I've played in a number of metal bands as a rhythm guitarist and singer. On stage when you are going at 200% it's such an amazing experience, and it's a ton of muscle memory to play smoothly while running around or head banging. I also caught a few black eyes from head banging a little too close to my microphone while on stage lol. Dime is in my top 5 favorite guitar players of all time. His combination of technical prowess with Texas soul is just unmatched. He truly had whatever "it" is 🤘🏻

🤔 Grington and Ganimal have covered the arguments for. I’ll add a few of my own thoughts. I found BM a couple of years back here on UA-cam. I’m 72 and have listened to rock/metal since the late 60s. Grew up with The Who, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin… Fell out of love with the genre when hair metal/glam metal came along (Van Halen was fun, but most were annoying). Thrash/speed metal and death/black metal 🤔 I liked the music, hated the ‘singers’ (if you could call it that). Tool didn’t fall into that hole, and I’ve ’followed’ them since the 90s; but they’re pushing 70+ and not likely to produce another album. The UA-cam algorithm pushed Babymetal at me after I’d searched out reactions to the Vic Firth drumcam of Danny Carey playing Pneuma live. Luckily (?) for me it was this video along with IDZ at Download 2016 which turned me on to them. Fell down the foxhole: bought their first 4 albums and concert videos for Budokan Apocalypse (2014), Wembley (2016) and Tokyo Dome (2016) shows. The (?) above is because that is the Babymetal I know and love. The current iteration without Yui and with masked rotating ‘Kami’ band members just doesn’t cut it for me. Oh, music video recommendations: Try Black Babymetal (Yui and Moa version) from those years. ‘Sis.Anger’, ‘GJ’, ‘Song 4’ and ‘Onedari Daisakusen’. Cuteness overload on top of awesome musicianship.

Check out "Psychosocial", "Nero Forte", "Devin In I" .... just to name a few. Corey (lead singer), has shown his face a few times, including on other projects. Other members, not so much, they tend to remain mysterious. Clown, is one of the architects of Slipknot's visuals. she is the real deal, seasoned and talented... and their music sounds incredible. I am a huge Chester fan but this loses nothing and adds a new sound! She deserves to rock with this band!

They unmasked for the first time after the death of original bass player Paul Gray in 2010 - until then they were completely anonymous since breaking through in 1999 The masks allowed them to live normal lives but be personas on stage The masks generally change each album cycle and each member is in control of the image This is a fairly new song (2019), as others have said go back to the Self Titled and IOWA albums for a treat - both full of epic hardcore thrash/nu/heavy metal, a scattering of punk, a bit of rap. And a lot of anger.

Great vid bro! Slipknot is such a unique band, so much talent in this band (principally now that they picked the best metal drummer of all time (until now). Let me give you a tip.. one of the most important aspects of music is momentum. So every time you pause the song to make a comment or something, always go back +- 10 seconds before unpausing. This way everytime your pause ends up breaking any important momentum/build up in the song (wich is normal and expected to be happening frequently) you'll allow that specific momentum/tension to be built again so the process of 'tension building and the subsequent release of it gets completed. Ps: Slipknot have slow and melodic BEAUTIFUL songs with no screams and great clean singing from Corey Taylor. I really suggest you to listen to these 2 songs: *Slipknot - Vermillion part 2 (not the Vermillion part 1, this is heavy stuff); *Slipknot - Snuff You'll discover a whole different Slipknot, but just as awesome as the Slipknot you discovered in this video.
