Should You Buy A Fruit Saver Steam Canner? Here's What You Need To Know!
Thanks Great Job!!!
@@tomanderson9532 thank you! If you make some let us know how it turns out for you!💕
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy making them! Thanks for watching!💕
I have a glass stovetop too. I have never canned anything, but I want to start. I wanted to start with this steamer, but I thought I couldn't use that steamer bc of the "coil" like design on the bottom of the steamer, which doesn't allow the bottom to be completely flat and it needs be for my type of stove top. That would be so great for me if I was wrong. 😁Please tell me if I'm wrong. Thank you.
My repairman told me the 3 size adjustable burner was specifically for large pots and can be used for canning. Of course I have used it for water bath and pressure canning as well as fruit saver steam canner. How ever, I have heard of some stovetops that are glass cracking from the canner weight and extreme heat, soooo, I guess the only suggestion I can make is that you read your stoves manual and follow it's guidelines. Or call customer service for your brand. Mine is a KitchenAid and the only flat bottom pan I have is the pressure canner. But, I would not wanna tell you you are wrong and have something happen to your stove. It's a risk, and I know that so if I screwed up my stove, that's one thing...it's up to you to use it or not, after you find out more about your stove. Best of luck to you, and thank you for watching💕
Do you think the candy would set up fine if it was poured into silicone molds instead of the cornstarch molds?
@@heidijohnson7231 I’m not sure. Hercules candies uses starch too so that’s why I did it that way. They are still breakable and kinda soft so unfolding might be harder but I would give it a try….it may work just fine! Let me know if you do it! 💕
@@MimisLittleCityHomestead I think that they use the corn starch so that they don't have to purchase so many molds I am going to try making these for Christmas and I am going to do it both ways I will let you know what the difference was
@@Cookielady_1 thank you! I would be interested in knowing how well the molds work. Good luck!💕

Thank you so much! I love Hercules videos and have wanted to try making my own cream candies since watching them! Is there a step 3 showing your method for covering them 😊
@@elizabethv4152 I just hand dipped them in tempered chocolate! But I could do another video showing that too, it is a lot like the Easter candy video as far as tempering but then just dipped however you want to do it. The candy cream centers are soooo yummy! 💕thank you for watching!
Got to make this Dana! Thank you! I need a little pot like yours, may I ask the name of it?😊❤
Hi Sandy! The pot I used on the stove is a 1.25 Qt David Burke Restaurateur pan. I found it at TJ Maxx and bought it because it was a very thick bottom. It's very nice to use to prevent burning. That was about a year and a half ago...but he may have a website. Do try the creamer for sure it's really good. I find I like a whole teaspoon or more of the spice in it. Thank you for watching! I appreciate you! 😀💕
@@MimisLittleCityHomestead , thank you I’m going to see if I can find one…so cute and just right! I will also make the creamer!😃

How much vinegar do you add to the water to keep the film off.
@@Jesuslovesme8 hi! Thanks for watching! I add anywhere from a few tablespoons to 1/4 cup normally. I have a water softener and city water but it takes a good 1/4 cup or so for me. Good luck with your canning!💕

This thing about has to be pressure canned only is not true my great grandma, grandma and my self water bath every thing from meat beans fruit everything and we all survived and I am a71years old what do you think our ancestors persevered thing sure didn’t have a pressure cooked It really up sets me when u all say HAS To Be PRESSURED COOK ONLY….have a blessed wonderful day
@@SharonBarnhart-h7y I know our ancestors canned before pressure canning was available. However new discoveries in canning showed how dangerous it can be to consume certain foods that should be pressure canned when they are not. I always think a person who prefers to can food their own way is their prerogative. But I decided it’s my responsibility to people who see my videos are given today’s proper canning guidelines per the National Center for Home Food Preservation. I myself cannot recommend anything other than safety guidelines on my channel. Safety is my main concern, as this is how I can for my family and friends, but I do appreciate your comment. Thank you for watching! 💕
My clear jel never thickened. It stayed runny and turned very clear
Hi Debbie. Ive not had that happen before. Did you cook it to a bubbling boil before adding the blueberries? It should have thickened during that time. Also you might make sure you have Clear Jel for cooking and not the instant Clear Jel, and double check the measurements. I'm not quite sure why it wouldn't have worked for you. Let me know if you try the clear jel again.
@@MimisLittleCityHomestead figured it out. I was using a teflon pan and not stainless steel. Once I switched pans it worked great
Thankyou for your video, it was very informative. I have 54 blueberry bushes and I was looking for a video of canning them. Have a very Blessed Day 🙌

What happened to the bacon??? How long to process with bacon in them?
The bacon was added to the beans and the processing time that was given in the video was correct for the bacon and beans together. I always use the longest time figuring the added ingredients.
@@MimisLittleCityHomestead thank you ❤️
You're welcome!
I did this recipe it was good but only got 5 qts.
I don’t always get the same amount either. I think it may have to do with soaking and pre cooking beans, like the size or swelling of them. Also how much liquid I end up with. But I am glad you enjoyed the recipe! 💕
I have a steam canner love it

Looks yummy. Cant wait to try. I just started pressure canning a couple years ago and am hoping to start doing soups this fall and winter. Gonna try this one for sure!!
You will enjoy this recipe if you like the Campbell's bean with bacon flavor, it really tastes that good! I plan on doing more this fall and winter with soups that can be canned, watch for those too. Thank you for trying it, I hope you enjoy it. Have you canned any other soups? Im thinking a vegetable beef sounds really good!
I will try this! I love sugarfree hazelnut which for some reason is becoming very difficult and pricey to find … I have one brand the most used brand but to me doesn’t have the same taste so I’m on the hunt to make one I like.
Sorry one brand of flavoring I left that word out
I like this a lot. I think next time I will add up to 2 tsp of the pumpkin spice because I like it spicier
Looks yummy!❤️
Thank you 😋
If you can’t get the suction on that to stick I can give you a little sticky tape to use comes right off when not needed
ok thanks Jeanne!
😊
Looks delicious!! I always make ketchup too. This year I did a small batch called adult ketchup, and it’s probably my new favorite condiment.
Thank you! Yeah this is more of a store taste. no spice bag to hang, no sweetener. I think this is the absolute best ketchup I've ever canned. Seriously! The roaster helped the taste and time was quicker to cook down!💕
