The Halloween Sylvanian trick or treater sets that I've seen are very cute. I'm not sure what the size of this house would be in respect of the regular sized Sylvanians, as it's made for the baby Sylvanians I'm presuming it's a smaller size than the ones for the adults.

I bought my 201 from a shop so I was able to check that she looked okay. With some of the others in this haul I got them online so it was pretty much potluck, however I feel that the quality of them is reasonably good. I know with the last two waves of Fashionistas the faces have been really bad which is pretty sad. I feel that "flaming hot mess" is too kind a term for that dress 😂 I think I will end up rebodying her too, which MTM body did you use for yours? 185 is so lovely, but there is pixilation sadly. I'm really pleased that I got her nonetheless.

​@@MarchPaynesMidlifeDollyCrisis I used Looks doll #12 for the body so she's now curvy. Alternatively you could also use the wheelchair barbie with service dog to make her standard or Looks #15 for petite.

Yes, articulation is definitely better, at least with the Licca bodies you can use the wired arms, even if it doesn't always look quite right. I find the AliExpress Blythe bodies a bit too clunky and robotic, although I like the articulation - I want the best of both worlds, articulation but I don't want to see the joints! Hope you enjoy your new hybrid Licca, she is such a pretty faced doll.

If I ever wear an item of clothing which has the words "good vibes" on it, please rest assured that it's meant sarcastically... unless it's actually a cry for help. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the outfits and shoes from this selection of Fashionistas, only having one which is bad out of five is pretty good going.

I also think it's a shame that the Fashionistas don't come in the zip bags anymore. Sustainability wise, surely it is better to have packaging that can be reused for storage of the doll - and yes even for taking the dolls out in - rather than plastic that has to just be sent for recycling once the doll is out of the box. I like the fact that there are such reasonably priced Barbie dolls out there and that they offer such a wide range of diversity so every child can see themselves in them and feel validated. The articulation bugs me as an adult, but I'm sure children enjoy them and they are pretty sturdy too so they would survive any rough play I presume. And YES, why isn't there ONE site with all the Fashionistas on, I had to search a few different sites to get info on some of these dolls because there didn't seem to be any one site which had information on the complete run. It seems a bit crazy.

Yes, I love her colouring too, that deep rich burgundy feels very right for the autumn season. Sadly with some of the dolls they can have a LOT of hair product in their hair and I found this one particularly bad to get out because of how much of it there was.

So glad you found the video relaxing. I have had these dolls for quite a while and I decided to just get them open in one video. I did think it was Tango Ken who had the same necklace, but that chain seemed a bit chunkier in my head? Maybe it was just a different kind of plastic. I DO have the Barbie and Ken Style set, thanks for the tip on the Barbie outfit from it for 201, I do really love that outfit. I'm not in a rush to swap any bodies but maybe eventually a few of them might get rebodied, that's a project for the future maybe. Like you say the Fashionista bodies are what they are and I pretty much knew what to expect from them by now.

I like the design of the boots but unfortunately her feet don't fit properly in them, so they move around and means she can't stand in them.

I think I have them in white from another doll. I actually don't mind them, they at least fit the doll, which is more than be said for the white boots worn by 185.

You're very nice to refer to it as a "questionable dress" 😂 Have you done anything with it? I was thinking of making a top out of it as it might look less horrible if teamed with a pair of trousers or a skirt. I was so pleasantly surprised with her hair - it was so soft and looks great even straight out of the package.

Thank you. On the whole I'm really pleased with them. I would definitely think about rebodying all the Fashionistas that I have kept but it would be quite expensive and a bit wasteful to do so. Maybe a few will get rebodied at some point though as more articulation would really benefit them.

It's a shame that 161's hair isn't a nicer fibre and more evenly cut. I would like to make more use out of those zip bags, although I do have some with doll clothes in them already. I should at some point go through all my dolly stuff and try and organise it better, I'm sure if everything was more organised I would be able to redress the dolls more often and display them better. Oh and I'm always pleased when someone tells me that I made them laugh 🥰

For $10 she was probably worth it for the clothes and accessories alone. I like the base doll and I like some of the stuff that she comes with but I feel that they should have styled her more creatively to go with her imaginative side. I do have a soft spot for her as she is creative writing focused, which is what I also studied when I was at university, and would definitely like to restyle her one day.

