Lady is so sweet showing off your progress ❤ love the sock colour combo! Tell your parents I want a diamond painting update.
Will do! I'll get dad to send some pics for my next video!!
KATE!!!! Your needs no paint is stunning - I can’t wait to fight your mom for it ;)! (I’m commenting from my phone, so I may need to do multiple comments and just keep coming back haha) LADY! Omg precious girl. What a good cameo!! Good idea to leave the white of the canvas vs. Doing all the white stitches. That’s a very painterly (watercolour specifically) decision which matches the name “needs no paint”!!!! Omg you finished the Quaker Sister sampler! Great work! I can’t wait to see how you display them!! 1/?
The Leshy is gorgeous!!!! One of my favs you've done, I think!! Such a cool one. I love the caribou in the stitch along! That may be my fav animal on there so far- so cute!! How is it a clue if you saw the completed piece already? Like don't you already know what it will be? Hi Julia!! :) Speed stitcher! haha :) I can't tell that the stitches are "messy" or anything - it looks great to me through the video!! And yes the back doesn't matter - I do love seeing it, though haha!! It's like a little secret second image on the back! I usually paint/draw so there's no secret other side to most of my pieces... unless it's a marker piece!! haha Who would hoard supplies for hobbies?? haha *nervous glances* OH MY GOSH that winter house stitch is gorgeous!! Looks great!! 2/3
@@JillPlusBooks Hi Jiiilll!! :) For the Arctic Animal SAL - I haven't seen the completed piece yet! There are a certain number of clues that have already been released, but there are a few that haven't been released yet. Right now it looks like the top half is all released, but there's still stuff UNDER the arctic foxes and the walrus! I agree about Julia's stitching, you can't tell that it looks 'messy', but I'm sure you know the feeling of being critical of your own work... ;) I was thinking earlier while stitching on Needs No Paint if I've ever shown the back of that one on a video. I can't remember, but it's something I've been meaning to do since I know you like to see it haha... I just often don't even think about it!! Yeahhh I am really trying to resist that urge to hoard supplies!! Or even buy new patterns... I have SO MANY already!! Also agree about the winter house it's looking sooo amazing!
LOVE those socks!!! So nice! That blankie is gorgeous! What would you even do to fix a hole in it? Would you like... try to knit it back together? Or would you be able to like... sew a patch into it? haha So close to 500 subs!! <3
As usual a great update.Beautiful finish and FFO, You did really well. Take care💜
Hi Kate, ❤❤ thank you for this video. You are doing fantastic on Needs No Paint. 👍🎉 Congratulations 👏🎉 on wiping down your projects. ❤
Thanks for the comment Judith!! Can't wait to see it all finished!
Really enjoyed the wip parade. Great wips! So nice to meet your friend. Take care💜
I’d greatly appreciate it, if you would share any notes on the Radvent sweater. I’ve always wanted to make it!
It was a really great pattern to knit! I made a couple changes - I made the sleeves symmetrical, but the pattern has the yarn fading all the way from wrist to wrist. I also used 2x2 ribbing on the sleeve cuffs and the edge of the sweater - I believe the pattern calls for 1x1 rib (maybe twisted). There were a lot of ends to weave in.. I wish I had weaved them in as I went... but it only took me a couple days to weave them all in. Let me know if there's anything else you're wondering about!!
Hi Kate. Thank you for another great video. Hello to Julia. I'm so happy you have someone to stitch with. Your wips are coming along nicely. I love your wipdown challenge. I need to join you because I have way too many dormant wips that I need to get back to.❤
Yes! I still think I don't really have THAT many wips, but it started to feel like too many for me... I love seeing your projects so definitely share with me if/when you finish one! :)
Julia's full coverage would make a nice pillow. I think the dark green "background" is really good with this - better than the black would have been. Kate - your Irish linen - how about soaking it for a few minutes in a lukewarm water bath - it might soften it and would feel better in your hand. The other thing is to put it in a Q-snap so that you are not actually holding the fabric in your hand. I hope this helps. Your idea of reducing the palette for the Advent project with MFE & Roxy is good because I remember Kerri saying in one video that she was not doing 25 new colours because that had proved to be a bit too much so this year it will be a reduced palette so that some threads will be used more than once in the design. Also it is more of a sampler style this year so the colours are sampler muted. This is according to that video where they talked about the advent box for this year. You should email Evertote and ask for basic info that was already explained or ask which video mentioned these details.
