    Honestly what you/people say about the cast rings true for almost every FF ever made. There is just not enough narrative for all 6 or 6+ characters. It really boils down to how the cast is as individual characters in look and fighting style. I think 12's cast is pretty damn solid in that sense

    I hated Vaan to the point where the only time I used him was to manipulate the rng of the items in the chests by making him punch himself in the face around 50 times. Loved the rest of game and characters though. It took time to grow on me at 1st but it is one of the best entries in Series. I got some views to say on your X video but I'll save them for when I can be arsed to make a comment on the video.

    this is my personal ranking 5th) INFINITE DARKNESS because for me it's a fairly mediocre film (it's still better than all Paul WS Anderson's films) Eiichiro Hasumi's direction isn't great and neither is the plot, there was no need to make a film passed off as a TV series ( given that there are 4 episodes of 20 minutes each) it didn't excite me one bit. 4th) DEATH ISLAND the people who worked behind it are the same as Vendetta and Infinite Darkness. the problem is that it takes the best of Vendetta and the worst of Infinite Darkness, making a slightly exciting Mix, Eiichiro Hasumi took a step forward, but Makoto Fukami took a step back compared to Vendetta. 3rd ) DEGENERATION it's a nice film where the plot is of a more classic RE, I only put it in the middle of the ranking because it doesn't do more than that, there's no real innovation, despite this, I liked Makoto Kamiya's direction Very. 2nd) VENDETTA Vendetta is one of the best in my opinion because the plot grabs you and you stay glued to the screen, the plot yes, it's the usual RE but still has some little new things, like for example a new virus that they never introduced in the games, it got me given a breath of fresh air, Takanori Tsujimoto's direction is interesting and Makoto Fukami's screenplay was good, unlike Death Island. 1st) DAMNATION Damnation I really, really like it because the characters are not written very WELL!, especially the direction Makoto Kamiya who has made great strides here after Degeneration and the plot is very good.

    The stories and characters in ff games are always more than what meets the eye at first glance. The motivations and roles of the characters change or are revealed as the story progresses. Its fair to think these roles are what they initially present, since the game directly feeds you these bits of character info when you meet them. But once tou get into the story, you realize not everything is what it seems. Which is what makes the plot so compelling. Take balthier being a sky pirate. Its just a cover he uses so he can be a revolutionary. Thats why hes always playing the part, openly telling you its all just an act. And when he gets to know other characters, hell at some point say something like "ahh...another leading man.." indicating that they are also playing a role, or denying their true motivations for their actions. With vaan, its more direct, hes also a revolutionary at heart, who wants to assume the role of a pirate. And balthier recognizes that immediately. So he takes him under his wing. With fran, balthier just wants her to be happy, and thats mirrored with each pair, vaan and penelo, basch and asche. Basche initially seems like hes doing it for the kingdom, but his motivations are all selfish and center on revenge and his feelings for Ashe. They only really come together because misery loves company, and i find the dialogue in this ff is better than any other ff game, hands down. The intrigue drives the plot so well.

    I don't get this comparison with "ubisoft" games. Far Cry 5 is innovative. There is basiclly no "checklist", you just do wathever you like, which happens to make the enemies angry, which results in the progress of the story. What's wrong with FC5? What's wrong with ACV? I got ACV and all the DLCs for 20 or 25, after one year from release (same for FC5 + New Dawn), while botw, which copied the worst of ubisoft, is still over 60, totk over 60, FFVII remake over 60. I am not a fan of Ubisoft, but their games are often far superior.

    I'm about halfway through the game myself and I can safely say that, even with a completionist mindset; this game is a joy. The Ubisoft DNA is definitely concerning at first glance, but once you really get into it, it's great. Definitely leagues better than any modern open world Ubisoft game (bar a few here and there). FF16 was also, much like Rebirth, a blast. Even with all its 'repetitive' side-content. The dialog and character building you get from those little fetchquests in both games are delightful in my eyes. That's what FF has always been about.