The books are a lovely accessory and I really like the fact that she is creative writing focused, but I would rather they had styled her more accordingly. And those nails are just not my favourite thing.

The quality of these dolls generally I have always found to be very good. Plus their clothes are always so well made. Shame that the new RH dolls have all the gimmicks going on and less articulation, but I still have a lot of the older dolls that I need to unbox so they should keep me busy for a while yet.

I had to wash her hair three times before I was happy and some of the hair still isn't soft. It was difficult because I wanted to preserve her space buns, I knew that if I lost those I would never get them looking the same way again myself, so I couldn't just submerge her whole head in water to try and wash it. Anyway, her hair is much better now - and less of murder weapon. Like you, despite my nit-picking, I do like her, her hair colour is glorious, particularly for autumn.

I also have Scarlet Rose and Berrie Skies to open too, so the three of them will be reunited at some point in the future. Like this one, I didn't intend to get either of them either but realised that I might never get another green skinned doll again so I had to nab Berrie (I already had an Electra) and Scarlet's coat completely sold me on getting her.

She could definitely be a vampire, she is certainly very pallid and has quite an otherworldly face. Maybe vampires is the kind of subject that she enjoys writing about.

I think the rich burgundy colouring of her hair is lovely for autumn. It definitely would have been great if she had had even a simply top underneath the hoodie, but at least it'll make redressing her a bit more fun.

If it were an issue with the doll I would not be happy, but thankfully she is fine. Also the fact that when the glasses are on her you don't notice the black marks on the lenses means that it doesn't really bother me. Considering the fact that she was a doll that I wasn't originally going to get, I actually do really like her, also her colouring really fits well with this time of year.

I'm absolutely fine with her to be honest, but thank you for the advice. She is such a pretty doll that I won't let the little mark on her face bother me, besides I think there is a way to get rid of it but I need to check into it. Chances are that even if I swapped her out for another one because the of the way that they are all packaged, the same thing could happen again with the replacement. Yes, Looks #5 is not easy to get anymore so you did the right thing, I'm glad that the flocking issue isn't too noticeable.

Yes, the shoe/foot situation is really odd. I have her standing at the moment but it's because she is on a stand, it just looks like she is standing on tippy-toes though! I probably shouldn't have bought her, but it was such a surprise to see her there that I couldn't leave her behind.

UA-cam can be a little odd with notifications, I've had it myself too. Glad you're catching up now though, sometimes it's fun to binge watch people's videos on here. I also really love this doll's face-up, particularly the lips which really give me 60s/mod vibes. Also the boots really are something else, really looking forward to getting some frost here so I can take her out in her cloak and get some outdoor pictures with her.

She is very pretty and it's nice that she has the book theme.

I think I wouldn't dislike them as much if they were just the one colour rather than being half burgundy and half silver, it just makes me think that she has metal talons.

Maybe they had different plans originally for Storywood and if the line had continued something more would have come out relating to it. But they took the slime/gimmicky route instead which is kind of sad but at least it saves me money!

Yeah, the sweatshirt is cute and I did enjoy the fact that she came with books too. I was so surprised that they opened, that was pretty awesome.

Part of me thinks I could cut the nails but I'd be worried about ruining the hands, the other option would be make them one colour. For now she's fine, maybe I'll get used to them.

My main gripe is the nails, but she is a pretty doll and I love the fact that she came with books too, plus they open and have text in them which is a bit mindblowing.

I was very surprised about the books, I didn't expect them to open, let alone have text printed in them. I also have Berrie Skies and Rosie Redwood to open at some point, I think I git Rosie cheap too. As I said in the video I think they'd given up on the names at the end there! 😂

I had no idea that not all the babies were so articulated, although I have to admit that I was surprised that this one WAS articulated at all because they are so tiny. Sadly a lot of toy companies have cut back in different areas so I'm not surprised that the Sylvanian Families have as well, particularly in regards to the houses and accessories.

Thank you! Hope you had a great one. I was really surprised about the articulation on the baby cat too - it's shocking considering how tiny they are! Although the romper could be removed, I would imagine that it would be a nightmare to try and get bac on again so I won't be doing it. I agree that Sylvanians are quite tempting, which is probably why I resisted getting any for so long. Oh a Sylvanian Families SHOP! That's quite a niche market? I wonder if it's still there...

Okay, I just checked and sadly the shop closed April 2023 😢 It had been operating for THIRTY years!
