Speakers, iso platform, stands, super tweets, subwoofer ... why not just buy a pair of floor standers that does it all, and have done with it!

I am actually listening to this video ON my own pair of AE Reference 1's!! And yes, they are great speakers. Far more neutral and uncoloured than my old AE1 MK2's they replaced.

Hi, does the 10Mhz ext clock need to be daisy-chained from the U18 to the R26 when using I2S connection?

Thoughts on the reliability of the software and bugs with it with Volumio? I’m getting big problems with it.

I am so happy that I found your UA-cam channel!! I own the Gustard U18 and am very happy with it, but did not know about the 4 modes. I use the optical TOS output of the U18 into a Soekris DAC 1421 (an R2R DAC). The 4 modes selections do change the sound significantly, even when using the TOS output. After listening for a month or so, I find that the best U18 mode selection varies based on the recording. The mode selection can affect the music in ways that I find impossible to put into words - you just have to hear it and adjust it as necessary. And when you find the best mode for your recording, you will be provided with a sound that is soooo satisfying.

Hi, Happy holidays! Great video and sound demo. Can you explain whether you used a streamer (and which one), and the connections you made between the components? Did you connect the i2s of the R26 to the i2s of the U18 or did you go through a streamer? Did you connect the R26 clock to the U18 clock? How would you make connections if you were using an external clock like the Gustard C16 or C18? Im trying to better understand how all of the components fit together. Thanks very much.

Try the gold version, very good. I’m using it too. Also the LAN version, it’s awesome ! I agree with you the sound improves few folds 💪🏻💪🏻

my tv only has optical out...not coaxial

should i leave the gustard always on or turn off when not in use?

Thanks for the tips but i didn’t go that far with my r26d. I bought mine direct 9 months ago and the standard internal fuse sounds horrible ! I got the gustard int. fuse in a pack of three which proved to be a very clear, dynamic and resolute . However ,the sound was too hard and in your face for my liking. So i obtained my old favourite AMR Gold T 2.5a and normality returned. The sound is far natural without the excitement that some like but i find nauseating. I use it with Novafidelity x40 cd/server with van den hul aes xlr digital cable into r26 and Telq xlr into a NAD c658 to NAD C298 power into buchardt A400/11. The sound is quite entertaining.

I'm skeptical and it remains to be heard if adding an external clock will help or hype (I will test) ...I do know this, U18 added to R26 DAC / is not needed because it didn't achieve best sound...I found out using Chrome Cast on my Android Beelink GT-King achieves higher bit rate 48k excellent sound quality... I sent my new ifi zen stream and gustard U18 back...I will invest that money towards a second Rel T7X...Don't do like me and get caught up in the hype...streaming Chrome Cast to R26 is very sweet, detailed, punchy, and a warmth I love when paired with Gustard R26...also I get to see my music streaming on my TV...the phone is only a remote and it streams Tidal straight from Tidal without a 3rd party app😁that is why the higher bit rate and higher sound quality...USE Chrome Cast w/R26 and thank me later; better sound and less money...all these streaming companies devices try to just take your money...I'm keeping it REAL!

How much better is this Rivo over your previous ifi streamer?...also I'm also thinking of an external clock...do you think the Gustard C18 would be good...since I also have r26 & U18, like you

What percentage of sound quality would an external clock make over the R26 & U18 sound...because that is already decent?...Do you think a the Gustard C18 would be a good choice since the other gear is also Gustard?

How can a fuse or mains power cord improve the sound quality? Then first you need to take into account the quality of the power supply of the entire network, starting from the voltage source, cable lines, transformers, wires in the house.

Just use ethernet with gustard r26 as roon end point and thanks me later trust me you don't even need external streamer or ddc it's rock solid 😉