Thanks for the comment! I will try soaking that linen... it couldn't hurt! I do put it in a Q-snap to stitch, but there's still just something about the fabric that doesn't feel good to me. I have been meaning to find the video where they talk about the countdown... I also want to know what size the fabric will need to be!
Your sweater came out GORGEOUS!!! Love it! I love your button choice!!!!! Your shawl looks amazing, too. I love the geometric lines and how they look when worn!! Beautiful. I'm working while I watch - thanks for keeping me company! Excellent use of the blue thread in your Stitch for Pride piece to make it look variegated!! Beautiful. Elemental Dragons: Water looks AMAZING!! I love it! I feel like it would look amazing as a bag flap! OHH it would look great in a bathroom, too! haha (I just heard what you're going to do with it). Lovely teacup piece! Congrats on all your finishes, well done!! Comment 1/?
KATE your Needs No Paint is coming along so WELL!!! WOW! Great work! one thing that's really interesting to me about you starting this piece nearly 4 years ago: Do you find your skill/speed/style has changed much since starting? I've got a painting on my easel I started YEARS ago and never completed. During that time, my taste/style/skills have changed a bit, so I'm curious what it'll look like when I complete it! Do you find having long-term projects is interesting to reflect on your growth during the process? I'm pumped for the next season of Stranger Things! And I think it's such a great idea for you to work on your piece while re-watching! Love that! It sucks that you're not enjoying the Ragnorok piece! Do you have any pieces that you'd choose to never finish? Like in book terms - do you have any DNFs of pieces? Would you ever start a piece as a cross stitch and do another page as like a drawing, another as a photo, another as a painting, Knit, perler beads.... like something mixed media? Not sure if that's something that anyone would ever do! It's something that interests me coming from a Fine Art background - so just curious! Omg Ophelia is coming out amazingly! Ahh that spooky piece is coming out awesome! Do you often do outlines and then do fill-ins? I don't know why I always pictured cross-stitch more like a printer - going line by line! HOLY MOLY that piece on the gridded fabric is HUGE! (Sorry working while listening so missed the name) Are there ever HUGE cross stitch patterns like this where you can buy like different "resolutions" of it? like if you wanted to do that piece in a more simplified way so it's like a quarter the size where the colours are compressed or something? Comment 2/??
Those little cross-stitched animals are so cute. Ohh the stitching piece for Brenda is coming along amazing! I love the realistic look you're capturing with the floss!! It's so cool to see the realistic values... does it feel different for you when you're revealing something through stitching that looks so realistic contrasted with the more graphic looking pieces? I find art I make that looks more realistic feels different than more cartoony or design-based. UFO?? Is this like a DNF? It was really cool seeing your friend Julia!! Hi Julia!! :) Amazing work on that first project, and great start on the next!! It was really cool seeing you have a guest on your video, Kate!!! I CARE! I'd love to see Julia on again! :) Thanks for making another vid, Kate! And thanks for keeping me company while I work. :) Comment 3/3
@@JillPlusBooks Hi Jill!! :) My stitching HAS changed a lot since I started Needs no Paint! I don't think you can tell from looking at it, but I know that my process/approach has changes a lot as I figured out the way I want to stitch full coverage pieces like that... Haha I think you answered your own DNF question - you saw my "UFO", which stands for Unfinished Object. For Ragnarok, it won't be a UFO, it will be a "restart". I think that fabric will be more tolerable to use up for like little ornaments or something. Your mixed media idea is interesting! I had never thought of alternating page by page, but I have thought about and seen some interesting examples of mixed media. You can combine different kinds of stitching, but you can also like paint on a fabric and add stitching for texture. The perler bead idea reminds me of beads, I have a few pieces that incorporate beads... so yeah there's lots of possibilities! As for doing outlines vs going line by line... It depends on the pattern. On a full coverage piece I do closer to line-by-line, but on a more graphic piece like that Leshy one it is easier and more efficient with thread to follow the colours. There ARE different resolutions - I hinted at that when I was talking about the African Mammals piece. That company (Heaven and Earth Designs) often has multiple options for an art piece including mini and supersized. The African Mammals is a mini... but shockingly my Stitching Shelf - the huge one - is 'just' a normal-sized chart. MANY people actually choose the supersized version of that which is EVEN BIGGER than mine. It's so amazing to see people make a lot of progress or finish a piece that big. It is just so. much. WORK! I'm glad you enjoyed the section with Julia, it was really fun recording it with her! I'll let her know there's at least one person looking forward to an update on her work! Hope your work day is going well!! 💙
