How was the whole for the lock body morticed out?
So many adjustments only for 1 lock jig... Russian door hinge & lock jigs more precise quick to set. Just search Farid Kamal or Pavel Soldatov or UFK PROFI
What is the model of that jig? I looked on the website and didn’t see it there.
Hi Jane, that one was the prototype. It was the third one out of 6 before we had the final design.

When will there be a jig designed that you can cut the mortice and not have to strip down to cut for the face plate.
There’s nothing as yet but, we use the Souber morticer. It’s quite cheap and quick.

Finished my apprenticeship and just done my first price job last month, have made my money back on it already! 💰

This is a face plate jig plus side aperture jig (rcl/jig which i also designed) combined. When you have allot of repetition of locks the added expense will save you in the long run with the speed as your not moving the trend jig from side to side plus using the faceplate jig. 👍

It depends on the job. I’ve had as little as £3.50 years ago to £25 a lock more recently.

It’s called a corner chisel. Trend sell them. I think they’re about £17.

Yes it’s totally adjustable, there is also a rebate set so it can be fitted to frames with the rebate frames.

Yes, there will be a rebate set to add on top the ends that pushes the jig out 14mm to over sail the rebate.

This jig is completely pointless since you have to do mortice with other tool anyway. If you are using this only for face plate you might as well use router with side fence and router bit sized same as width of plate. Not sure if this is sponsored or not but the price tag on this jig is an absolute joke
Hi Lukas, sorry you don't like the jig, not for everyone I suppose. but the jig doesn't only do the faceplate. it also does the spindle, through bolts and a range of different keyhole types like euro cylinders as well. Although you use something else to do the mortise there is still no quicker way. It takes a minuet to do the mortise and 3 mins to do the rest. ideal for price work.
Why do you do half the spacer on the face plate ?
Hi Jordan, when you set half the spacer that is the offset you need for the guide bush. So when you close the jig in on the full spacer at the bottom that will give you the correct offset all round and still lining up with your spindle height. If you prefer you could add half the spacer above and half the spacer below. You’ll end up with the same result. Hope this makes sense.
@@benweir8173 okay, so half spacer (2mm) at the top and then push face plate tight to the stopper and then add the 4mm spacer at the bottom ? Thanks

At the moment i use an mdf jig. I’m currently working on an adjustable keep jig. If your on Facebook look up B W Jigs. I’ll be putting up into in there.
