What im finding is child protection manipulate how foster carers and kincarers are living,we definately need all carers to lobby against the department from interference, when theres kincare child protection need to butt out and leave the family to raise the child...grandparents are forced to alienate their own child for their grandchildren so to me thats hypocritial of any system in fact I find it totally abhorrent the whole supervision of visits and the totally demeaning, destructive and often toxic manner in which child protection proticol and procedures, the fostercare system and child protection system is in itself abusive and in my opinion a breach of the human rights convention of both the child and the parents...
Thanks for sharing but just because your mum was using drugs this doesnt mean all mums were who child protection snatch children from, social workers have a bad habit of lying about parents and comitting perjury so they can "win" their cases...you must understand the system is not about protecting children and if they were they would provide more rehabs and home help for families...child protection take victims and I hope you address this part of child protection also...feel free to contact me if you would like the corrupt side of child protection behaviours and how they totally can destroy a family through breaching code of conduct and breaches of duty of care etc...stealing childten is an industry and out of home care, childrens trauma is the commodity as its now privatised with no regulating independent body to keep them honest...great video and I look forward to continued content as we strive for reform of the system...as it is with many it is DCJ is promoting trauma and mental health issues, drug addiction etc and unless you have the cash for a decent lawyer you lose custody...please dont label all mums from cps as drug users as this could give an impression to those children who have been alienated from their parents for many years witbout seeing their parents...not all but as many as id say 70% of cases are for "future risk of harm" which is what they say when they have no evidence and are going on hearsay...childrens courts is not a real judicial court its an arm of child protection which manipulates out comes....❤️
Thank you for sharing❤️Looking forward to hearing more….well done on creating this platform and sharing your story👏
Thank you for the support, appreciate it 🙏
Thank you 🙏. You are an extraordinary young man. This project is so important. I see a great future for you and will watch how this project develops and blossoms with great interest.
Appreciate the amazingly kind words! 🙏
As someone who was a ward of the state as well it blows my mind how all of us are so different in our stories. My real mother and I never had a good relationship, I always just wanted to be away, she didn’t want me and I didn’t want her. She was a heroin addict who was sadly too far into it to be a parent, and she made it clear she didn’t want to be. My foster parents (Mum and Dad) I’m so thankful for, at 26 I still live at home with them and mum is my best friend. They were only supposed to be respite care but we wanted to stay so they fought to keep us. 14 years of being a part of their family and they treat us no different to their own
It’s great that there is successes in the system still! You’ll see in coming episodes we celebrate it and want to take what we can on how to make great outcomes.
Hi I’m a former ward of the state, raised in care all of my life and now I am a foster carer. This is amazing that you are sharing all of this information with us so that we have a better understanding of what this looks like from the inside. I’m so sorry you have had these negative experiences. Thank you for sharing your story I will be watching, so glad this is available.
Hi Kelly, Sounds like you yourself have an amazing story! Don’t be afraid to reach out at any point. Thank you for the kind words, appreciate the support and I’m glad it seems to be helping people in different ways 🙌🏼
Hi my name's Ryan and I have also been through the system and I don't completely agree with what your publishing. As in to relation of your childhood with your mother seems a bit strange, I don't really see how posting your private confidential life on a platform that million of people can see will benifits you at all or help you recover from what has happened, also if these things did happen you wouldn't be really talking about it openly to millions of strangers I suggest you go seek help and grow from this (if it ever happened)
Hey Ryan, Cheers for the message. Understand where you’re coming from but it’s quite the opposite and we have already had people reach out that this has helped. As for the things not happening, sadly it did and there are documents to back it.
Hey, Ryan. Give yourself an uppercut ya clown.
Interesting perspective Ryan, I'm sure most viewing Pauls video would disagree with you. I have just began the process of becoming a foster carer and would like to be as trauma informed as I possibly can be and this video has been so valuable to my learning and growing. Thank you so much Paul for the courage to share your story!
Appreciate your comment and I hope you find value in the series!