Finally found time to watch your newest video!! Not sure if you heard of it, but the game Valheim has been taking up a lot of my usual UA-cam time ;) hehe! It's really cool that your stitch from pride piece was a Frieda Kahlo inspiration piece! Looks great! Love the yellow on the fabric! LOVE the toyshop!!!!!! Looks so lovely finished! I still find it hard to choose whether I liked it more without the black outlines - looked so good without, and ALSO looks so good with!!! Can't wait to get my friendship bracelet.... ;) haha Needs no paint! I LOVE seeing those beautiful braided colours of the thread that's waiting to get stitched into the piece. Those critters are so cute!!! I really like the choices you're making with your pieces - really makes your version really unique to you!! The Elemental dragons piece looks great!! I love seeing your parents' crafts!! <3 The Merry Christmas looks GORGEOUS - the white on the blue - LOVELY! The dice bag is gorgeous!! Well done!!! Oo!! Lots of cool goodies! Omg I love he Pumpkin Snail House!! I LOVE the Floral Dream pattern!! Gorgeous! Great video!! :) Love the camera changes!!!!! I'm glad I got to catch up!!
Thanks for watching as always Jill! It means a lot that you took some time out of your Valheim schedule to watch. 😆 Yeah Toy Shoppe was sooo satisfying. I think I like it better with the backstitch, but I can see what you are saying! I ALMOST didn't do the French knots for the snowflakes for that reason... I really liked how it looked without them. But it makes it a little more Xmas-y. I hope I can start either Floral Dream or Moonglow next year... making myself finish Ophelia first!! See you soon (probably in Valheim)!
Your finishes look great. Love the finish by Dimensions, Toy Shop. Beautiful stitching. Take care💖
Nice to hear from you! :) Thanks for the kind comment!
It was so nice to see you. Beautiful stitching, you did really well. Crafty family😊. Take care💖
Hi Kate. I love your Candy Shop finish. You are making such great progress on your wips. I am also loving the Nora Corbett charts. Great fabric color choices. ❤❤
Hi Judith! Thank you 💙 I can't wait to start those Nora Corbett charts! They are so pretty.
Your mom flew through that MFE piece! Tell her I love it. I'm so glad she enabled me on that blue Roxy fabric it's gorgeous. Can't wait to use mine.
Any idea what you might stitch on it?? It's really beautiful.
@makingthingswithstring Don't have a pattern in mind yet, but a christmas MFE or quaker is high on my list of possibilities.
❤❤❤
Your leftover floss could be used for a bookmark, needlebook & scissor fob, small pillow, etc. - any small. I would certainly not toss it since it was good enough to stitch a large piece. Even a gift tag for any occasion.
Great suggestions! Thank you ☺
@@makingthingswithstring Forgot to mention I am in Winnipeg.
Oh I can't wait to see your tiny stitching! Elemental Dragons is looking fabulous! I need to catch up with you on that one. Oh, and my Radvent cardigan has been sitting on my craft table staring at me since I joined the two sides. Maybe I'll get the stitches picked up for the hem this weekend.
Yeah, I think I'll be trying to finish up Elemental Dragons pretty quick since it's a smaller piece... then we can start the Hummel Kids kits! ;) I can see how the hem could be a little daunting - that's a lot of stitches to pick up!
Enjoyed your video Kate, you've been busy. Love your fabric choices for the Nora Corbett projects, looking forward to seeing your starts on those.
I can't wait either!! I've loved those two charts for a long time. Might have been better to start with those rather than Ophelia... that dress is massive!
Your voice is so soothing and I love your two camera set up! Glad you got to visit charting creations. Happy stitching and good luck with the tiny stitching 💜
Thank you for watching and for the kind comment! I am excited to try the tiny stitching!!
I just saw the Toy Shop and Coffee Shop Dimensions kits and saved them to my wishlist. Can't wait to see this fully stitched ❤
Have you ever stitched a Dimensions kit? This is my first one - it's so cool!
