99 Ford Ranger Parking Brake / Emergency Brake Cable Replacement
hallcraftsupply.com
The Emergency or Parking Brake cable snapped.. this is how to get the cable off the brake pedal, and how to replace it.
There's 3 bolts mounting the brake to the side wall of the truck. take em out and it comes off. Then pull the cable through the fire wall and follow it under the truck down the driver side to just below the door where it connects to the rest of the cables. the cable is three separate pieces linked together so figure out where it broke before you get to this point or buy the new cable!
keep in mind, I didn't need a video to fix my truck.. I made this video of myself figuring out what to me was the hardest part, so that if I screwed anything up or forgot anything I could see what I did.

    Dude ,as a tech with 30 yrs wrenching ,your better off pulling all the lines ,and replacing the plugged ones & flushing it & installing a new t-stat and be done,otherwise your not getting all the junk out and allowing a problem to become a repeat offender ,lol…just my two cents..it may not be a cheap fix and sure we can make it run fine,but for how long ? Just saying ..

      most definitely.. a lot was done that wasnt filmed over the course of having that beetle. thermostat, all aluminum coolant flanges, temp sensors, flushed 14 gallons of distilled water through it before adding the Audi coolant, timing belt kit, motor mounts, front suspension, axle, etc. sold it a while ago. bought another 1.8t, hated the 2.0! goal was just to post vids that covered problems I couldn't find already on UA-cam, figured I don't need to make videos other people already have or show you how to do what you already know how to do...

    What is the position of the crank and cam when installing? Should I put crank at TDC on the mark and the cam on the mark of compression stroke? Or do you turn the crank a few degrees btdc?

    There is a hole that lines up with the pedal and side of assembly and a third hole that will align when you pull the cable put a pin through there to slack the cable and set the tension

    Courroie non tendue: Galet bloqué avant le passage de la courroie ! Il faut le débloquer pour que le tendeur tende la courroie une fois que l'épingle est retirée, et le bloquer ensuite.

    What did you use to spray paint it? Any spray paint work? Is it ok to paint?

    • @hallcraft
      @hallcraft 2 роки тому

      Use high temp paint if you can but you can paint it with any spray paint, regular spray paint will fade pretty quick tho. If you ever watch car restoration shows, they just spray paint motors all the time! It's no problem!

      well, ACDelco Professional 18P2634 Front Parking Brake Cable , is the part I got off amazon. What do you mean fix it? its just loose or the cable snapped or the brake drum insides need replacement, if you have drums, could need repair in so many was. I did the job over a year ago so off the top of my head all I can recommend is that you find where its broken first, if you mean there are multiple pieces of the cable, find where it snapped, then brows amazon, put in the truck make n model and it will give matching parts. you can always go to the junk yard and pull a truck apart before doing yours to figure it out too..

    What is the problem that coolant enters the cylinders?

    • @hallcraft
      @hallcraft 3 роки тому

      the Cylinder Head basically overheated and warpped the aluminum causing high and low spots across the bottom of the head, so the head is no longer touching the head gasket in some places no longer holding compression or separating the cylinders from the coolant and oil jackets.

      You don’t have to on the valve cover but make sure it’s completely clean and dry if you’re not going to. You should on the water pump, there’s an oring but cause it’s metal on metal when bolted on, it will create a better seal.
