    Before I looked up how to make them I didn't know there was any other version than these boards here. I don't know what the "3 hole washers" is all about, but this is exactly the video I have been looking for. We always covered ours with conveyor belt rubber on the top, 2 washers a player and play to 21. Great instructional video man, I love it.

    Hi, Thanks for the nice video. Very informative and clear. Did you ever make the other video on the replacement of the Tine seal that you mentioned at the end? On my Vertical Tine Tiller, one of the Tine Seals is leaking a bit and I was wondering if it is something I could do. My Hustler Fastrak 48 has a Honda GXV 610 engine that has less than 100 hours. It starves for fuel when it gets hot and quits running. The air cleaner can't be removed to service the carburetor because the steel square nuts spin inside the plastic fan cover and there's no way to put a wrench on them without destorying the fan cover. Honda used to build quality products, now they build plastic disposable junk.

    The original engine on mine is 8HP. The only Predator engine that would work is the 212 cc engine which is about 6.6 HP. Would that be big enough? I’m thinking I should go with the Kohler Command Pro because it’s 9.5 HP. Just a tiny bit bigger

    • @j2buildsit
      @j2buildsit 5 місяців тому

      Keep in mind that your old "8 hp" engine was likely only actually putting out 5 to 7 hp at the most. Possibly even less if it was worn out. How they use to rate hp on engines back then was a lot different than the requirements now. But, that being said, I would still try to put the biggest engine on there that will fit. It's always better to have too much power than not enough.

    • @wcjcnc
      @wcjcnc 5 місяців тому

      Yes, the Predator engine will work great. I have a small engine repair shop and I’ve put Predator engines on probably 7 to 8 of these old Horse tillers. I recommend the Predator 224cc Max Performance engine. I have one in the shop right now I just finished.

    Tilled the sandy garden once this year and when I went to do it again nock nock nock and bang after 40 years the 8HP sent the rod threw the cylinder so I bought a replacement listed as 7 HP and when it came it was 6.5 so I put it on and when I went to till I would dig in 5" and it would stall out so I have been trying everything like changing the pudding in the gear box and putting some lube in the dry tine gear box but still it stalls seems like a lack of balls but watching this video it never dawned on me that there is a low oil shut off that the dig angle might trigger so thanks for the video I am out to try it again.
