How to make a PVC gun holder for your truck bed storage system. Even if not using a drawer you can use this anywhere. I go to the woods often and usually take several weapons for multiple types of game and this makes it very easy to do. This is great for day hunts, multiple day hunts, truck bed camping. The foam really makes it sturdy and can hold four weapons with no problem. #truckbedcamping ...

How to measure Blackhorn 209 in weight and the difference of measuring in volume.
Переглядів 21 тис.2 роки тому
I show how to measure Blackhorn 209 (BH209) in weight vs. volume in tubes. My next video I post will be the difference in the field when I actually shoot with my .50 Caliber CVA Accura in-line muzzleloader. My conclusion is that these tubes are not accurate. I used to just pour the BH200 straight into the tubes and eyeball it at 100 grains by volume. After measuring by weight, it seems much mor...

If you go to timestamp 1:54 you will see on the underside a circle where the manufacturer placed for you to drill. It should be at the optimal spot.
@@williamgehring2291 did I do that in this video? It’s been so long I can’t remember. Haha!
Nice work! Is it easy to take out if needed?
@@Kick-N-with-karter yes! There are two little clips you just have to pull off with needle nose pliers, but they are easy to lose so be very careful!
My model, the brush roller is non-removable. So, I am SOL if mine gets clogged like yours😢
You have to weigh BH 209 because of how it's designed. All those hollow tubes lay in different angles and take up space. It doesn't seem like it, but it makes a difference when you get down to the micros
I've shot a lot of blackhorn and I totally agree, the tunes are not accurate.
FOR SOME MODELS - THE BRUSH WILL NOT OPERATE IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. Shark navigator 350-353 series - if you have cleaned the roller and it doesn't work, TILT THE HANDLE BACK then try.

Thanks, excellent video. The Harris No. 2 Adapter looks like a great product. I will be getting this to add another stud to my Axis II 308. 👍
Love my axis II .270! I put a Boyd stock and a timney trigger on mine and that has been an accurate gun! Harvested a mule deer with 483 yard shot. Couldn’t believe it. Accurate little sucker. Good luck installing!
Spray your tubes and plastic funnel with static guard and let dry for a day for static control speed loaders too
Ewe! I’ve never heard that. Thats a great tip! Thank you!
Your going to come home and your dog is going to have that on the floor as a chew toy
It is highly possible!

Great job gentlemen, all around! I can't wait to get my kiddos out this season!
Thank you!
Great video
Thank you! I have actually upgraded since I posted this video. I went on another mule deer hunt (also on my channel) with my son this year and her got to use the bog pod and I tried out the new Tricer USA tripod and head and it was awesome. I now have an arcs Swiss plate permanently mounted to my rifle and with that tricer head I can quickly switch optics and shoot off of it. Now that hunting season is over I plan on posting a video about that.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for putting this video out there!
Thanks for watching! It is still holding up strong!
Nice buck. You don't count the eye-guards, that's an eastern United States thing. Are these the mountains close to Mexico? I have never hunted in New Mexico.
Thank you! They are very similar to the mountains in Mexico so I’m told, but these mountains are on the Texas / New Mexico border.
@@lukesenter is it an over-the-counter tag or a draw/point system? Thanks.
@@worldobserver3515 Draw only. No point system.
@@lukesenter thanks. Do you live in New Mexico? It is one of the states I am thinking about retiring to. What do you think of New Mexico?
@@worldobserver3515 nope. Native Texan. It’s soooo hard to get a tag for big game in Texas. I think 95% of Texas is private land and the other 5% of public land can be incredibly hard to draw for mule deer, pronghorn, etc. so us Texans anger New Mexicans and Coloradans often! Haha! I don’t blame them either.
Orange is always good never trust other hunters
Fun trip
Thanks for posting great fit.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! Mine is still holding up great.
Congrats man! Nice buck! Were you up there for the second rifle hunt? Your truck looks familiar. Think we passed y’all a couple times on the north rim
Thank you! I think it was considered 1st rifle. Sadly I’ve forgotten. It was smack dab in middle of November. Love it out there. Yall have any luck?

