Pōkarekare Ana at Te Puia, Rotorua NZ.
A few days ago, I went to Te Puia in Rotorua, New Zealand. I got a guided tour over their beautiful terrain, where they told us a lot about their amazing culture, wood carving, weaving and their history. I could feel the love and pride flowing out of my guides stop and I was very touched the whole day.
I even got to see 2 kiwi's a mud pool and the amazing Pōhutu geyser.
After the very good dinner, there was a haka show which I enjoyed very much with a lot of tears. The Maōri have a very special place in my heart, so I couldn't be happier to experience these very talented artists as a closure to my 5 week trip to Australia and New Zealand together with Heilung. ✨️🤍.
This was the last song of their set.
I feel very very blessed..

Sorry for not uploading for so long, we have decided to double post these videos now,...

She is a big fan of my Imbolc scented candles and every once in a while she orders a new batch which I am very grateful for. It is still not an extensive tutorial, I am planning to make one during the fall/winter period, as I have more time then, as the Summer festival season has started ...

I want to make my own candles like this and didn’t understand about it the temp or the adding in when it cools thank you
Once candles burn down how do you remove the wax from them?
@randigentile2489 From the crystals you mean?
Extensive tutorial please!
Beautifull...can you reccommend somewhere to buy the dried flowers you use from? Thanks (I live in Spain) x
@@jackiemecheri4418 Thank you! I always go to my local market or tea/herb shops where I live. :)
I would love an extensive tutorial
I’m glad I saw your video! I’m trying to make my own candles but want to have the rocks, herbs and flowers inside and on top of the candle. Is that not suggested to keep the rocks inside of the candle, and does it risk harm of a fire starting if that’s done?
@@MariaEOD Sometimes a rock falls in the candle when I was planning to only have it at the top, so I think if you don't overload the candle with too many rocks and keep it away from the wick, you are totally fine! :)
Great step by step tutorial
Omg what type of music is this, I love it. And what’s the song called ?
The best I ever watched, thank you
@buketyengulalp3789 Ah thank you so much!
Beautiful ❤
This just made my day !! Briltastisch 😂😂😂
How long time wise is "let the candle get almost hard"? Like an hour? 3 hours?
Depends on how big your jar is, but mostly it is around 45 min to an hour :)
💜
What kind of clue is that?
I use normal glue for crafting, wood and paper. I don't use super glue, because that doesn't stick on glass. You need a very tacky thicker glue you can buy at home depot stores (or craft stores).
@@TurasOfficial thank you
I have been told that herbs/flowers etc. will catch on fire, and crystals will explode in candles. What should be done to ensure this doesn’t happen when the candle is lit? I saw that in Australia it is illegal to have candles with items in them that don’t burn away in 5 seconds or less, so for these types of candles you must remove the roses and crystals before lighting. I would really like to make and sell these types of candles in the US, so any tips on doing so without any fire hazards would be greatly appreciated ❤️Thank you - great tutorial!
Hej! I always advise you to remove bigger herbs and crystals before the first burning, just in case. And it is wise to never leave a candle like this out of sight or leave the room while having this lit because you never know. Most of the time the herbs will float in the wax and won't catch fire, but rosebuds for example are bigger so they also float above the wax and they can drift towards a wick and can catch fire. It is a use at own risk situation, people should be very aware of the dangers. I always include a warning sign with clear instructions on how to use a candle like this. Some people don't even lit their candle because they think it's too pretty to be used, but personally I have never had any bad experiences with my candles and whenever I sold one, I only received good feedback. Sometimes, I like to get back to customers and ask them about their experiences so I can learn from it for future candles I make.
So if you want to stay on the safe side, use only small or very little herbs. You can also only put them in the bottom of your candle. That also looks very pretty. Just pour a little amount of wax in a jar, put your herbs of choise in. If you use a glass jar, make sure you can see them against the glass and wait for it to set completely before you pour in the rest of the wax (without herbs). That will give you a very pretty candle as well, and makes for safer use. And then you can always put a few bigger ones on top for decoration, but make sure you let your costumers know to remove them before burning the candle. Goodluck with your journey! ✨️❤️
Beautiful
Thank you!
what glue is that for the candle wick holders
It is glue I bought at a hardware store or you can buy glue at a hobbycraft store. Any glue that sticks to glass works. I prefer mounting glue (if I say it correct :))
im here clapping for you
What are the essential oils and types of crystals do you use?
You can use any crystal you like. I use crystals, fitting to the type of candle I make. Use whatever you find pretty :). And I only use scents that are especially made to use for candles just to be sure it works well.
Great video thanks for showing! I realize if I put my heavier flowers or crystals in before it completely dries, the wax cracks. If I use my heat gun to even it out, my flowers will blow away. What do you suggest I can do to combat this?
Hej! Have you ever tried to let your candle completely dry before you add any flowers or crystals? Then you only heat the wax with the heat gun, and then you can add everything at the same time without any cracks or things blowing away.
@@TurasOfficial yes that's actually my main method since the previous one caused cracking, however the heat gun burns the candle wick a bit so the wick becomes brown instead of white. Any suggestions?
@@ronib7984 I have never tried a heat gun, I am going to start with that soon. But I used to take a clothes pin and with the use of barbeque sticks for meat, I could hang them over my jar. I clip in my bigger items such as crystals and bigger herbs to the clothes pin and add the rest when the wax is more dry. That really helped me because the bigger items wouldn't fall in the candle itself and I could wait a little longer to add the smaller herbs I wanted to add..
I don't know if you understand what I mean, but you can see me do it in this video ua-cam.com/video/18x7x-naYAk/v-deo.html at around 1:11
Can you do a richard parkers fancy tutorial? I look forward to the tonguing tutorial. There are not many good explanations on this. Thanks you both for a great tutorial.
Seconded
Does it burn well with crystals and flowers etc? would the larger things need to be removed before burning?
I always recommend to remove bigger things such as crystals. The flowers will just float in the melting wax and won't cause any harm. Bigger flowers/herbs can always catch fire, so it is advised to keep a close eye on them or remove them just in case :).
Hello! I absolutely love your candles. How long does it take to make a candle roughly please? Wondering how long it takes fir wax to set. I'm going to try in my craft group! 🙏
Hi! It depends on how big the jars are that you use, but for a big candle like this, it can take roughly an hour for the wax to set. Enjoy the crafting! 😀

