I am thinking I will have a groove cutter this year. I will need to practice up the wire wrapping but it's something I will be into soon. Just saying let me practice up. Then I will work a trade with you for making you some pendants. Just saying.

Eye agates are my favorite and not that easy to find in the area you were in so well done I think I’ve only found 3-4 eye agates and they were all carnelian from one area I lucked upon great find congrats that’s the great thing about rocks you never know what’s inside them. This is great! I love the idea of making our own equipment, especially when the manufactured gear can cost so much. What rotational speed does the motor on your homemade tumbler run at? I've got an old buffing wheel I was considering adding a belt and rollers for tumbling larger barrels, but am not sure how rpm is impacted by weight on the rollers.

When I was beveling glass, I built what is basically a flat lap out of an old automobile flywheel. I think I still have it around here sonewhere...

Why would you pay money for ugly rocks when you can just walk outside and pick up the first rocks you see without any sort of discrimination? You have to carry them home anyway , whether from the store or from the side of the road.

Looks like brecciated red quartz to me the red comes from iron enrichment in the quartz and the brecciation comes from being in a fault area where the superheated silica rich water fills in the space between the fault that ground up the host rock leaving the angular pieces you see embedded in it I never had the patience for tumbling lol it takes so long but it’s definitely worth it in the end thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼

Hi Mike, 3 out of 5 is pretty good! The first one with the white stripe is beautiful! You could 'glue' a wood block on the cut face to get more slabs. A product called 'waterglass' might be a good choice for the glue. Those flame agate slabs are awesome! Fracture seal those for some incredible cabs. The geode is amazing! The crystal pseudomorph is incredible! If you come to Tucson - you might want to bring a half with you to get it identified. ( I don't think it's a quartz crystal). Great video! Thumbs up! talk soon. Popped in to see what areas of Arizona you were hitting watched a couple of your vids from my home state and recognize all the Arizona places you went. Your right we do have our secret stashes lol but every now and then we share a spot with someone that needs it or would appreciate it. That being said I’m an Arizona native and have plenty of spots. Like a whole hill of fossilized crystallized mussels. Another with chalcedony chevron shadow agates (a private permission where the rancher said it was ok as long as I wasn’t disturbing the cattle and so many shadow agates I could never get them all) a seam agate spot with tons of red yellow and sometimes green banding and in that same area huge chunks of light blue opaque material with white inclusions and also small opaque carnelian agates so I’m thinking we should have an email chat before you come out this way again…. Very cool geode and other rocks I’m thinking that red material has some kind of limonite in it or is petrified limonite it sure made a mess lol thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼P.S. amethyst is cool but it hates sunlight if left to long in the sun the purple bleaches out of it

First... Now I can't speak for everyone but I watch videos while working in the shed. I am out here for hour's. That said long videos aren't a bad thing. You put out some really nice stuff and show us newbies how you do it. Do what you do. Whether its a long video or a series I will watch them. I am thinking of building my own cabbing machine. Or to buy a used one. They are pricey.

Agate Ariel has no problem selling rocks. Same with Michigan rocks you may not get rich but selling some will pay for the polish.

Love it. I think your "Find to finish" is a great idea. Think you could stretch it a bit though. I would watch the other stages along the way.
