      They're about the same for snow. Elevation is pretty much the same and they are only separated by about 20 miles so most snow storms that come through generally hit both Reno and Carson. Sometimes Reno is hit with more snow and sometimes Carson.

    NO PRO'S--CON'S: lousy street planning, narrow streets, narrow lots. Bad resident street parking, short drive ways, lousy street lighting, over run with apartments, a bed room community so when the economy crashes so will Reno but really bad, People every where,One Freeway poorly planned like the streets, running out of sewage plant, New comers coming here from big cities bring their rude ways, No state tax but city taxes will be rising as cities need money, high rent going up, high home prices that are over priced for locals, mainly low paying jobs, city council little town mind set where as this is not a little city, If Lake Tahoe water ever goes away so will Reno, lack oof police officers, lack of high way patrol, gas prices higher than Carson city?, Lack of lakes, campgrounds and camping unless you drive to California, Trasg from Citues in California is being transported to Nevada, ... In the the last 10 years Reno and Washoe County are going to ruin...By the way I bought my house in Damonte Ranch eight years ago, alll down hill since then. I stay her because this is where my wife's family lives brothers sisters son etc.

    Much respect! The first time I saw lightning strike I saw it underground Six deep feet below the street The sky came crashing down For a second that place was lost in space Then everything went black I left that basement burning And I never went back The second time I saw it strike I saw it at sea It lit up all the fish like rain And rained them down on me For a second that boat was still afloat Then everything went black Left it underwater And I never went back Hey, hey, hey But I like it when that lightning comes Hey, hey, hey Yes I like it a lot Hey, hey, hey Yes, I'm jumping like a jumping jack I'm dancing, screaming, itching, squealing, fevered Feeling hot, hot, hot The third time I saw lightning strike It hit me in bed It threw me around And left me for dead For a second that room was on the moon Then everything went black I left that house on fire And I never went back Hey, hey, hey But I like it when that lightning comes Hey, hey, hey Yes I like it a lot Hey, hey, hey Yes, I'm jumping like a jumping jack Dancing, screaming, itching, squealing, fevered Feeling hot, hot, hot Hot, hot, hot Hot, hot, hot

    I’ve lived in Reno since 1988. And some winters you get practically nothing. But every ten year or so there is a lot of snow. Mid 2000s twelve feet up to the roof line. Early 1990s fifteen feet, I dug a tunnel from the garage door to the street to get outside to play. Some decent years in the 2010s but nothing big to mention. As a high desert it’s always cold and windy but because of natural drought and the planets ever changing climate this area has been getting dryer for the last 2000 years or so. Look on google earth and you will see tons of dry lake beds all over Nevada. Most of Nevada was ancient lake Lahonton . Lush, green and had abundant water. Now it’s just the opposite.

    • @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283
      @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283 3 роки тому

      Hola Jaunito, the main barrio that is sometimes referred to as Reno's little Mexico is the Neil Road Grove street area. It is pretty central just South East of downtown and south of the airport. There are many Latino stores on Wells Avenue, but those also blend with the Midtown area. Here is a list of a few Mexican restaurants with music and events : Senor Tequilas La Fonda Tacos Los Campsinos Tacos Jalisco La Chiquita Carniceria Sambers - known for their menudo. Como Reno es mas pequeno que SF y el Bay, no hay tantas comunidades que son exclusivas Mexicanas. Pero que hay, son buena gente en muchos barios : )

    • @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283
      @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283 3 роки тому

      Yes. It will snow in Reno usually 2 or 3 times a winter. Of course some winters are wetter than others and sometimes we barely get any but it's pretty safe to say that there will be some sort of snow every winter. All the snow from when I made this video a couple of weeks ago is gone and the high temps this week are in the mid 50's and lows at night are down into the 20's.

    What is the washoe lake area like? Is the lake a dustbowl in the summer? Do they restock fish every year? What is it like to live in that area?

    • @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283
      @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283 3 роки тому

      Washoe Lake itself is small and shallow and the water is not pristine like Lake Tahoe. The beaches are sandy, but like Pyramid Lake, there are no trees for shade. Washoe Lake is good for Jet Skiis and for Wind Water Sports as it can get windy often in Washoe Valley. Washoe Valley neighborhood wise - yes can be dusty because of the wind and it is desert with lots of dry dirt and sage brush. There are different parts of Washoe Valley - some sections are mobile homes mostly the North end. More towards the South end or on the West side of old Hwy 395 (Nearer to the base of the Mountains) there are homes priced in the Millions. There is a small section of the valley that has convenience stores, gas etc. I have no idea about fish there. I don't think there is a lot as I have not seen many if any fisherman when I have been there. Pyramid Lake is the place to fish. I hope this helps.

    I'm leaving reno after living here since 93. It's become extremely expensive, over crowded, degraded school system, large homeless population, high suicide and divorce rate. And if you're a believer in Christ like our family, the percentage of believers here is a staggering 2%. Even while making a six figure income, it has become increasingly difficult. After seeing homes in small suburbs of san Antonio in great neighborhoods for half the price and the cost of living 22% lower, we've decided to move. GL to everyone who decides to move here. It's not for us anymore. I forgot to mention construction season is year round...

    How about Spanish springs?

    • @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283
      @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283 4 роки тому

      Spanish Springs is just north of Reno. It is a suburb of the city of Sparks. You pass through it on the way to Pyramid Lake. It's close to moon rocks for off roading. There is the Red Hawk Golf course out there and a sports complex with several soccer/football fields and baseball diamonds. There is a fair bit of new home construction. The farther north you go, there are more homes with larger lots and horse properties. One thing to consider if moving to Spanish Springs is that the main roadway out there is Pyramid Hwy which has stop lights ( and Vista Blvd ) There is no freeway out that way. Still the commute time is relatively short depending on what you're used to. There are restaurants and shopping. Desert landscape, not wooded. Hope this helps :)

    Is Reno a diverse city?

    • @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283
      @renosparkslivingwithlarene5283 4 роки тому

      It is becoming more diverse. What it has to offer is being close to the mountains for outdoor adventures rather than arts. Growing up here, the Casinos were the main industry and it was a town for older people. When gambling became legal in other places Reno had to diversify it's industry and it now has more to offer and is attracting a more diverse population.