Hi Kate! Glad to see you again. I'm so very sorry to hear about your grandma 💜💜💜
Thanks Danielle! Glad to see you too. :)
Love the May Stitch for Pride piece! Gorgeous! Love that gingerbread house, too. Beautiful Seasons Greetings piece, too! It must feel so good completing these smaller projects when you also have the larger ones on the go! I LOVE Ophelia. I think it's turning into one of my favs that you've done! the colour of the fabric is GORGEOUS!! How does this compare in difficulty to like Needs No Paint? I LOVE the toy shop piece. I can't believe how close to done it is!! It looks very painterly! I'm so glad you're documenting it before the backstitching. It DOES look so cool! It's got some excellent values that really makes it look "realistic" compared to a lot of other pieces. Arctic animals = cuties patooties. Love that one!! looks so good on that darker fabric. It's one of my fav greys, for sure! Gorgeous! I love that you greyed it yourself! Stunning! I love the super-close up shot where we get to see the actual Xs of the stitches! Pretty cool!! 1/2
2/2 Antique Cups and Spoons looks like such a good stitch pattern! Such a beautiful choice for your grandmother's memory. <3 Ohh I love the colour choices! They're gorgeous! I love that dragon bag! Such cool project bags. How/where do you store your project bags? (Sorry if I missed that somewhere in your vid/vids! I'm doing some other things while watching today). Also - it's cool you're doing a buddy stitch! Thanks for sharing your mom's progress! I love hearing that! :D Do you think she'd ever want to record a little update segment herself for one of your videos? So cute!! OH nice work, Kate's dad!! Wow, he's been knocking it out of the park! Sock madness was really cool. Will you participate next year? omg those are really cool socks! haha with a little dangle. Kind of reminds me of a graduation cap. yea, the bits dangling wouldn't be awesome wearing - the cats would probably have loved it, though! haha Knit back and forth! that sounds wild! You're all socked out! Ohh you've been commissioned to do a crochet! DICE BAG! Ohh that's so cool - crochet and then cross stitch on top!! I can't WAIT to see that! Great video! :) <3 I appreciate you TOO! ;)
@@JillPlusBooks Hi Jill!! Ophelia is a little more difficult to stitch than Needs No Paint... because the pattern for Ophelia is a physical pattern I highlight as I complete stitches, whereas Needs No Paint is digital and I use the app. Also, eventually, Ophelia has a bunch of beads to add - that's a little more complicated than Needs No Paint! But I do really love it too... it's going to be amazing when it's all done. I'll have to show it to you in person, it's even more impressive! My project bags are stored in a wardrobe thingy we have in our living room, along with a bunch of other craft stuff. I should show that off sometime... I recently tidied it up a bit. I think I will do sock madness again! It's totally worth all the free patterns, and it's a fun challenge! 💙
I'm so glad you enjoyed Sock Madness! It's such a fun way to try a bunch of new things on a small scale, and it really is amazing that they keep doing it year after year with no charge at all to participate. Some of the patterns from previous years are on Ravelry for free too, if you need to add any patterns to your queue. 😇 And I don't think I realized that the water dragons piece was your first Ink Circles! How fun!
Yes I noticed there are lots of patterns to download! I haven't yet... I probably should. And yes I am really excited, I've seen so many beautiful Ink Circles patterns. So excited to be stitching one finally!
Great video Kate and beautiful stitching 😍 Thanks for keeping me company and thanks for mentioning the Cross Stitch SALendar ❤️
Thanks for watching and for the lovely comment! And for the SALendar!
I love the socks! I'm so happy you are going strong with Sock Madness. The mustard color socks with the lace look fantastic ❤🎉
Hi Kate, is your qsnap size for Needs No Paint 11x11? Nice job on Needs No Paint 🥳👍 and Toy Shop.
Hi Kate. I'm back. I had to take a bit of a hiatus from flosstube. ❤
Hi Kaity (is this spelling correct?) - I am new to your channel and it was Sarah's Stitchy Spot who shouted you out. For the hemstitch, you can look at Jacob of MFE who has a drawn thread hemstitch video. He taught us to do it at Jacob Palooza last October. I am going to Stitch North Fall in October this year. I am going with Samantha The Hygge Stitcher who is a friend from my Embroidery Guild in Winnipeg and her friend Arica from BC who is Fibers and Floss Canada on her floss tube. Lizzy B's in Winnipeg - an embroidery shop - has grime guards if you are interested. Loved your video, thank you.
