92 Dodge 12v Cummins Rescue - Engine Swap Donor or New Tow Rig Project?
Picking up this 140k mile 12 valve 92 Dodge truck soon. It appears to be an old Southern Bell truck with an inter-cooled 5.9 Cummins turbo and a 5 speed trans.

69 F100 390/5 Speed Driving The Side Roads Great Sounds!

Going through the gears and hitting the side roads for the first drive of the year. In case you haven't seen any of my other videos, this is a 69 Ford F100 with a mildly upgraded 390, 5 Speed, and a 3:70 rear gear. Truck runs very well and sounds even better. Well, at least to me it has a great sound, Comp 270 cam, Edelbrock RPM, 750 Holley, with the Sanderson headers, Flowmaster mufflers and s...
Very Cool 53 Ford F100 Flathead V8

Took a peek at this truck in north Georgia, very nice patina, still had some of the commercial lettering outlines. Being a 53, it was the last year of the flathead and this one started promptly with just a touch of the starter. . .
F100 Nationals 2023 Parts Meet Glimpse

These pics are from day 1 of the 2023 F100 Nationals in Pigeon Forge, Tn. Great show, I believe it was the biggest show yet with the trucks overflowing! It was an awesome show. My favorite part is the swap meet which was pretty good as well. I was able to snag a few deals and there were plenty of parts. From bumpers to Coyote engine/trans combos, the selection was decent.
69 Ford F100 Dash Cleanup and Refinish
Переглядів 3542 роки тому
This is a condensed clean up summary for the dash I used in my F100. The replacement dash is a $25 junkyard special out of a F600. In surprisingly decent but not perfect shape, I set out to clean this old pad up and install it in my truck. The most tedious part was cleaning the dirt out of the speaker holes. If you do the math, there around 1400 holes for the speaker. Using a 1/16" drill bit, I...
Considering a car trailer? We bought one and it opened up a world of automotive adventures
Переглядів 2162 роки тому
Thinking about a car trailer? My buddy and I got tired of the fees and the inconvenient U-Haul rentals so we split the cost of this trailer. What started out as a F100 hauler has turned into much more of an enabling device for projects needed and unneeded. . .
Ford F100 390 FE 5 Speed Swap
Переглядів 19 тис.2 роки тому
My 69 F100 came from the factory with a column shifted three speed manual. I really wanted a four or five speed in this truck. In fact, I had purchased a close ratio Toploader 4speed but was discouraged by the tunnel hacking that I would need perform to clear the shift linkage on the Toploader. About this time, a nice T5 out of Mustang came into my possession rather inexpensively. This would re...

I live in Georgia and I’m trying to find someone to build my 390
@@winoism What part of Georgia?
@@f100inc3 Newnan but can travel. Where are you or ho do you know? Thanks
@@winoism I'm in North Cobb area, you can try Mo's speed shop in Dallas, D&A Machine Shop in Canton, it is so hard to get the machining done right now. Best of luck to you....
Sounds and looks great
I love them, a dime a dozen and kind a ton of ass! That sounds just like my 65 Galaxie 390 I built and it still sits out and begs me to come out and play…
I've driven fords all my adult life. My dad had a 73 f100 with a 360 engine. When the engine died. He replaced it with a 390 out of a Ltd. Let me tell you. That freaking truck would fly. Not so much on take off. But 100 mph was no problem. It would go on pass 100 and still be pulling hard. I now have a 2012 f150 5.0 coyote. A 94 f150 5.0 and a 95 mustang gt 5.0. Love my fords. It's just what I like. Nothing wrong with other auto types. Dodge chevy or what ever you want.
The difference between a 390 and a 360 is huge. 360 will run forever, slowly, the 390 is better off the bat and responds well to mods. I like the Coyotes though I haven't owned one, I also have a 94 Cobra and F250. Thanks for chiming in, I am also a Ford guy.
How has the t-5 held up for you? I have the transmission to do the swap its a world class t-5 but im reading some people say d9nt put them behind a 390 because of the torque
I would say it has worked out of me because I don't thrash my truck, I am not doing burnouts etc. I think the torque info you got is correct, but if you are just driving it like me, it is fine. I get on it pretty well but i just don't thrash it. Thanks.
@f100inc3 thanks I really like your build. I don't beat on stuff either, but I will let the secondaries breathe on occasion. Maybe a burnout or two a year. I think I'm going to go for the swap. Worst case scenario I look for a t5z while I drive it.
@@AllisterBurris I had the T5 already so I thought if I blow it, I will upgrade to a Tremec. Sadly, I rarely get the chance to get it out so I am guessing the T5 will be around a while. . .
Also what's your wheel and tire combo?
@@AllisterBurris 15x8 all around, 275/60/15 rear, 235/75/15 front.

