In this video, I am showing off my now completed ho scale 3985. This project has been going on for the better part of a year and has gotten to where it is now through much trial and error. This locomotive has 9 lighting functions, hand painted detailing (cab, whiste, safety valves, etc), cab figures, removable smoke deflectors, and a custom bell & whistle programmed by me. I'm very happy to say...

Hello! This is my 3985 challenger running at the suncoast model railroad club. This video is supposed to be a start to me posting more on UA-cam and being more consistent overall. I apologize for my absence for the past few weeks in the inconsistent uploading. I replaced the weathered parts with new parts on the challenger so it looks like it did when it rain excursions. I plan on making a new ...

This is a current project I'm working on. the engine is broadway limited and the temder is off of a bachman Niagra. It has primer paint applied (what you see in the video) and I plan on painting it up with NYC streamlining. I also plan on adding loksoundv5 in it, as well as fire box lights, cab lights, and running board lights above the wheels. #hudson #newyorkcentral #hoscale #modeltrains #train

Finally, a UP edit
The 558 is better than the 1309
Great sounds, just like the challenger.
I saw your video when came out a yr ago and feel the same way then as i do now it's a awesome layout regardless what goofy comments are said you built it, you put lots of hard earned labor and time and money i knw theres other that may be flawless or whatever people complain about, point is i think its still awesome love all the details back ground cool and the the traffic on the road way is cool 😎 i am hoping after the 1st of the year i can find a deal where someone's selling complete package or on rolling stock, and or steam engines, diesel engines or build one from scratch, it will be happening either way after the 1st of the year, my compliments sir and thank you for sharing
steve lee must be blinded by that cab light being on all the time
wow that whistle brings back some memories of the one and only time I got to see 3985 running.
@@wolfen216 I'm glad you like it! I designed the whistle myself amd it's been in many iterations before this.
Bro really said ⚜️🐻
That layout is HUGE. Nice footage. A couple times it looked like actual footage of the 4014.
Nice
UP 3965 with Steve Lee at the throttle. Both are Union Pacific through and through. Can't wait till the Challenger returns to the main line rails and hooks up a triple header with 4014 and 844. Then UP can say the word DONE! again. Great video.
3:53 must be really strange driving on of those ... you come around the bend for the 400ths time today and your just about to clock off and pick up jimmy from school and what do you see but a like 400ft tall man with a video camera ...
0:31 you know i know i should be focusing on the train but i see that car there and i wonder what its story was .. who drove it there how did it end up in the river ? was it part of some insurance fraud ? is there a dead mobster in the boot ? did jimmy get drunk one night and desire driving home drunk was a good idea ? so many question we will never know the answer too
I want all of them in ho scale
Nice 👌
Looks and sounds amazing! Great job!
I love this locomotive...
Challenger Is united with his two Brothers Big Boy and UP 844
Now that is what I call a good edit
Nicely done. I understand that you do all the modifications on these model trains yourself. That's a real skill. I always enjoy your videos. I see great things for you in the future. Keep up the awesome work.

3:44 That’s some beautiful footage of 4014 against the blue sky with scattered clouds.
Funny how the only way i know its 3985 and not 4014 is by the number on the train or the smoke deflectors
Dude, great edit! 👍🏻
That last clip of the train passing through the forest next to a river is really beautiful!
Great video thank you, the train and the cars are beautiful setup. I saw it as it went through oroville, and thought to myself that's the only training existence in the United States of America that doesn't have any bit of graffiti on it.
@@dalesuhre6522 well if you look closely at the yellow box cars, there are spots of light yellow paint that cover up graffiti
Awesome!
Nice catches!
Lookin' good, . . . .
Fake
Yes ! Great footage . I hope see # 4014 in Ft Worth later this year
Outstanding video and thanks for sharing. Dave

Favorite loco, one of my favorite 80's songs, certified banger!
Luckiely, the tunnel is suitable for Big Boy.
Great video, my favorites were coming out of the tunnel and on the far side of the river (Truckee?)
Yeah it was pretty close by there
Beckwourth Pass Tunnel and Middle Fork of the Feather River.
6:50 Great catch of 4014's Stack Hoods! That's why Tunnels are the great places to see the stack hoods in action! If you near a tunnel while chasing 4014, you'll see the hoods!
Yeah I was pretty suprised but it definitely made sense that the 4014 had them on
@@BigPhil-lsNum1 Yeah, if you see more tunnels while pacing 4014, you know what that means? It means you'll watch the stack hoods close or open!
What are the stack hoods for? To minimize smoke in tunnels?
Great video!
Very good. I'm hoping to catch it between Truckee and Sparks this weekend
I think that it has a stop in Colfax.
Nice! ❤ 🚂😊🚀