Especially since they ultimately didn't end up changing the story at all where it mattered. **SPOILERS** It was one thing tolerating all this extra nonsense in Remake when I thought it might mean that Aerith survives and the story could radically deviate from the original, but then they go and kill her off still regardless. @@vooster I got that from the video. But, again, it's the title. It's very damning against the game as opposed to praising the title for being "near perfect" as the actual video suggests. That's all I'm saying. The title doesn't match the content, which I thought was pretty good.

      It's click-bait but that's not content creators' fault, it's UA-cam algorithm and viewers' human brain. People click if something threatens to piss them off or make them very happy. Nuance and reasonable middle just doesn't attract eyeballs,

      @@therecruitassassin na they ruined the plot by explaining it all the way and then made changes. in the original people didnt know what cloud was wrong with. you got told by the big reveal after falling into the life stream where things resolved. and some bits where added after playing a second time and paying attention. and then there are things like in remake where there is no blood trail and no dead shinra president with the big sword in his back on his table. those were pretty iconic moments, not existing in remake.

    • @therecruitassassin
      @therecruitassassin Місяць тому

      @meggi8048 People still do not know what's wrong with Cloud. The big reveal is yet to come. Veteran fans already know what's wrong with Cloud so it might seem that they are telling too much. But people who're actually new do not have ANY clue as to what the twist of the story is. And I say this because my husband is completely new to this. And he is, simply put, just confused at this point which is exactly what the developers want you feeling at this point. As far as the Masamune in President Shinra's back is concerned, that seems a much poorer telling of the story with much left to be explained. How did it get there? How is the Masamune at Shinra when Sephiroth fell along with it into the Lifestream? Now, however, that's not the case. As I said, less plot holes.

      @@nobodyimportant124 You're being unrealistic. It's a video game first and foremost, unless you want the game to give you everything you want, items being locked behind optional content is NOT a flaw of a game. That is a YOU problem. No weapon is locked from you and if you miss them they are available to buy. If you and others don't want to do the optional content then the consequence is that you miss out on extra items, NONE of which you actually need to finish the main game. I do not have unrealistic views of this game in particular, this common complaint are personal tastes people are labeling as a flaw in a game that gives you consequences in ignoring exploration. something it encourages. Its like complaining that you have too many options to kill or knock out soldiers in a stealth game and calling it a flaw, when said game has just as many options to sneak around and even incentives you to do so. There's no flaw, you just don't want to play the game the way it wants you to.

      @@genorem like I said people like you think just because you like a game it can't have any flaws. There is definitely content in there that's only purpose is to add playtime to the game. Like I said I like the game. But if you think doing the same time consuming tasks in different areas is fun then go ahead. But for me In a game focused around a story I don't want half the game locked behind repetitive tasks and mini games. I don't wanna be burnt out at the last couple locations because they made it a puzzle to navigate the map. I wanna enjoy the cinematic remake that they made not run around helping clone jonnys when it didn't happen I'm the original and is a wacky no story connection side quest with good items behind it I don't wanna do the same recipe for every area. It's the literal reason I haven't finished the game yet despite me loving ff. For you to act like my opinion is trash and invalid just because your a obsessive fan is ridiculous.

    So, let me explain something. If you like the action rpg bullshit that Final Fantasy has become with 13, 15 and 16, if that is the experience you're looking for don't bother playing the rest of the series. From 1987-2009 Final Fantasy was a real rpg, turn based, plot driven, fleshed out world's and characters, real character progression... If what you want is dumbed down simplified Advent children style Final Fantasy, lucky you I guess, that is what Final Fantasy has become. You won't like the old games, just like the people who liked the old games do not like the new ones. Fortunately for you, square doesn't give a shit about the old fans anymore so future Final Fantasy titles will be exactly what you want, dumbed down simplified action rpgs.
