Here's my 1/5th scale jet dragster, it's not quite finished yet but testing is proving ok.
You got to love the impeller spinning at 40+ k right behind you head ! Ps dont let anyone with hair ride . And NICE BUILD 👍 i love turbin engines
What is the speed of this thing my God
It has officially been clocked at 235.49kmh on an airstrip.
@@knobby4 Dam holy crapp that is fast
Eyy, here come the recommended trains!
This thing is a beast. So cool.
Pensei que esta bosta aí ia atingir uns 200 km/h
Awww bebee 💕
Jet or shaft propulsion?
Creeperboy and friends ...Just thrust....approx 220lbs.
So... Jet powered go kart?!!
Brett are you the person at the menangle car show? I am the boy that had a friend with me and we came to watch the show, and i invited u to the other car show
Can you do this same shot whilst it's burning it down the track
Would've been more impressive if he'd used a heli turbine to power the rear wheels.
even has a parachute!
nice :-)
She's a rowdy little bugger Smithie..Saw it out at Windsor the other month..Crazy.
pretty cool man ! thumbs up ..
G'day Shawn.
Is it possible to put a electric starter on something that has a pull starter? I have a gx390 and my pull starter broke and if that's possible I might as well spend the money on a electric starter. Thanks
Haven't seen this one before, Brett. Nice SOUND! ;)
Hey, does anybody know what happened to this dragster? I've seen many videos of it around youtube, but it looks like it almost fell off the face of the earth. The las fid Smithy made of it was 5 years ago, you'd think he'd make follow up videos.
Yes the car is still around, I am the owner and the car does lots of car shows etc..
+Brett Smith Okay thanks. That's good to know.
all that money and it goes so slow
I wouldn't call it slow...it has been clocked at over 235kmh since that very first run. Not too bad for a home made RC car..
if you just watch the fuel tank you can actually see the fuel level dropping with each burn. wow.
wtf I was expecting way more lol
Please don't forget....It was a "test run" as it had not run before.
peli bukan
peli bukan
Ahah u can just watch the fuel slowly get low
same thinking !
yowwww brada you are awesome
Nice :) now I just need an A/B on my little boat ;)
Nice work mate , looks like it working well with the new after burner .
Thanks Dave....a lot of help from you was muchly appreciated. Needs a lot more fuel though, I might pull out every second wire from the spray ring and give that a go..!
Sweet Smithy..She's got a roar to her.
That's a good thing I guess..!
You're a bad bad man Smithy.....lol. very nice work sir. Any idea on thrust? With and without AB.
The numbers say dry thrust is ~150-160lbs....Wet, she's close to 210-220lbs....Although I haven't done a proper measurement as yet.
Nice run man....afterburner sounds like a thunder...
Thanks Patty. The A/B should indeed sound like thunder...!
Yes indeed....
lol... yey, it came out..!!
Hello sir. Nice job. I know some scale rc helicopters use some type of gearing for the turbine. Maybe that is a option for you. But they drive the blades on a helicopter not sure how they can handle the torque of tires. Maybe if you reduce travel of the steering servo it's easier to control or some expo. I think you have a really nice car. And for people that are saying that there brushless is faster absolutely miss the point of this project they don't understand that it's all hand made and it's a piece of art.
Another toy I see Smithy...Did you see the vid I shot of your Dragster from Windsor the other week.?
Awesome. But as soon as the afterburner kicks in, watch the fuel in the ca going away :(.
Magnificent!
0:50 hey, move that block outta the way.
how cool is that!
U should do some more research
Has it got a return spring built in ?
Would love to see the Final set up of this...very cool!!!
cool
1.5M+ views, good job for the views not ur toy
Will you have more videos of this thing soon? Really like this setup.
YAY lol
Holy cow, watch the fuel level in the bottle go down, lmao, nice!
coooool and expensive
Hi there, great job! 30% increase is very reasonable! Ive built a turbojet turbine and am on my way to my next project of making an afterburner for a jj-3000. I've found a company that can fabricate high temperature/impact ceramic castings, so this may be the route I go down instead of stainless. This may allow for longer run times. Is it possible you could point out a few dimensions or resources you used to design yours? Dont worry, im not a time waster - i really am an idiot!
damn that thing is just sucking down the fuel!
don't own one but my bellies reaction to McDonalds hamburgers are certainly faster. how about your rc car?
cool