Thank you so much!
Hi , where can I get the essential oils and ingredients to start making candles. I’m a retiree, doing it as a hobby. Thank you. Your videos are amazing, hoping to follow it step by step.
Hi! I buy my oils online at a local candle shop where they sell oils especially suitable to use in candles as not all essential oils will work. Also for my wax, glasses, wicks and colourings, I shop them all online. For herbs I go to my local herb/tea shops or you can also buy them online. A great way to find glasses/jars, is your local thrift/charity shops. You need to research a lot, before you find the right shops that work for you! Good luck and have fun with the journey :)
Very beautiful ❤
Inderdaad een prachtige locatie. En een mooie avond met Shantalla.
Where do you get your ingredients from in bulk like that?
Hi! I only buy my wax and scents in bulk from online stores I found here in the Netherlands. The rest I buy in stores in my town and for crystals I always go to warehouses spread all over the country. :)
Dont the dried flowers catch fire ? Are you supposed to put another glass inside a glass ?
@@itsmeorwhatever627 Exactly! I always make sure I don't use big herbs. Once the candle is lit, they mostly float in the wax, so as long as they don't come near the wick you are safe. Constant monitoring and never leaving the room when your candle is lit, is very important. I have never had any issues or had any feedback that anything happened.
Hello sir i want to know when we ignite the candle herbs nd dry flower leafs will get start burn thn weird se smell aane nhi lg jaayegi

Brilliant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks for sharing ❤
Absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!! :)
once the candle is burnt, what can you do with the crystals? They can be reused? :)
@@itsmeorwhatever627 I advice to take out the big crystals that are used at the top of the candle when you light them so you can use them. You can always clean crystals when the candle is burned completely and maybe use them again, but I believe that their magic is lost in the process.
@@itsmeorwhatever627 haha no worries!! We are all learning new things every day :)
In my first work I always used Woodglut plans.
Beautiful ✨🤍✨
This is so beautiful!
you can always use a heat gun too! specially for placing larger stones.
At what right temperature should the wax be?
For the scent to be put in or for what purpose would you like to know? 😀
@@TurasOfficial When it's ready to cool and also how long after should I set flowers, herbs and/or crystals or trinkets?
@C.R. Persevering Pisces That really depends on what you want to achieve. If you want your herbs to float in your candle, you can do it fairly quickly. If you only want herbs on top, you should wait a bit longer and then see how they float in/on the wax and if it is set enough for bigger flowers to stay on the surface. It is a bit hard to explain, but it is really trying and see what happens. Sometimes, after pouring a candle, I can check the candle for an hour because I keep coming back to see how set the wax is and how the herbs are reacting with it. What I don't prefer to do myself, but what I see a lot of people doing when they add herbs, is that they first make the candle without, let it set completely and then take a blow torch and only melt the surface again and then stick in the herbs/flowers/crystals of their preference. Then you won't have the problem of anything falling to the bottom of the candle or messing up the surface of it because of air bubbles.
Beautiful, I was wondering where you get your strings? I have a triplett harp I need to add a few
Hi! I go to Troubadour harpen here in the Netherlands if I need a string. They are an amazing company and know a lot about Triplett harps.
So neat!
So by adding dry flowers and stuff, will that not start a fire towards the end of the candle?
No
@@MissTia777 thanx
It will not start a fire, but the herbs can get completely black. If you don't burn your candle all the way to the end, there will be no problem.
Where do you get your dried flowers and crystals from? And how do you know how much oil to add to the wax?
I get my herbs from my local tea shops or online where they sell dried herbs. Same with crystals. I go to wholesale stores in my neighbourhood or online, depends on what I need. There is a calculation you can do which you can probably find online where they tell you how much wax compared to oil you need, but I do it by smell and by feeling. When my wax is below 85 degrees Celsius, I add as much oil as I feel is needed. :)