I have watched a hem stitch video by someone else, but I’ll check out Jacob’s as well! It was hearing about his tutorial at Jacobpalooza that made me want to try the technique. I hope you have an amazing time in October!! I follow both Samantha and Arica on UA-cam! Thanks for the tip about the grime guards, I’ll have to look into that shop, I assume you can order from them online? I don’t need the grime guard as much since I started using a lap frame (I don’t touch my piece as much stitching that way), but it would still be nice to have one!! Thanks for the kind comment, Nicole!
@@makingthingswithstring Maybe I will get to Stitch North in the spring one day and will meet you there.
How wonderful to attend with your Mom! We were at table 12 with the infamous Debby who made the floss drops with the old cross stitch patterns! Maybe we will meet next year!
Hi Kathy! Thanks for your comment. Those floss drops were very cool! I hope we do meet next year! Have you registered? My mom and I and some of the ladies from our table have registered for weekend 1. So looking forward to it again already!!
Lovely video, Kate. I enjoyed seeing your projects. Wonderful stitching. I don’t knit, but was quite amazed with the complexity of your socks. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Thanks Sarah! Your comment means a lot 😊 These are the most complex socks I've ever knit... they seem daunting at first, but if you just follow the pattern everything works out! I bet it's the same as specialty stitches in cross stitch, though I haven't tried many of those yet!
Thank you for sharing your experience. Great progress. Take care💖
Thanks for the shout out! It was nice meeting you!
I love the Stitch for Pride piece! Great work! Aww, little bewbies. I thought they were little homes at first! Great progress on Needs No Paint! It's so beautiful! You had a really busy month with Sock Madness and Stitch North!! "Grimeguard" sounds like a rat paladin or something... But I didn't even consider that fabric could get dirty while you're working on it!! Sneaky! I LOVE the toyshop stitch!!! It has almost a watercoloury look without the outline threads! Nice progress on Quaker Sister Sampler! The little bunny head reminds me a little bit of Donnie Darko, haha! I think once the rest of the bunny is done it won't remind me of that anymore haha. I love the butterflies! and the letters DO look super fun to stitch! They're so interesting! Stitch North sounds like it was AWESOME! I'm glad you went! :D <3 I'm so glad you got to go with Andrea!! Oh wow, I don't know if I prefer the Happy Place with or without the backstitching! I find I have this issue with paintings, too. Like, sometimes I'll paint something and outline it, and another time I'll just leave the paint as-is. It's so interesting seeing the comparison! Thanks for sharing your mom's piece! :) I'm so glad you had a KICKASS table!!!! That sounds great!! Awesome to meet a subscriber! That's so cool!! Comment 1/?
Congrats on winning the raffle! It's always fun to win some goodies!! The pillow and pins are so cute!! It's great that there's a freebie table that people can pass along things they won't use! Lots of goodies going to good homes. Woah, there's a lot of goodies in the swag bag! And gifts?! Lots of stuff - the project bag is gorgeous! I think it'd be really cool to see a video that's just you getting a project bag ready! I'd love to see what goes into one, and what kinds of things you keep in it!! Love seeing your purchases, too! I love when you show your floss purchases because often they're very Kate Colours! Like that beautiful goldy mustard-dusty rose-yellow! Such beautiful flosses!! Holy crap those socks are intense!! Master-level sock-making! So do the patterns getting more and more challenging? Congrats on making that last spot!!! Wahoo!! Oh my god those last socks are the coolest socks I may have ever seen!!! I'm glad it wasn't too bad for you to do, but well done! Incredible socks! I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like them!!! Incredible! Good luck on the next round of Sock Madness! 7 spots?! eek!! Exciting! Is it 7 spots out of the whole big group that attempted it? or just from your team? How big are the teams? Comment 2/2
@@JillPlusBooks Hi Jill!! 🙂 Re: the grimeguard and dirty fabric - I don't usually notice it, but on a piece like that that takes years to finish, a little bit of dirt each time you touch it accumulates slowly over time! I like the idea of a group of rat paladins or a militia or something called the Grimeguard 😆 Yeah I love the contrast between before and after backstitching... I will probably do the same thing with Toy Shoppe - save the (rest of) the backstitching till the end and take a pic before and after so I can see the difference it makes! Showing what goes into a project bag is a good idea! I can show that on my next video. I imagine it might be different from person to person, but I can show what all I have in mine. I can't wait to start stitching with some of my Very Kate Colours! I love seeing the collections of hand-dyed floss because there are often some really unique colours you wouldn't see in like a commercial brand. For sock madness, the 7 was for each team! Next time there is just 1 per team! At the beginning of the competition there were about 50 people in each team (and the Teams were A-Z, so 26 teams I think).
