While I'm thinking about it...technical question: The Lyra's are hand-tuned...does that mean there is no real "break-in", as the cartridge's sound has been established at Lyra? If there is actual break-in, won't that impact the desired sound? FWIW, each Lyra I've installed over the years sounded great immediately and I never really noticed change over 50, 100 hrs,

I have gone through a Lyra Argo (i), two Lyra Delos', and now use the Kleos SL, which is really a very nice cut above the Delos. I use the Luminous Audio Technology ARION II phono pre (64 dB) with fantastic results. I'm putting on ~600-700 hrs/year, and I get a lot of hours out of the Lyra's, I but still can't justify the Etna SL or Atlas SL at such a consumable rate at this point. But who knows what mood I'll be in when replacement time comes...

Jeff, Nice video. Very interested in SOTA myself...either the Nova VII (w/vacuum & Eclipse package) or the Cosmos Eclipse (w/vacuum). Having a hard time justifying the cost difference, but still investigating. Also, it really looks like your table there is Cherry (not Walnut...unless it is a very light walnut and the camera is tricking me).

Reading about it gives you no true idea of it's size! 😂 Way, way too big really for any but the largest of listening rooms. Thanks for the video, that was fun!👍

I've been using Lyra carts exclusively since 1999. I'd love to move up to an Atlas or Etna but I put 700-900 hours on a cart every year. That makes for a pretty expensive maintenance cost every 12-18 months, so I limit myself to a Kleos.

Hi, thanks for this helpful video. The manual shows 6 - 16 grams cartridge balance range. Does that mean 4 or 5 grams cartridges won't be a good match for the TA-1000 NEO? Interestingly, the previous non-NEO version of the tonearm suggests 4 - 16 grams cart balance range.

It is possible that there is not enough dampening fluid in the lift. Before talking to your dealer about a replace. Try exercising by raising and lower 10 times (not using a record). If the problem persists, contact your dealer.

Hi, is there any way to slow down the speed of the lift of this tonearm? Mine is lowering too fast, and the cartridge hits the Lp too abruptly. Thanks!

Sota is just wonderful. Mine is a Star Sapphire iii from 1992 with vacuum. It also has a mod of a Cosmos bearing. You are going to love it . They are incredibly reliable and make real music.

HI just bought the KC Vibe to replace my Project DS2. My Project started losing channel separation on my Mofi Ultradeck. I noticed you had the DS2 in the background on this video. Have you ever heard of this issue, it would play but like the song Girl from Ipanema the woman’s was totally muffled and distant yet the sax and Joao’s voice was front and center. I bypassed the DS and went directly to my Receiver and it played perfect. If you have any input I’d appreciate it. Thank you

Had the KC Vibe two years ago. Loved it. Would still own mine but moved up to a MC cart and traded it in for an Aria MKIII. Most of my gear is Rega and as they say “Rega likes to play with Rega”! Once had a question so called Sutherland and Ron Sutherland himself answered and helped me out. Talk about customer service!!

Ive got a system consisting of used speakers that cost £75, a free 30 year old Harman Kardon amp, a £25 pre amp and a used technics turntable that cost me £150 to service, and in the space I have to use it, it sounds wonderful. Gives me about 200 grand spare to buy another house.

I had that same arm then upgraded to the TA 5000. Great sounding arm and well engineered apart from one thing. The counter weight has 3 grubscrews to nip up to keep in place once set. Only one needs nipping the 3 positions just help with access. The problem with this design is it is not good engineering as you have a grub screw bearing down on a thread which is ridiculous to any skilled engineers mind. I put broken matchstick down the hole to protect the threads, but then it wont tighten firm enough which isn't good. Over time you finish up with a damaged thread on the stub. On tonearms costing many thousands Acoustic Signature should do better than this as this is typical on all their arms so I would not buy another. Last year I upgraded again to the Origin Live Agile, which is a better design and engineering, apart from the rest clip which is plastic and breaks. I find this arm sonically is far superior but it is expensive. The A.S. Decks are excellent I have the Thunder but even on that one slight poor design on the Tonearm fixing collar but not a serious one I wont go in to, but really kit in this price bracket should be better refined. Excellent design engineers with great minds, but many of them have never done anything practical on the bench, and its the hands on craftsmen that see these flaws instantly.

For what that thing cost, it should come with a high-quality AM/FM/FM-HD receiver and separate physical controls for bass, midrange, treble, loudness, etc. What a joke.
