So beautiful and so true. I have 4 grandchildren 29, 26 and twins at 24 and they are the best things ever. I envy you that you have grandparenthood coming to you, it's an indescribable love that is so different from any love you've know. I sat with my 4 grandies recently and we were talking and laughing about some of the things we'd done in the past. I was amazed at some of the smallest things they remembered from their very early years, 2 years old and on. Because there were 4 so close in age I was with my daughter at their births and every day of their lives in some way until they all went their own aduly ways but we still see each other all the time. I'd love to go one more step and see and hold their babies but that doesn't seem to be on their agendas. And, yes, I never release the hug first. I'm sorry you don't have that with your Grandmother now but she will never be far from you in your memory 💖