@@makingthingswithstring Excited to see your project bag vid!! <3 And 7 per team makes sense!! I thought it was like down to 7 people TOTAL! How many teams are there?? Edit - I just reread your comment to see that there were probably 26 teams!!! Wild!!! I hope you crush them ALL!!! Friendly-like of course.
What a great flosstube and recap of StitchNorth 2024 week 1. I thoroughly enjoyed my first, but not last, cross stitch retreat which was made even more special by meeting you, Kate, your Mom and the rest of our lovely tablemates. I'm looking forward to spending time together again next year and was happy to add to your project bag collection.
Hi Chris! Thanks for the kind comment. I think I will put Ophelia, my Mirabilia project, in your project bag... it's my "bookiest" project. :)
Amazing SN weekend 1 it was for sure! This was my second time attending. I think we were not too far from your table…I was at table 29…the Northern Needleworkers’s table of two. I also came around and handed out handmade floss drops that looked like clouds. The ones you showed that didn’t have a name to them….note to self to add my name for future giveaways! 😆 I am planning on going next year week one. Hope to see both you and your mom! Happy stitching 🧵
Thank you for the floss drops!! haha... I definitely learned a thing or two for next year as well. We are planning to be at weekend 1 next year as well, so I hope to see you there for sure!!
I'm stitching my stitch4pride April drop now! Should be a finish tomorrow. I'm actually using a floss from brin and nedle that I got on my trip 🥰 Thanks for the mention! It was so nice meeting you and your mom ❤
Can't wait to see what your April Stitch4Pride looks like with the Brin & Nedle floss!
Your finished box is amazing! So creative. Love seeing the progress on No More Paint. I'm planning on starting one of her horse patterns this year. Your knitting is beautiful also. Have fun at Stitch North...can't wait to hear about it.
Thanks for the kind comment! Do you know which Jill Claire horse you want to stitch??
@@makingthingswithstring I purchased Lakota Sees Blue and Rock Seekers...think since I just started cross stitching, I will start Rock Seekers. I should make it my Leap Year project. 😏
@@Aspen_stitcher They are both beautiful charts! Good idea for the leap year project!
Love your FFO! Great idea. The bottle from stitch from pride is beautiful. You are keeping up with your goals, well done. Love the socks, congratulations. I have 3 projects that I am trying to keep up.... and am I doing it until April😊😊😊😊. Take care💖
Thanks for the comment! Good luck on your 3 projects!! Hope you made good progress.
That box is gorgeous!! Great work on finishing it off so awesomely!! Whoever gets it is going to love it!! :) <3 It's so cool that it ends as a functional item- such a great idea! I love the sriracha bottle! Such a great pattern and great work on it! It's awesome that you're keeping up with Stitch for Pride! I think the bottle would make a great ornament!! Great idea. Awesome work on the Needs No Paint! So exciting!! It's GORGEOUS!! Congrats on cracking that 50% mark! Good idea to leave the house so you can get it later! The asteroid field is coming along awesome! The shop front is so lovely. I think that piece is going to be so warm and sweet when you're done! The African animals piece - it's so cool seeing the head emerge from the stitches! That's so satisfying!! Nice bag!!! And those socks you've been making are gorgeous! Great knitting skill in these socks! They're gorgeous! Congrats on getting through to round 3! that's really cool!
Thanks Jill!! You are like my cheerleader - your comments make my day!
That box looks stunning 🤩
Thank you!! I am pretty pleased with it, especially since it was my first time trying something like that!
