One of the best looking and feeling guns on the market if you get the UMAREX version that is. Just remember when buying it though, it is a cheap replica (£140-£160) so you should expect it to have a life span of a real steel Luger. It is what it is and for the price it’s worth it just as a display piece that you can appreciate for it beauty.

Hello again. Thanks for this video. I adore when someone has a video, with plain language explanations, without stupid psycadelic sort of "musics" / sounds, and all that. And if it is in my native language (portuguese) or English, that is heaven on Earth. Not to mention that you are calm voice while explanation. If you are not a teacher, you should well be. Greetings from Portugal.

I bought one of these for £80 in UK...I weighed it and was slightly lighter than the original so I glued a couple of lead strips in the handle as there is a bit of room in each side...The after market wooden grips you can get for the luger are not a good fit and you need to do some skilled surgery to get them even close to fitting...although the wooden grips for the KWC M1911WW2 replica fit with little work and are a great authentic addition...The leather holsters for the luger and M1911 made in India are exceptional high quality and come with authentic stamps...So I'd recommend the leather holsters for the P08 and the KWC WW2 M1911...but not the wooden luger grips

i think the wear is just on the finish as its probably quite a cheap finish, the metal is probably fine

The wear and tear is completely normal - after all, it is made from cheap zinc injection molding and not steel or aluminum. Zinc injection molding is a shit material and it is also so soft that such wear and tear can be seen very quickly. These lead relatively quickly to malfunctions of the gun. Zinc injection molding is just cheap crap and it's a shame that almost all air pistols or BB and also gas pistols are made with this crap. They used to be made of steel in the 1970s and 80s, after that they were just zinc injection molded shit.

Hey! I'm considering buying this replica. Anyone who has owned one for a while. Did it fall apart by itself in the short term, or did it end up being fairly durable in the long term? I don't want to waste my money on a gun if it's gonna dismantle itself after only a few months...

I bought the Umarex version brand new, seals broke after the first bulb, it started expelling all the co2, or fired 10 bbs then vented all its co2, it released the mag by itself twice sending it smashing into the concrete floor. And then only fired by cocking each shot, then l discovered the barrels loose !! What is it with Umarex and loose barrels 4 out of 5 colt peacemakers l have all had loose barrels Doh

Disclaimer: Read to the end for the real problems. My names Bryan, me and my friend Tyler got these as a gift to ourselves and tried them out. Brand new they were spectacular, I loved how it felt in my hand, Tyler hated it. From our experience the trigger pull was super light, barely had to apply much pressure and it would run. His immediately showed problems with expelling Co2, it was our first gas blowback guns and I loved mine so much I wanted to use it competitively, and I did very very well with it. After a few months, mine degenerated like his did, the trigger would sometimes entirely fail and wouldn't work for minutes, sometimes having to break the gun down and put it back together with seemingly no answer as to why it didn't work. Both of ours started having issues with expelling the Co2 and sometimes it wouldn't expell enough. From my experience, you cannot oil these guns, get them wet, dirty, nothing. If yours starts having problems, I've found that getting them very dry and warm alleviates most of the issues for a short period of time. I do recommend this gun if you like to collect.

I pretty much agree with most of what he says. The one thing I would mention is that you should NOT waste your time and money buying any of the sholder stocks available for the real steel P-08. The ones for the real steel will not fit the clones whether KWC, WE or Umarex. I haven't found after a lot searching any that have been made to directly fit the clones. Not like the wood stocks on the market for the C96/M712 which can be made to fit the clones and work quite well. It can be done for the Luger but requires careful machining to widen the guide slot on the pistol itself. And that my friends was major pain in my... buttock. (I bet you thought I was going to say "my ass". 😇)

The strange thing about these minor? issues that you have pointed out, not functioning, due to oily/greasy inner barrel, and dodgy co2 valve, mech, etc, is that the real Po8 parabellum Luger, needed to be kept scrupulously clean, other wise it wouldn't function properly, jamming etc. A very fussy pistol! Cleaned regularly it was a reliable, accurate, and much sought after pistol by allied troops! As for the loose/wonky barrel on your pistol, that's probably due to quality control, or lack of it! As for it using a lot of Co2, hmm, it's recycling action is not typical of the vast majority of auto pistols, which have a straight forward/backward type of action. As you know, the action is, in part, a back and lift type of motion, which probably takes a lttle more effort/usage in co2, , than a straight forward/backward cocking/recycling motion, on other traditional co2 powered air pistols, and therefore needs more gas, or its got a faulty co2 valve maybe?! The other thing is, is that it's a shame that they, KWC, couldn't replicate the excellent deep blueing effect finish found on the original wartime Po8 Lugers! Good video by the way.

The real version of this pistol would have been called the Black Widow. The German Luger was not made for target shooting but for self defense which is why the sights are so crude.

@@KyleTheDalek Yes and no...The wooden grips are a really bad fit on the luger...You have to grind out the CO2 cylinder profile but that's the easy bit on wooden grips for BB gun grips....The problem is the fit externally...The screw holes do not align at the bottom and the thin part of the grip that inserts into the body at the top has to be so thin it will break easily....I don't recommend the luger grips unless the luger is going to be a show/static or you have qualifications in engineering.........The wooden grips for the KWC M1911 are a great fit only needing the CO2 profiling on the inside