Damn ❤
How much
And yes, I agree the truck is fantastic.
These things are $44 (evidently) so no big deal. However, this video claims improved power at mid/hard throttle. But these are for the squirters / accelerator pump. Granted I have yet to play with and learn about Holley carbs. I'm running an Edelbrock. The only time the squirters squirt (at least on an Edelbrock) is when the throttle pedal is being pushed. Holding full throttle and running through the rpm and shifting (with an automatic) while your foot is on the floor, these should have zero effect. These should do nothing but mainly effect off-idle accelerating, during the time your foot is pushing the pedal mechanically causing the squirters to squirt. That's it. The squirters are not squirting when your foot is held to the floor, so how could these help at any throttle "setting?" Granted, the Edelbrock is not great when pushing slowly down on the throttle from off idle maybe these would help that off-idle performance. But that's all. I run an AFR gauge on my setup full time. I have tuned my AVS2 as good as it can get. I know what I'm talking about. However, if these help reduce the Edelbrock off-idle stumble, they're certainly worth $44.
I would love to swap my 72 with a manual but my wife likes to drive the truck. It’s such a smooth cruiser burnout machine
I understand, keep her happy...
Is your truck lowered? If so, what set up you running?
Bumpy cam but still has a good idle..what cam and grind?
Comp 270H, Hyd non-roller...
Is It a 255 85 R15 tire? I 💯, like the look of that 🦾

Outstanding my man.
Thank you. . . .
Sounds great! Reminds me of my black '70 Shortbox I had. Nice truck!
Thanks, I do like this sound very much as well…
Beautiful truck and I love that you kept the FE. They are great and well designed engines. I have heard people talk so much smack about them. Here is my mike dropping moment, They were built when people wanted power and didn’t care about mileage or smog. They were built in the 1960s by the millions to do what that era was about: tire smoke and fun! Drop!
What a beauty
I want one. Beautiful.
Whats the 5 speed out of. Any adapter problems
It is a World Class from a Mustang. The Wilcap adaptor works well, no issues and uses stock clutch, bellhousing, and linkage.
My oil pump shaft twisted off during cam break in. I’ll be getting a new top and bottom end. I was shooting temps when it happened. Thought I got it shut off in time but it locked up tight as a drum. 🤮 😢
Wow, that is horrible, did you use an upgraded oil pump shaft? I think I used an ARP shaft. Good luck on the rebuild!
@@f100inc3 yes it had the milodon in it. I honestly think I didn’t have the distributor all the way down when I bumped it in. Pistons, valve train are all fine but it’s gonna need hopefully just crank polish and bearings and oil pump of course. The cam didn’t even have time to scratch the lifters. I think the Isky break in lube saved it. It only ran for 3-4 minutes. Live and learn I guess.
What camshaft are you running? Sounds really good, not over the top …
Thanks, it is a Comp 270H. . .
They will wear you out in heavy city traffic.
I’m average, 6ft2 175 and I never noticed it. I drove dump trucks for my day job so maybe that’s why. I, before I lost my vision, found it relaxing to take my FE/ NP435 out on backroads and just drive. I miss it so much. I know that my time is almost up. That reminds me all the time. Arthritis has taken my ability to play the guitar anymore like I used to. I love that truck! Thank you Sir for keeping tradition alive!
Does not have deep 1st gear?
What paint did you use for the frame and engine bay?
What used was the Summit gloss black, not sure I would use it again, seem very thick and tough to coat properly but good for under hood. I been using Nasson base/clear since this was done.
292 duration 512 lift . Dual plane aluminum. 750 cfm .323 gears. Flat piston . 10 over 390 . 352 crank , rods , 60 over piston , heavy duty rods , intercepter heads with 427 valves . Pulls like crazy . Quick rpm , endless top end
Hell yeah man, I can’t wait to get a T5 in my 72 Ranger XLT… That 3 speed with a super shity floor shifter ain’t cuttin it…😅 I had a world class T5 in my 89 Mustang coupe. I think it was out of a later model car like a 93 or something… But it shifted great, especially when I put that steeda tri ax shifter in it… I might get a better transmission later on down the road depending on how rowdy I wanna get with it…😂 But I know my coupe was making around 350hp and I drove the shit out of it… I think slicks and a sudden impact is what does the T5’s in normally. A buddy of mine raced pro stock class and his T5 would hold up to like 700hp I believe… He had all kind of stuff done to it man. The gears were cryogenically frozen shit… He ran 7.00 class in a 302 Mustang with a T5 and it would actually break out if he didn’t lift at the end of the track. He would bang 2nd gear with the front tires about a foot and a half off the ground…🤣😭
Awesome... Good luck!!
@@f100inc3 Thanks man, I subscribed… Those are pro motion T5’s I was telling you about on my buddy’s car… Maybe it’s 600hp max but they are awesome

When can I come pick it up, that's one of my dream trucks. I had a 69 250 2 wheel drive, cops took it, it was all original paint on it it was mint, I felt like I was in a parade every time I drove it. People would wave, and give thumbs up were ever I went, I'm from MN. So not to many of them around, had a 72 also , it blew up so I had it at my bosses company and didn't get back to it for a while and he junked it, it was rust free also, so now I'm with out a bump side.
I know the feeling, people love to see these trucks and everyone has a story to tell. I can imagine they are hard to find up there! Sorry for your losses. . .
Oh boy
It’s beautiful, hubcaps and all
Thank you
Absolutely love the truck! I have a 390/3-speed. The three on the tree is kinda cool for nostalgia purposes but gets old when you drive it a lot. I’ve been considering either a Automatic OD or a 5-spd/6-spd. I think your video might just have pushed me to keep it manual! On a side note, what is done to the truck suspension wise? Love the stance!
I love the 5speed, it is a different animal compared to the three speed. Front, drop beams plus 1.5 cut from stock coils, rear is drop shackles and the bottom leave removed... thanks for the comments...