Yay, you are doing so well with Sock Madness 🎉🥳👍🤸♀️❤. How many rounds will there be
There are 7 rounds! I'm sure I won't make it through all those rounds... but once you've qualified you get all the patterns, so that was really all I was hoping for. :)
Hi Kate. I'm so happy you liked the bag. Feel free to iron out the shipping wrinkles. I had to squeeze it in the envelope 😂❤. Your Needs No Paint wip is looking so good. Your socks are beautiful ❤❤. You are so talented.
I will give it a good iron!! I think the creases show up a little more on camera? I hadn't really noticed them!
Also, sock madness mods have to wait for the designer for the round to be available for questions (and for enough mods to be around to support everyone), so that may be why they're holding out until after Easter.
Yes, it definitely makes sense! They all deserve to enjoy the holiday weekend.
Ok when you said "meatier WIPs" I heard meteor WIPs and spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure out if there was some sort of metaphor for them revolving in like a year long orbit that made them count as something more than just an ornament. 😝
🤣 While I was editing I misunderstood MYSELF the same way lol...
Thanks for sharing your stitchy goodness. You may want to change needle size to get a tighter fabric so they will fit your foot better. I'm surprised that your patterns not show different stitch counts to fit different knitter's feet. Good luck on continuing with Sock madness MAL. 😺
Thanks for the comment! The patterns do include different sizes and directions for knitting with different needle sizes, but for the competition there is always a minimum size you need to knit, so I have just been picking that regardless of whether it would fit me so I meet the requirements and can knit as quickly as possible. I've also considered knitting with smaller needles, but knitting the tighter fabric can be hard on my hands! I am happy to knit some bigger socks that I can give away as gifts. :)
Please stop this pronoun garbage.
Could you please explain what a WIPGO board is and how does it work? Thanks.❤️🇨🇦
Yes! It's a year-long challenge that was created by Jessie of Jessie Marie Does Stuff. You create a BINGO board (5x5 grid, numbered 1 - 25) and in each square you put a specific project or stitching prompt of some kind and a goal. Every month, Jessie draws 2 numbers and everyone tries to complete those 2 squares on their boards. Jessie has some videos explaining it in more detail, but let me know if you have any more questions! It's a fun way to make sure you get certain things done and randomize a bit what you work on.
@@makingthingswithstring Ahhaaaaa. I see. Thanks for the explanation. I’ve watched so many Flosstubes, even though I’m not a stitcher, but a Diamond painter. I’ve never known exactly what it is. Thanks again. ❤️🇨🇦
@@loiscassels8966 Diamond painting and cross stitch have very similar vibes, to me! Thanks for watching :)
Really great video. There's a lot of stitching, you did really well. Unfortunately I purchase one AI design. I am going to stitch it, well I already start it last year... it was the first one and it will the last one, I hope. good luck for the knitting socks event🧦. Really will be enjoying your progress. Take care💖
Yes, if you bought it might as well stitch it right! I've noticed quite a lot of AI charts on HAED lately. I finished my 2nd pair of socks!! It's been a really fun event so far! Good to hear from you :)
Absolutely love how No More Paint is turning out! I also love your Modern Folk finish Winter Birds....so adorable!
Thank you!! I love them both as well. Can't wait to fully finish the Birds in Winter piece, I bought all the supplies the other day!
I love your Hydra Scales! Industrial Kingfisher has always been my favorite Stranded colorway. I hope your round 1 socks are going well! I've found that I can get most of the competition patterns to fit me with the minimum requirements, but sometimes I do adjust needle sizes to make it work. Or like you said, someone I know gets lucky with a gift pair. 💕Also, I bought the kit for the Hello Dimensions SAL from amazon months ago and it just arrived last week and I can't decide if I want to try to catch up or not. Decisions, decisions.
Oh! I have a Needles Treasures Hummel kit too! Mine has two kids under an umbrella in the rain. We should do a stitch along!
Do you really?? I would love to do a stitch along with those! My round 1 socks are coming along! Just on the gusset on my 2nd sock... after having to buy an emergency needle replacement today... my Lykke circular needle snapped! Replaced with my standard ChiaoGoos. Tricky to decide about starting the Hello Dimensions SAL piece... but we're not THAT far into it! Although if you've got other stitchy goals and socks to knit furiously, maybe a SAL with specific end goals would just be stressful? I'm really enjoying mine though!
