    Very interesting! I enjoyed watching. Should be more between centres work in the world. 🤠 I’d much rather hear you describing what you are doing than free to use music. Measuring rotating parts while the cutter is spinning also seems like a bad thing to be teaching people. I bet you aren’t that short of time 🤠

    Ive mounted a square file in the tail stock and locked the head . Then by hand slid the tailstock on the bed to establish your square just under sized. Then remove from lathe and do the final fitting as you do.

    Excellent tailstock alignment. Does the pinion need to be remembered again??

    Beautiful work way beyond my skill, thanks. Mind you I would be careful reaching over and around a spinning lathe with baggy shirt sleeves, hope you don’t mind the observation it might help others.

    Did you automate your milling machine? I noticed it's advancing thru the work without you manually engaging the factory nut on the table. Love to see a video on how you did it. Great stuff. Hope to see more videos.

    what drill bits are u using and where can i get the continental pivoting device? the bits i been using always break

    • @fendley-coxantiqueclocks
      @fendley-coxantiqueclocks 2 роки тому

      I use Spade drill bits. You can get them at Timesavers. Look in the catalog on page 109. Use the carbon steel bits. The carbide bits will break. The Continental Pivoting Device you will have to make. They aren't manufacturing them anymore. Maybe you can find a used one at a clock show. Good luck. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    1:06 Are all those little gear cutters custom made, or is there somewhere you can buy them? Standard size cutters are much too large for my mini mill to handle.

    Thank you, just what I needed. You make it look easy but I know it isn’t; can I ask what type of solder you use, is it silver solder or standard soft (plumbers) solder? This is a great little channel and you deserve more subscribers, thank you for taking the time to film and post.
