bateman wasnt difficult at all he helped to make the show Derick was a sleeze and a creep which made the show good one of the reasons I watched Silver Spoons was cause of Derick the 80's Eddie Haskel and Ive seen Its your move that show bombed they should have brought back Derick after the departure the only reason I watched it was cause of Tricia Cast she wss a babe. Silver Spoons was only so-so, was pretty much a cheap show. Cheap sets, cheap writing, and as we all know now, Ricky Schroeder is a horrible person. Most cable companies airing reruns yanked it a long time ago. The show is best forgotten.
