Der Patient hatte großes Glück. Bei vielen anderen dauert die Genesung sehr viel länger. Ich musste nach meiner Entlassung leider nochmal stationär eingewiesen werden wegen starker Beschwerden.

It's so hard to choose which one. I hope there will be a valve doesn't need to take blood thinner for life long in the near future. Of course, would be great too is the bio valve will last 20 years or even longer. We all rely on these great doctors!

How Common are two valves to be replaced

I had the Bentall procedure last year and I opted for a mechanical valve , I have had no problems with taking warfarin and I don’t get a ticking sound but more of a mild thud , it does take time getting used to , I chose the valve because of potential longevity.

I’m curious about the 15 year lifespan for the bio valve. I’m 41 and likely less active than the patient here, but was told that I’d be VERY lucky if a bio valve lasted that long for me. Is there different research that suggests a longer lifespan of this valve?

What are the problems with living with mechanical valve

Good show doctor..I have done TAVR proceedure 4/09/2023..in Jaipur,India…I am good now doing 6-7 kms brisk walking..developed good appetite and no breathlessness n no fatigue..minimum medications…only BP GOES UPTO 180/85…I do get worried about this at times!!!!😢

I am 25 years old and literally have the exact same diagnosis as him. Born with 2 leaflets, 55% ejaction fraction now. I had no symptons at all. Just got done testing with MRI and 3D TEE. Valve needs to be replaced soon, LV is already a little bigger. Kind of scared but also looking forward to the surgery.. I'll get it done at Schüchtermann Klinik in Bad Rothenfelde, Germany. Good Luck to anyone out there facing the same difficulties. Regular Check ups are important. Shoutout to all the great docs out there.

In the states : your PCP refers you to a cardiologist. In my case an ECG/EKG was done during annual physical. Abnormal S T segment was what sent me to cardiology, calcium score 0, trans thoracic eco reveals 3 leaky valves moderate regurgitation, nuclear stress didn’t reveal any blockages. Billing code was Aortic insufficiency. So now because my vessels are relatively clear my lipids are high because of thyroid issue, it was suggested to repeat eco in two years. My question for a 56 yr female, when should I get my valves replaced? Before I become incapacitated? and what are non invasive alternatives such as sending a valve up through the groin to spare getting my chest cracked open? Thank you.

Ablation ist keine Wunderwaffe. Bin selbst ablatiert und habe nach 6 Monaten die gleichen Probleme wieder..

Very good explanation. I had exactly the same situation and surgery. Also choosed the biological valve for the same reasons. This about 12 years ago (at 42 in my case). And last November had check up and it's still working fine but there's is little bit of deterioration. But according cardiologist it will do for a few more years.

Ich habe das vorhofflimmern in den Griff bekommen, man hat mir durch die Kathederuntersuchung, dem vorhofohr einen stent gemacht, und ich habe bemerkt dass das Problem gelöst wurde, Vielen Dank der Klinik Maria Heimsuchung Eines muß ich sagen, ich hatte mit dem Vorhofflimmern schon seit Jahren zu tun,weil erst mit den Jahren es mit den Jahren angefangen, nur hat man das nicht für bare Münze wahr genommen, die Betablocker, nach und nach abzusetzen, dafür, Telcor Arginin plus-B12, B6,Foulsaeure,das war der Knackpunkt, ruhiges schlafen, keine halitionen, usw. Bin erst 87jahre, und erst den 2. Stent!!!! Außerdem muss ich sagen, eine Gefäß Untersuchung mit Kontrastmittel würde ans Licht bringen

Had a Ross Procedure done September 1. Due to complications, the surgery took longer than anticipated and was in ICU for 4 of the 5 weeks that I was in the hospital for. Was released from the hospital October 8, 2022 without rehabilitation. First 4 days I used a walker to get around. By the 2nd week I was using a cane. Then the 3rd week I was walking without the cane, but carried it with me for peace of mind and in case I overexerted myself with the walking. After that, I left the cane at home. Then on November 8, 2022, while the weather was sunny but cool, I decided to ride my bicycle for a distance of roughly 1 1/4 kilometers or about 3/4 mile. So, in the past 5 weeks sine I left the hospital, I think I did pretty well in regards to getting back to a normal life.

I have had to valve replacements so far both tissue valves i myself didnt want to take warfrin and wouldnt cope with the tickin of a mechanical valve had my first one at 65 lasted nearly 6years just had the other one a bovine replacement the first was a pigs valve hope this one lasts longer . Amazein what these miricle workers the consultants doctors nurses all involved in my treatment god bless them all

2. year Follow-up…. Dear Doctor Salzberg I hope all is well with you and your family. Plus you are able to keep up your excellent work in these trying times. I know you like to monitor the progress of your patients and their ongoing success. Well I am pleased to report that this week marked 2 years since my operation and all is well. I have attached an ECG (see below) I did earlier today showing heart rhythm is still normal and beating in mid 60s per minute. So thank you again for your brilliant work from one very satisfied patient. If you venture again to the UK please let us know. Likewise my wife and I plan to visit Zurich and again but this time as tourists! If either happens we would like to treat you and your wife to dinner. Best wishes and Kind Regards

Freitagabend vor 5 Jahren stand ich im OP. Es ging um Leben oder Tod. Es freut mich Ihnen dieses Interview auf Schyzerdütsch zu zeigen. Etwas Stolz macht es mich schon. Einer meiner Mentoren sagte mir mal: "…du musst das Gleichgewicht lernen zwischen Demut und Stolz...".....Viel Spass.

Hallo Herr Prof. Salzberg, diese Methode interessiert mich sehr. Meine Frage ist nun: Wie ist das mit den Schmerzen nach der OP? Gerade bei uns Frauen, die wir BH tragen? Da haben ja die Männer eher nicht so das Problem ;) Und zum Zweiten habe ich noch eine Frage zum Herzohr: Wenn ich das in dem Video richtig verstanden habe, wurde bei dem Eingriff das linke Herzohr verschlossen. Macht es einen großen Unterschied, ob es verschlossen oder abgetrennt wird? Ich würde mich sehr über Ihre Antwort freuen :) Liebe Grüße in die Schweiz :)
