How sad that black girls were discouraged from swimming (unless they wore a swim cap). They feared punishment for getting their hair wet. We were compelled to straighten our curly hair because we were taught to despise what evolution blessed us with.

The edge of a shoreline can disappear without any indication. It can be a very frightening experience causing panic. The most important act while learning to swim is to RELAX. When you relax, you won't panic, when you don't panic, you can float, if you can float, you won't drown.

Yes, it can definitely be difficult but if you plan to move to a Spanish speaking country you will have to get used to it. I guess that is another reason for folks to learn the spoken language of the country though huh? LOL And- Remember you can always enable cc for better translation. Hope you were able to get something out of the discussion.

Quite a few expats or potential expats have brought up politics, specifically Trump, as being a deciding factor for their move. I wonder however in the hundreds of years that black people have been in this country, when were we ever safe? When has living in America been a good thing for us? I must have missed that. 🤔

My husband and I have a 5 year goal to move to Nicoya, Costa Rica. We've never been there, but I came across it through some online research about Costa Rica. I have no idea how I will make this happen, but I'm going to try lol. The biggest obstacle is income. My husband has a great job here in Georgia, but it isn't something that can be done online. Neither of us have degrees. I'm very computer literate and love tech, but he is the opposite. So I'm trying not to get discouraged and trying to keep looking for ideas of an income if we made this move. I appreciate these videos and Kema maybe one day we will meet in Nicoya lol!