It's a good song for sure
Congrats on a nice buck. Just so your aware, hunter orange is not enforced in the state of New Mexico, apart from hunting on military property or some national preserves. The hunter you spotted was not in the wrong in anyway.
Really!? Hahahaha! I hunted in CO and NM and got real busy and didn’t look it up prior to going to see if orange was required. The last four years in New Mexico I hunted during archery so never wore orange and just assumed it was required for rifle. Ha! Thanks for letting me know. I’m glad I did since I had my dad and son with me for their first ever western hunting experience.
@@lukesenter better to be safe than sorry! Even though it is not a requirement here in NM, I always at least wear an orange hat.... too many sound shooters in this state... Congrats on a nice buck!
@@BigJohn505 thank you, sir! I agree! Especially when my kiddo is with me!
If you use Pyrodex or Hodgen Loose powder and weigh it out, you get great accuracy also. Learned this from the folks at Knight Muzzleloader.
Yes sir. I have an older muzzle loader that can’t handle BH209 so I use pyrodex for that rifle.
We’ve only been using blackhorn 209 for 3 years but we love it we also weigh ours so much more accurate
Bought 2 Shark vacuums, neither lasted a year. The previous Hoover was 22 years old. No more Shark products EVER! Over priced junk.
Hey Luke have you ever had the weight jumping around on that scale. Basically it want settle down. What causes that ? Thks
I haven’t. I know it’s a cheaper scale but it hasn’t jumped around on me.
You may not notice it but on some of these really sensitive digital scales just air currents in the room and/or your breath on the scale in front of you will cause that. Try bending some cardboard in a U so it is about 6 or 8 inches from the scale, about 8 to 10 inches high (like a fence blocking air currents), shielding the back and sides and probably your scale jitters will disappear.
Blackhorn is the best. The BH volumetric tubes are not accurate. Here's some side info. A couple years ago, i was shooting BH loads over fresh snow and discovered a lot of unburned powder granules on the snow. Didn't affect anything that i could tell.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing!
I actually spoke to the BH209 rep as to why their maximum is 120 grains (by volume) when other black powder substitutes (pellets) have 150 grains as maximum, and they said that 120 grains (by volume) was the maximum that would completely burn. Depending on barrel length, even less would be completely burned. Which is what @jared discovered.
@@hoghunter8229 That's interesting. Thanks for checking on that. Great stuff.
120 bh is 60-75 fps faster than 150 777
@@gregopelt9603 And much, much cleaner.
Boom, boom boom… Another one saved from the dust (of the landfill).
Is there any seat belts that can be used?
I got some four point seat belts but never installed them. I was going to put roll bars over the top too but just never did it
Does blackhorn 209 and blackpowder translate 1:1 on measuring grain loads. My Remington 700 manual state a Max load of 120 grain FFg black powder. Would I still use 120 grain (84 grain in weight) of Blackhorn 209?
I’m not qualified to answer that but I don’t believe so. Depends on your barrel and what kind of powder it can take. I have an old traditions muzzle loader and you aren’t supposed to shoot any BH209 in it. My CVA optima allows me too. As far as 1:1 I’m not sure. There is a blackhorn 209 data sheet that you can use for measuring properly. It’s on Blackhorns website. Check your guns manual on what you can shoot out of there or call them. Better to check first so your gun doesn’t blow up from making it too hot!
Here’s the form link: blackhorn209.com/load-data/
Supposedly all the BP substitutes are suppose to measure out the same as black powder , BY VOLUME. By weight, every one is different from the others so you have to calculate for each individual powder seperatly. Each substitute should have a unique multiplier to calculate back and forth between weight and volume.
interesting. it could be worth "calibrating" each tube with a sharpie
Thank you so much. Thought would have to buy new Hoover x
You’re welcome!

Nice, I have the green light no matter what mode it's in but it is making an awful screaching noise from that same side you initially cleaned out on the internal gear head/roller drive.
I bought some of this Blackhorn 209 but it seems way to finiky. I have pretty good results from triple 7 pellets so i think i will stick to what i know. Good video thank you
i heard good things about those pellets are you using CVA wolf muzzle loader by chance?
Triple 7 doesn't come close too bh209 performance

@gregopelt9603 you are probably right but I'm comfortable with triple 7. I'm going to play around this summer with the 209 and try to form my own opinion.

Hahaha! Yes they will!! It can get stinky in there mighty quick!! Thank you!
Great video, well explained.
Thank you!
Now that is very similar to what I plan to set up to use as a hunting, and adventure trailer. I love the simplicity of it. It's the only one I've seen that I truly like. Excellent job, and thanks for sharing video.
Thank you! Good luck on your build! I had a blast building and using it.
I like it, much like mine, accept the v-nose. What are your impressions of the disco-beds. Do not want to much clutter, I haul my Sportsman
The disco beds actually work well. I tried to minimize always having to take down and put up, but I also used this trailer for multiple things. I have some land an hour away from my home and so I just had the disco beds strapped to the wall at all times partly assembled so when a camping or hunting trip came up it was quick assemble. I could even fit my Yamaha Rhino in there too. The disco beds are good to sleep on but not very good when you put it as a couch. It works but not comfortable. I’d rather just put a pillow against the wall on top bunch and use that as my way to sit.
Thank you so much for this video!
Glad it helped!
The upside is they are mostly white. Balance is key.
You’ll never find balance with a mind like that. In the end you’ll matter as much as this comment.
I don’t understand your comment. People of all colors do dumb things, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that we love all people of all colors. Comments like this (if I’m reading this properly) are not helping the human race.
Hahaha
This is actually one of the best most convenient builds I’ve seen on UA-cam. Great work!
Thank you very much!
I always weigh every shot using an RCBS M500 scale. It's slower, but I'm not in a hurry, and no batteries to fail.
I’ll have to check that one out.
Could not watch with jerky camera! Literally Nauseating !
Sorry to have inconvenienced you. I was in a hurry
yikes. those fast pans are nausea-inducing. couldn’t watch but a few minutes. sorry.
Yeah… I agree. Went a little too fast for sure. I posted this video to sell this and the pics on my ad that I had gave still shots of everything I explained.
