How To Build Around Victor Wembanyama | Rob Trejo Jr
Spurs playing Miami in preseason goes back many years, is this the annual Pat Riley Gregg Popovich luncheon?
VW-Sochan-Barnes-Castle-CP3. Bench five is Keldon-Jones-Mamu-Champagnie-Castle (after Vassell comes back)-Wesley. Too many so Jones and Keldon need to be traded for that all star SF.
The young core of the Spurs will be VW-Sochan-Castle. All others are trade pieces to get the #2 scorer for Victor W. Castle is a PG which is why he did not want to be drafted by a team that had an established PG.
What makes you think that this castle Kid's gonna come out here and be a six foot six Stefan curry You're out of your mind straight up.They are building a team If you can't see that and you are about as blind as a bat. Great sonar You can hear, but can't see for shit... Plus Devon is a 20 plus a night score. You need that. Why would you give that up??? For some overpaid bullshit named player...
Castle will start for Vassell who is hurt and cannot be counted on to play 70 games in a season. Tell Castle to fire away and not worry about missing. He can work on his shot in REAL TIME. As for Blake Wesley, he is the future b/u PG and Sixth Man of the Year. Trade Jones and Keldon by February to get the all star SF Victor needs. he is getting anxious.
FIRST! October 7 is the feast of the Most Holy Rosary. Are you Catholic? Were you once Catholic? When are the Spurs going to get their #2 SF scorer to put next to Victor?
Now, White and Walker in Boston 😤
I just want to say... Wemby took home Silver. let's just say.. divergent timeline has gifted us an actual basketball messiah, lol 😂
Manu is THE ONLY player that beat The USA team and won the gold medal in the Olympics. GOLD MEDAL! the team that manu beat had Lebron, Wade, Iverson, Duncan, and Carmelo...
I'm going to say 37 wins.
what is up with KJ I want him to stay and not to give up his #3 cris paul doesnt deserve his number 3 from my point of view. His ass always hated the SPURS,
Go spurs go
It’s a make or break season for several players. I think we’re going to have a really good idea of what the team is going to look like moving forward between now and next year’s draft. BW has done a great job making moves, but his eye for talent is still a question for me.
I believe 42-40 record and make playin tournament. GSG
40-42 play in record next 2 years play offs
This is why the Spurs will make the playoffs, not just the play-in. It's highly likely that CP3 will be extra, extra motivated to be prepared to play his very best this year. He actually played fairly well last year on a mediocre team. He had good stats playing with the second team for portions of many games. Then there is Wemby who will obviously rock. He showed us that in the last month of the last season. Wemby was a highlight machine every game already with very average support. A much improved Wemby combined with a much improved point guard spells major trouble for the competition. With Wemby, Vassell, Sochan and Barnes, CP3 might average 20 assists a game. This unstoppable ability could be dispiriting for some of their opponents.
Pop has been having the most fun the past two years. People forget he enjoys teaching the young guys probably more than he likes competing for a title and the pressure of that every year. He gets to coach
I think the spurs are going to be competitive in every game this year. This won't be a lose by 30 team anymore, we're going to stay legit in every game even if we lose by 15, it will be a tough 15 point win for the other team. We aren't even that young of a team anymore, so we about to be legit
Really excited to see sidy playing with the SA Spurs finally and not the austin ones lol but also looking forward to seeing mamu getting more mins with wemby and also Jeremy's break out season when he finally just gets to ball 💯and not having to worry about pops team tank project 😂
Sochan at PF is too small
He's about average height for a PF in NBA, there are bigger guys, but his height is not his biggest problem. Mainly shooting, with it getting better I see him playing SF more.
To me the most exciting part of this upcoming Season is the bench depth went from unwatchable with no chemistry to one of the deepest bench squads in the NBA. Tre, Castle, Champagnie, KJ, Collins. Last year the bench had 1 defensive minded player in Blake and zero true playmakers (Zach was probably the best playmaker off the bench) and this year we'll have 3 players in Tre, Castle, Champagnie to be defensive focused and our bench now arguably has more playmaking juice than the starting lineup. That hopefully allows KJ and Collins to find the groove they had in the 2022 season where they can can get buckets and not be relentlessly scored on.
