We drove a junkyard limousine across the USA - What could possibly go wrong? Pt. 1
In this episode we finally start the 4000 mile journey across the United States of America in our 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Limo that we bought from a tow yard. We fixed this car up to make it as reliable as possible and it is ready for the final test! We needed to break this journey into two parts because of how long the video would've been (40 minutes). So subscribe and enable notifications so you don't miss the ABSOLUTELY wild part 2!

Can’t wait! 🤩
@@RustyZipper thank you for supporting! Part 1 will be out on Monday at 9:30! 😁
@@milehighmisfits - I had to laugh because I’m in my 40’s and I wish I did stuff like this in my 20’s! The older you get the more tied down you become. I can barely get a week off in the summer so you guys enjoy this decade (carefully). You have the whole rest of your lives to be a slave to the system i.e. “employment.” Also as you get older your friends move away or get married and you rarely see them. I couldn’t imagine trying to coordinate a week off with 3 friends to road trip now 🍻
@@RustyZipper absolutely agree! Life is already changing up quick, it was hard enough for us to find a week for us all to be free but thankfully we were able to make it work!
What's the point in posting a video if you don't show the hardest part of the job?
@@gorilic1772 there was plenty of other helpful information in the video, plus I showed where the spring goes in. You just have to hit it with your purse a little harder kiddo 😁
@@milehighmisfits Just spent three hours on this so far and am no further along then when I started. No way to take it to someone now. Done with it. I knew the other stuff in the video.
@@milehighmisfits Thank you for what you did post.
I tried to install the flywheel and it doesn't match up at least 2 bolt holes don't match
@@henryvalencia316 so there’s an 8 bolt and a 6 bolt version depending on the year so that could be an issue. If you have the correct flywheel then you may need to keep rotating the flywheel to line it up because they are set to only go on one way. This is to keep the flywheel balanced on the crank. Keep rotating it over and it should line up at some point. If not, then you may have received a flywheel with a manufacturing defect.

I completed this job about 300 miles ago and here's my review. Truck: 2013 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 sport Kit: AMS racing MDS Delete kit. Upgraded to hell cat oil pump. Found broken bolts in both exaust headers and removed with extractor kit. Replaced rusted heat shields on exhaust headers. Replaced bolts that attach exaust pipes to engine heads. The 4x4 requires lowering the front diff to remove the oil pan. I did this by removing a total of 7 different mount bolts for the front diff assm, removing the passenger engine mount bolt, and lifting the engine block about 4-5 inches using a jack and 2x4 with a v-shaped cut under the crankshaft pully. Did mds delete. I highly recommend using the timing chain reference points/markers when setting timing. Not because it makes a mechanical difference but to ensure you are still aligned after installing the guides. Engine runs smooth as butter. No tick. Went with 5w 30 because I live in warm climate. If you live in cooler climate stick with the 5w 20. Spent about 3k in parts and tools. Probably saved myself at least 5k. If you don't have a 4x4 this job is very doable with time and patience. I'm not a mechanic so it probably took me about 5 days total scattered over 3-4 weeks. If you have a 4x4 like me, I personally would recommend paying someone if you can because lowing the front diff adds about 8 tough additional hours and can be risky if you are not careful. Happy and blessed to be back on the road. Good luck fellas and thanks to this channel because I wouldn't have been able to do it without this video.

So on my 2011 1500 with a 5.7 hemi, got the AMS racing MDS delete kit along with a hellcat oil pump i had zero issues, used the included Diablo Predator 2 tuner and disabled the mds, and installed the 91 octane tune, the problem I'm having is now when cruising in general whether it be city streets or highway, I'm now getting a surging of 100-150rpms and when pushing on the throttle there seems to be a good amount of lag in response. Anyone have this issue ? Hemi's are new to me completely different then my 78 F150 LOL

How’d you get the oil pump off without dropping the pan? Great video btw! I’m dropping the same kit in my 2014 ram as we speak. Thanks for the help.
@@davidstewart5866 thank you I appreciate it! Basically what i did is I took out the front half of the bolts from the oil pan and loosened the back ones so I was able to tilt it just slightly. It’s very difficult still to get the pump out but it’s still possible. Be careful to not drop your bolts in the pan!
I am curious about where you get the term "home plate delete punk" from?
The term "home plate" is referring to the intake resonator on the top of the motor because it looks like a home plate in baseball. The puck's job is to eliminate that intake resonator and plug the hole that it connects to. That's where the term comes from.
hell yeah you just got a new subscriber

None of them came with it from factory is my understanding. It was a "Dealer Installed Option" for hundreds of dealership profit potential plus repeat filter sales, instead of the $14 kit that included a filter I got on Amazon and the 15 min of free labor I spent installing. I am a vehicle buyer for a large independent Truck store. I learned this after buying my 09 Ram 1500 Bighorn. Interestingly, I check all Dodge/Rams that I buy, or that come into inventory and only about 1 out of 10 has ever been fitted with a Cabin air filter. Customers really appreciate it when I point this out and send them info on the Amazon kit and an installation video link.
@@EmbeddedJournalist interesting, I didn’t realize it was a dealer installed option! Thanks for the information!

Would the steel Badlands skid plate that comes with capable bumper work with this raptor modular bumper or do you have to have the raptor skid plate?
@@booster222jc Yeah it should work just fine, it just won’t have as much coverage. The hole pattern is the exact same
doesnt the home plate also help keep the block cooler?
