PART 2! Analogman King of Tone vs Tone City King of Blues (Blooz Dad Takes Manhattan)
This is a redo of another video I did about a year or so ago comparing these two pedals. A lot of people in the comments suggested that I should do it again without the delay or reverb. So here it is! I hope you dig it.

Electro Harmonix Nano Metal Muff Demo
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
Just a quick demo of the Electro Harmonix Nano Metal Muff. This thing is packed with fun, interesting, and usable sounds. The EQ is very powerful which lets you tailor it to any amp. The noise gate is a great addition, but the pedal without it is not as noisy as one might expect, even with the gain cranked up. This one "got its velcro" immediately after I tried it for the first time. It's a kil...
Easy John Petrucci Shred Lick!
Переглядів 276Рік тому
This is a lesson on the really cool lick from Dream Theater's "Overture 1928" off the 1999 album Metropolis 2: Scenes from a Memory. It sounds impressive, it's musically interesting, and once you get the patterns down, it's really easy to play. I spend a lot of time in this video (and generally throughout the course of the day) extoling the virtues of downward pick slanting as it's an indispens...

Cool Single String Lick #1
Переглядів 224Рік тому
This is a quick walkthrough of a cool, easy single string lick in the style of Yngwie Malmsteen. In order to keep it from being too Yngwie, I changed the scale from his usual A Harmonic Minor to E mixolydian flat 6. It actually makes the scale shape a lot simpler and still sounds interesting. I recommend alternate picking starting on a downstroke for the whole thing, both for descending and asc...

A Long Version of a Rick Beato Short

This is an in-depth look at the lick from the end of this Short from the great @RickBeato. ua-cam.com/users/shortsgxvdsHfLmcc?feature=share This is a two-way pick slanting, sweep-picked arpeggio lick. None of that should scare you, by the way. It's a lot simpler than it appears. You're just dragging the pick along the strings, playing consecutive "rest strokes" with the pick (bury the pick into...
Analogman King of Tone vs Tone City King of Blues
Переглядів 16 тис.Рік тому
Happy Halloween everyone (I recorded this the day before Halloween)! Today, I'm comparing the lowly Tone City King of Blues to the mighty, legendary, mythic sounds of the Analogman King of Tone. Does this $50 pedal hold up to this most highly regarded, nearly $1,000 (on the second hand market) holy grail pedal? Watch this mess and find out. I'm including some useful links below. Have fun, and H...
First Coast Amplification 5e3 in an old PA Head!!
Переглядів 1912 роки тому
This little bastard absolutely rips!! It’s quiet enough to get killer gained up tones at home and would be great for recording. It would rock live too, provided you have the appropriate sound reinforcement, and let’s face it, guitar players are under more pressure than ever to keep stage volumes as low as possible (although, with a Fryette Powerstation, you could get the best of both worlds). D...
Does it Shred? Fender ‘65 Princeton Reverb Reissue

Again, I ask the question. Does it shred? Can we get the venerable old Fender Princeton to gain up and give us that liquid lead sound we love so much? Short answer: HELL YEAH!!

Analogman have made another one smaller but with only one push foot buton and with a little switch with 3 positions, and this one is very very close to king of tone the name is Prince of Tone if you can you should check it 👍
I have ear it very well with my headphone beyer dynamic DT770pro and for me the analog always sound with more botton end with a little wider range of frequencies and more harmonics' the tone city is always not far it's true but it always miss something of harmonics it's seems it's a little bit more compress sound and more dry. But it's very close that's right maybe some tweeks don't know. But try it with your head phone it will be better to ear it. Because the room have always a resonance effect. Nice video thank you 👍😊
Oh i forgot the balance of the sound is not centred it's a lityle bit too much on the right. You should check it with your headphone
How much did you get it for?
Awesome Job 👌
Nice shirt!
@@Rocco_S Heh thanks!
Goes to show ya you don't have to spend alot for a good pedal...
I've seen much more blatant ripoffs than this - it's not even the same circuits! The KOT has two transparent overdrives (basically a boutique version of the Bluesbreaker), while the KOB has a TS style circuit on one side and a Klon type circuit on the other. I actually have both a Wampler Pantheon Deluxe (similar to KOT) and a King of Blues in my rig.
First off, "THANK YOU!" for actually using a CLEAN sound!
The gain & master fully cranked on 2watt setting is a vibe. Dig it.
Thanks for video great job. Since you have a rectifier. I’m in search of that late 90s 2000s pop punk tone. Basically a cranked dual rectifier. Any recommendations on what pedal is similar to that? Thanks
@@Poppunkwithbreakdowns The Mesa Throttle Box will get you there. I’d say the metal muff will get close if you’re looking for something cheaper.
I liked it but I think there should be more twang bangin
I have the same issue with a sabre (blue moonstone) I just bought a few months ago. Love the way it sounds and as for the way it looks it's my dream guitar, but the lack of the forearm cut really bothers me sometimes.
I couldn't jive with the fret size either. Ended up selling it (which hurt BAD) and buying a silver sparkle Silhouette which turned out to be a great decision. Cheers
To much delay & reverb to hear the true nature of the pedals
Roger that. Check out part 2!
Bought 15 years ago, Stiller with me, alive and kickin, same footswitch, sabe pots, same sound. Build for war.
All the Fulltone stuff I’ve had has been great 👍🏻
Not for war.. For Machinegun!
Amazing