It would be a dream for Zach to get really good off the bench so we can trade him for a pick instead of just letting him walk when his deal is done. He really just needs to shoot 40% from three one season and we can totally sell high on him. Bench should be better this year, but starters are also better I hope. You also didn't mention Mamu who I expect to get the Cedi rule this year, and Champagnie/Malakai will get less minutes other than during injury times
Now he’s a spur!!
Here after the draft, do u still think Tre is the starting1? He’s proved himself to be a valuable starting NBA PG, but is that enough? Great shit again Rob GSG
The answer to the above question: NO!
Absolutely 💯 ❤ me some Tim Duncan.nothing but class......
Very good analysis, Rob. There are things that I could nitpick. The emergence of Devin Carter, the PG from Providence is intriguing to me. Also, I was surprised that Tidjane Sulaun didn't get mentioned.
Thank you! I Will have some new episodes coming out next week leading up to the draft. Sulaun got on my radar late he is a top 20 guy for sure for me. I feel he is a post lottery pick as a 2/3 year project. Has good tools just need to see if he has the IQ to cut it on this level is my only gripe.
Went to HS with him, was a swing jv/varsity player his freshman year and was the guy ever since. Was such a dominant scorer through hs and showed it at ND as well. Cool to see him really developing his defense and that was shown with great reps on elite players this year, one of Devin Booker really stood out. His effort/intensity on that end worth his speed and ability to run out will really help him be a multi-contract guy. Really want to see him polish his offensive game, he has the talent just has to build his confidence and feel for the game and not forcing shots
Best Sixth man of all time in nba history
I use to pause GoldenEye 007 just this hear this tune....N64 🎮
Learned that move all in house by tha greatest PF of all time in TIMMY...easy move but when you see it being used an mastered by tha master shhhi...eazy money...
Manu definitely underrated 🔥
😢 te echamos menos, Manú…
It was a pleasure watching Manu back in the day's. PURO PINCHE SPURS! Thank you Manu.
Hopefully we get Topic as some of his passes will remind us of the great Manu
This the game where he got ejected to give Becky her first "head coaching" experience?
Pop understands the game within the game
That wink though 😂
I love Zacharrie Risacher, but I think he may go in the top three. I AM NOT a Rob Dllingham fan. I just do not like his defensive game. If he were taller and if he played defense, I would like him a lot better. But he is 6-1 and plays zero defense. Just say NO to Dillingham.
One of the greats
TRAVEL
Tim was that dude!!
4 o 5 pasos da jejeje
Every time I do a mock draft simulator for the Spurs, Sarr and Risacher are gone at 1&2 and the Rockets go either Clingon, Shepperd or Castle, which always leaves me to take mostly Buzelis at #4 then Castle or Topic and which ever way 5,6&7 plays out, #8 mostly Salaun then Holland or Williams. I just can't see the Spurs taking Dillingham at all, at 6"1 165lbs. He just too small and a defensive liability at his size and getting to the rim and lob game is just not in his game. I say the Spurs gamble on two big wings in Buzelis and Salaun and wait next year for our point guard of the future in Nolan Traore or Dylan Harper or Hugo Gonzalez. We have 4 potential 1st round picks in 2025 and can trade up for any of these points guards who the Spurs may love. Unless the Spurs see Castle or Topic as their point guard of the future, I just don't see the need for a point guard yet. TP didn't come to Duncan right away and I think the talent at guard in 2025 is way better than this year.
He was nice
This is top quality!
i only own one nba jersey and its blake wesleys! i am a notre dame mbb fan and i have watched every spurs game since blake has been in the league and i am so excited for whats to come for blake
YAMM time
The best at his position of all time
He'll get smoked on the perimeter. And in a 7 game series it could be good and devastating w a guy like this depending on matchups
Topic at 13 is wild.
he is not that good Topic...someone will make a mistake when they take him
