Theres some guys on the forums ive seen that take 1×12 and make their own full ramps that raise up 6 to 8 inches. Works pretty well for these driveway-scrapers 😂

I’ve certainly got a lemon of a c5 but I’ve gotten 40k miles of dailying the hell out of it now @ 130k and I just now bought a McLeod clutch + flywheel and a torque tube rebuild kit from rpm. Still need to fix my car freaking out and throwing a bunch of codes and p1626 whenever I do a pull in cold or wet weather

I have 2 jacks, one is the low profile and the second one is a 4 ton. Both daytona. I use the 4 ton to lift the rear from the subframe and get it high enough to put the low profile under the front subframe to lift it. Works great. Also, if you arent taking tires off, make some wheel cribs, to me they are better than jackstands and you can build them as high as you want them. I have a video on my channel showing how to do it and how to use them. I believe Harbor Freight has a few jacks on sale for both ITC and non ITC members. Great video!

I've been meaning to pick up that jack but if I have to drive it up on blocks anyway I guess I can just use my old one.

What you got are headers from Aliexpress. Flashark and companies like them are just resellers. I've seen them as low as $250 with the X-pipe and cats. It's not necessarily a bad thing. You have to deal with weird QC issues because the people who made them never laid their hands on a C5. I'm interested to see how they hold up.

Two more items: 1. the clear plastic tops tend to spider crack. 2. the led display on the temp control is notorious for cold solders causing them to dim down to the point of not being visible during the day.

I was thinking about getting these for my 04 z06 ,but after seeing how much shit you have to do to make them fit/work,pretty sure purchasing headers from a different company is the way to go

Run your air condition and heater all year around to keep the seals lubcated. Run defoster your air vents to your floor vents manualy. The 3 activaters can dry out and crack. Very expensive to fix. The AC low and high sides inllets needles can leak when you unscrew the caps. You can hear R32 escaping. A tool to tighen the needle they at times get loose. Refill R32 for AC to work both sides of maxium cold. Low R32 can cause one side warm and cold.

You totally skipped showing where you removed the actual pump. At 1:53 it just jumps to you showing the electrical plug with the pump already removed. You also skipped showing actually installing the pump. Seems like a pretty important step for a video about replacing the pump.

Yes the C5 will hold value and may even climb a tad. It will depend on mileage because it counts with any Vette as far as holding value. I have a C6 and same holds true except the C6 will always be worth more than the C5 due to the C6 having the LS3 engine. Base has more HP than the C5 and with active exhaust it has 438 HP.

Classic owner market is changing. Lets be honest the older guys typically enjoy the "true" classics and those guys are in their 70s and 80s. I see classic car market dropping like a rock. Now on to C5 if you bought used yes it probably will go up after a long wait. If you bought sticker your out of luck. Problem is you have C6s available for just a couple grand more. C5 is popular because they are crazy cheap. Honestly think C6 would be best buy.

no spare tire. this limits its use as a good reliable 2 seat gt driver.

I plan on doing the same mod to my C5 6 speed this spring . Going with BTR also .

If you do a lot of track, you should consider upgrading your oil cooler. It's a must for a ring tool.

Everyone should modify his Corvette like He want. I Focus my C5 100% on Track. I dont care about Optic Modification. My Tipps for you, forget about all those HP stuff. The Car have already enough Power, it have a lot other Problems. 1) Breaks. The Stock Breaks on Corvettes are a Nightmare. They are good enough for Street Driving, but on Track, you are not able to drive 1 fast Lap. 2) Cooling, also complete un Trackable. 3) Suspension, specialy The Anti Roll Bar. Sorry for my Bad english, im from Germany.

Before you pull apart the rear end and do a trans teardown, try adjusting the shifter. Also check the bushings for the shifter mount while you are in there for the adjustment. Just an idea to try.

Got my 03Torch Red Z06 in 2016 for 24k turned down offers every time I drive it . Put CCW SP500 rims on it lowered it LG long tube x/pipe high flow cats running through factory titanium exhaust and put a C6 shifter in it it is a blast to drive…..

Excited to see you get that cam installed. Random gripe: when you’re speaking to the camera, why don’t you use that mic you have in the background? Audio would be way better for those sections of the video. Wheels and tires up next for my 2000. Currently on Feal coilovers but researching cam and supporting mods.

Do mechanics no longer soak the Lifter in a tub of oil before installing them?

If you have a clutch, change the clutch fluid. If you dont, you will be changing the master cylinder.

The C5 is a very good car. It's got good power, good looks, and is pretty reliable. It's aged well, instantly identifiable as a Corvette and it should hold it's value very well and may increase for very nice condition, low mileage examples. It's a significantly better car than the C4. The C3 has that sexy Coke bottle shiloette but it's a Flinstones moble compared to the C5.

This only tracks when the next service is due. Can you log the maintenance performed in addition to track when the next service is due? I.e., in 5 years, can I look back and see every valve adjustment/oil change was performed and what notes I had for each of those times i performed the maintenance?
