Very awesome story . Thanks for sharing Abcc1012 ibcc 565
That was great, but I would not expect anything but the best from this young lady, thank you Linda Paul Hannum. I will always remember you as my daughters drum major with the Middlesex Gardesmen drum corps in 1980. You were great then and you just keep getting better.
Awesome job on this.
💔💓 💕 Unbelievable. Wrenching. Yous guys! Feel for you pulling this off. I attended his camp twice, back in the mid-80s, where he taught us this same dress-up cheer. WOW. I took a walk down memory lane in my blog because I just found out he passed away a few years ago. I want to share my memories with you. Thanks for posting this. maryacevedomedtesol.weebly.com/playlists/playlist-eyes-with-pride
3:38 Holy hell what an echo
Thank you for this. I was part of that band and watching this video brought back all the emotions of that time. What a beautiful video! <3 With pride always.
I remember in 1999 - 2000 when I asked George the first day of summer band camp if I could switch from clarinet to Mellophone. He said OF COURSE! There were like 18 of us that year, and my first ever brass attack, and we played the mask of Zorro.... ! Anyone know if there is a video of the 1999 - 2000 season anywhere?
Who here went to George Parks drum major academy Cx most amazing experience of my high school LIFE!
A legacy never to be forgotten. George N. Parks has marked his feet in history, and continues to impact lives of today. Thank you, George for changing my life in the best way possible. Forever, with pride.
I was at the game where George Parks died. As my band and the other high school band there listened to them play this, he had a heart attack in the parking lot. This is a fitting reminder of Parks and a tribute to his legacy
Happy New Year.
More like the Uass Minutemen
I was there it was so fun! Omg your should have saw the wave!
I was there that day. I Was making so much noise for umass some Michigan fans were a little irritated. We almost won that game.
I wish all band could follow in MMB's foot steps. What a great thing to do to honor a great man. GNP has been and will be missed.
the big ten schools always show tremendous respect for the marching bands. Must feel good to have 110,000 give a standing ovation. haven't seen the minutemen live in a long time but might have to figure out a way to see them this season.
They did a guest performance at one of the marching band comps I was at thiss past fall. the rest of my band did not understand why I began crying. NEVER forgotten <3
I cried. not even a minute into it.
you guys are coming to my school later this week (Decatur Central) i really hope i get to watch you all practice, our band director talks about you guys all the time, and we all absolutely love your music and everything
Eyes with pride for ever! Mr.Parks you'll never be forgotten <3

Dude, I want to be in this show so bad.
I thought it was great that they pulled this off. I wouldn't have been able to pull this off if my friend and mentor died 3 days before the biggest performance of the season. I was honored to watch and hear this group perform this day, a post game worth staying for and remembering. Sincerely, a UM student. :)
RIP Mr Parks.. Thanks for everything you taught me!! You will be missed!!!
I got into UMASS and as a music major and I'll definitely be joining the band in the upcoming fall :D

I spoke to Linda at Homecoming and told her that I saw this video and how much it meant to me as as an alum, and she was flattered and thanked me, and I thanked her for the wonderful speech. What dignity, strength and class she showed/has! If a video is ever made honoring Parks, this has got to be included.
says a lot about michigan fans for them to give a standing O like that! and im not even close to a fan of them myself, haha.
2:37 is my absolute favorite part...both the sound and the performance at that point in time literally defines what George N. Parks was all about... :')

@TheRivideoguy Great classy people in Ann Arbor !!!
George Parks has influenced the lives of so many an will never be forgotten. Thank you George for being a mentor and a teacher, sharing your life with the people who admired you most.
That is the best marching band ever. (Not to mention one of the loudest I've heard!) He must have been one mindblowing band director judging by this performance.
Dear Linda. Although we have never met...I too am an alumni of the UMMB. The 2008 season was my last in the band and George Parks was truly the most inspirational person I have every met. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful tribute to him. I do hope that you will participate in the alumni band on October 16th. There are now over 400 alumni participating. That should be an incredible tribute to an incredible man. Thank you so much! Sara Perrone-Rinaldi Clarinet Line 2004-2008
That was awesome and it brought back so many happy memories of a wonderful 4 years in the band with Geroge Parks at the helm and my dear friends that I made during that time. I will always have them and be with them in their grief. I will never forget GNP. So honored to have had the opportunity to know such an amazing and caring person. My heart goes out to all the current member of the band as they cope with this tragic loss. Thanks you for this beautiful vide.
Dear Linda, Thank you so much. You helped me to finally let out the tears that have been building ever since I got the shocking news of this amazingly wonderful, inspirational person in my life. I know that God and the Holy Spirit are comforting each and every one of us who knew this amazing man. I am so honored I had the chance to know him. I will never forget him. Do you know when the funeral is? I will do everything in my power to be there. Thank you again, Brian Bell clr line 93-97
Thank you, Linda. That was beautiful. Geary Allen
I love hearing My Way, it brings me to tears every time we play. I wish there was more time to spend with Mr. Parks, I was just getting to know him. Eyes with pride!
I met George Parks while I played the alto saxophone in the Cathedral High School band, under the direction of his wife, Jeanne Parks. Thank you for posting this video. I want to thank the UMASS Minuteman Marching Band for everything that they have done in honor of their talented and knowlegable director.