Lolol Jolly ol st pickolas!!!
I miss videos like this. With all the pedals available, you choose well.
Cheers and and thanks for watching.
TALENTED!
Thanks man.
How is this recorded? There is no mic on the speaker.
Promise not to throw things? iPhone 8+
Good demo and a great sounding pedal. 🎉
What guitar are you using? Would be good to know.
That was a Music Man Silhouette BFR edition in silver sparkle. It's in a few of my other videos. SUPERB instrument!
I owned the 1st version when it was released but regrettably sold it. I found a used newer version last year, never to be sold again! I mainly use it in fuzz mode with the boost rolled back for a sumptuous OD vibe. Can't spot any difference between the two versions but I did own them years apart. If mine died, I wouldn't hesitate to search for another and either version would suite me. Amazing pedal!
Just took delivery of mine today and I’m VERY pleased. Doesn’t sound like any of my other guitars which is why I bought it. Can’t wait to gig with it. Great review, loved listening to your playing 👍
Thank ya kindly. Yeah, Danelectro makes really cool guitars, especially considering the price tag.
Nice💯
This is actually better than 99% of the demo videos out there. SOOOoooo tired of what have become paid or fake infommercials with ludicrous signal chains that sound nothing like reality. This is like hanging out with my buddy while we shoot the crap about all our gear. HAHA! SUBBED! Just keep doing what you're doing, be YOU, and don't become a "character" when the camera is rolling. Great job, bro!
Dude, that’s awesome. Thanks. I’m planning on getting some more videos up soon. Cheers
@@houseofshred3725 Let me know if you need to borrow any gear, I have a S**T TON of it! HAHA!
Oh man, don't tempt me @@michaelyolch79
very helpful, thanks, persuasive tones indeed
Awesome video, man! Your playing is majestic. This is the v1 of the king of blues? They released a v2, it would be terrific if you could make a v1 vs v2 vs king of tone
Thanks for the kind words. I should check out the V2, thanks for the heads up!
I'm sure you've already sold this pedal by now, but it is not a long dash.
plz do this exact same video without the huge amount of reverb/delay completely obscuring the tone of the pedals.
Yeah I think I’m gonna do that. Cheers.
For the love of christ, save some delay for the rest of us.
Roger that. My excessive use of delay and reverb is a hindrance to a lot of people who've watched this. I'm gonna update it at some point. Either way, cheers and thanks for watching.
It would be nice to hear the pedals without the ridiculous amount of echo.
Roger that.
Man these are so awesome. My homie gave me one signed by Gary Clark jr but I haven’t even used it lmao Man ima go plug it in. Thanks for the demo
Yeah, that's a damn good pedal. For sure. The Voodoo Lab Proctavio is one to check out too if you're into old-school octave fuzzes. Cheers.
Bro, you're complaining that the guitar doesn't have that quack sound Like a strat or a Gem. You need to remember that your playing a guitar with 3 HUMBUCKERS. if you want it more snappy, take out that middle chopper pickup and install a SINGLECOIL pickup. Got to use the right tool for the right job. If your going for a nice bluesy tone, you're probably not going to use Metal Zone. 🤷🏾♂️. If you want single coil tone, don't buy a guitar with three humbucker🤦🏾♂️
It's like buying a Corvette and complaining that its no good for off-roading, lol. Cheers.
At 11:58 you started cleanly picking some fast stuff that added instant gravitas to your opinion and certainly caught my attention.
Damn, thanks. Cheers.
When you demo drive pedals, please don’t also use other effects like too much reverb 🙄
The is a terrible demo.
Can’t hear you clearly, can you move farther away from the camera’s mic? Perhaps in the bathroom? Great review btw, really helpful, made my decision.
Lmao moments 🤣 12.35 Ting of Kone 15.45 That’s not what gain means 15.57 yellow bar steward 18.00 Screwed up Keaton
LOL thanks for doing that
It's ugly but sounds great
I think it looks really cool! I bet there's an old box fan or something just waiting to be made into a matching cabinet. I'd rock the hell out of it.
The amp's overdrive is much smoother yet raucous than the tube screamer.
Is the noise gate broken on my Metal Muff if it never lights up on my pedal?
It doesn't engage even when you turn the knob up? If that's the case, I'd wager it's one of two reasons: 1) Your guitar or something else you have in front of the pedal generates enough noise that it defeats the gate or 2) yeah, maybe something's wrong with the pedal. Additionally, listen to see if the gate engages anyway. It might be that it's functioning, but the light is burned out or has come unsoldered.
@@houseofshred3725 I removed the battery and ran it cabled, seem to work perfectly. Even tho my guitar produces very little noise, it's just amazing having the complete silence when strings aren't touched.
@@JohnDoe-iv6gl It's an awesome feeling for sure. Maybe your battery was low on juice.
Great video man, I bought a 75 because it was super cheap and turned out to be my favorite amp! Just got myself the 150 non hd for bass and I'm very excited.
These amps are way underrated imo. They're awesome! Cheers.
website says that engine A is a klone style overdrive and engine B is a bluesbreaker style overdrive like the king of tone.
::shrug emoji:: Maybe there's a V2 or something, but these sounds damn near identical. Cheers.
@@houseofshred3725 yeah they do and it’s awesome!
@@unclefungus7395 I'm in the process of finding substitutes for pedals that seem to have gone up in value for whatever reason recently (Fulltone anything for example). The King of Blues is for sure my KoT stand-in.

Love the way this amp looks, but prefer the versatility of the Fillmore.
Well, it does what it sais on the box..more 'bluesy" bite, that 50 bill..it all depents on taste I quess..enjoyed your playing! Thx ;)
Cheers, thanks. Both are (the same) great pedals.
What guitar strings do you use?
DR's and Daddarrio 9-42's. I know all the cool kids use heavy strings, but I like em light.
@@houseofshred3725 I just bought Silhouette week ago.I try to use 10.But I think I like 9. Whatever Silhouette is awesome.
@@inote7415 I've always been curious about em. I only wish I'd pulled the trigger on one sooner. INCREDIBLE instrument.
