Part 2 of the Landmark music documentary produced in 1995 that tells the story of popular music from 1959 to the mid sixties, featuring Phil Spector, The Righteous Brothers, the Ronnettes, Ben E King, The Drifters, Leiber and Stoller - from my original broadcast recording so it's a little fuzzy in places, This series needs to be released on DVD

The Four Seasons perform a medley of their hits on an American Tv series in the mid sixties including Sherry, Walk like a man, Big girls Don't cry, Dawn Rag doll.
Pasta munchers 😂😂😂😂😂
What was the song after walk like a man?
❤💗❤
What interview was that at the start and where can it be watched ?
Yup still do..
Never realized how similar to Beach Boys they sounded, around the same time they were both getting popular.
what a band! what a sound!
Magnificent 😊😊😊😊
By the time I get to Phoenix, similar in style and pace.Levi made these two songs his own.
I sure liked that Rag Doll...
I watched Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the Roostertail supper club in Detroit Michigan many many years ago! It was awesome
Now that was a classic group up there with all those golden greats. I was born in 1965 late about to turn 60 next year in January. I used to hear some of these songs in my very young age but I was too young to know who sang these great songs but years later they come to mind again. Now at 59 when I hear this song Sherry Baby and Walk Like A Man I almost come alive from my depression state. Love the beat and that harmony it's wonderful. Love Frankie Valli and the whole group. Excellent songs. Love 50s and 60s songs big fan. From Australia.👉😃😃🇭🇲🦘👍✌️
I met Frankie Valli in the 1950s. He was at a university ball, and I spoke to him when he needed a backup singer for a newly created band. Little did I know he would turn out to be a huge success. Gossip had it that he would always start a conversation with strangers about backup singers as he was immensely paranoid that he would need to replace one. What an interestingly gifted man.
What are those fantastic looking guitars Tommy and Niki are playing?
Wow. Pretty incredible how they work in those modulations to connect each tune 👍
Yes I am
Met the Tops at the Albert Hall ,1971,I think.Lawrence was at the bar I asked where his mates were follow me he said.Great memories.
Four Tops greatest hits album cover was photographed during this session.
And now Abdul Duke Fakir has reunited with Lawrence Payton,Levi Stubbs and Renaldo Obie Benson in Heaven!
We had a martin paints in mall in 60s. Doing a commercial guess who walks in and does a tv cameo, needed a girl to stand there they picked my 18. Yr old sis to do it. She went nuts he hugged her peck on cheek
One of my top 3 songs of all time.
obviously missed notes didn't matter in those days 😂
ABSOLUTELY Amazing Hits!!! Love Their Unique Harmonies!!! Love And Great Respect!!!🙏🎶♥️🥰🌟💜🇬🇧
My favorite band of all time. Good memories.
Very great singer. They always talk about. James Brown, but this guy was the real deal.
Telling dirty lie-eyes
Ragdoll holds a special place in my heart. I cry every time I hear it, not just because of the poignant lyrics, but because it’s the most hauntingly beautiful song I ever heard.
they don't make music like this anymore
Wie kann Mann so singen und dabei lachen ❤ Tony … ich bin verliebt ❤
Feels like I'm being serenaded by Spongebob
Probably my favourite song from the Four Tops.
Many blessings to the amazing group The Four Tops who gave so much musical joy to the world. The men as a group never broke up and now each one has departed from this earth. Living lastingly through their music. 💗💗💗💗
fabulous great footage thanks for a ace upload 💯👍🎵🎶
Dude looks like Joe Pescis older brother
We always loved you and always will. We saw you at the Cape Cod, MA Melody Tent several years ago and will always remember a terrific performance.. Thanks so much, Karin and Marcel
It's 2024 anyone still listening.?
Yes, I am.
Me! Can’t get enough of the four seasons!
Yes absolutely. I’m 24 and I love this music. Just discovered the earlier four seasons music and I can’t get enough.
Wish I had seen them live
Who’s playing drums 😅😂
Sound like they ripped off black artists with this sound😂
Isn't that Rusty Millio, the Mayor of Munchkinland?
..and Tony uses the same florist as Frankie Valli
Live? I really don’t think so, for instance where are The Funk Brothers on backing duties? I assume when they said live they meant that the Tops were present? But live as in singing? They are clearly miming. The year states 1965 which is also odd as it wasn’t recorded until 1966
In 2024 I am now aware of where Brian Wilson copied his Bwach Boys harmonies.
Nevermind not muted my yotube was messed up 😂
Its been muted 😢
One of the greatest rock groups. Nick Massi's bass playing, vocal arrangements and bass vocals played a significant role in the band's sound.
What an awful “bum-tish” seaside bandstand backing😳Great song and they look great😊
!! Inolvidables !! ❤❤❤❤ 🎶🌹😥
This does not sound live, it sounds studio recorded. I assume this video was dubbed?
❤😮 you eyeRIPhaek❤
Levi super cool the great Motown vocalist never to be forgotten
The intro of Rag Doll is the peak of The Four Seasons. And the outro is next on the list.
