Bluetti AC200L with B300S batteries
Today we cover an undocumented feature of Bluetti's AC200L series solar generator: compatibility with the B300S battery.
This involves a quick firmware upgrade with an extra step in the middle of it, but when completed this allows for B300S batteries to work perfectly and natively with the AC200L solar generator.

Does the AC180 allow pass-through charging from B230?
Just checking in to see if someone has figured out how to active the 48V port yet? I suspect it should not be too hard to spy on the AC200L to D40 communication.
I recently purchased a AC200L (primeday deal) and noticed a difference between it and what's shown here. This is for PV priority mode, the only mode I've tested so far. Instead of +10%, mine is +5%. I'm guessing this is at least partially due to you using a early model. My versions are IOT v9041.06, ARM v2134.05, DSP v2098.15, BMS v1043.11. Also had connected a B230 with BMS v1018.02. There might be other differences, but this is all I've noticed so far. Thank you for making these videos, they are very helpfull. I appreciate the time you put into them.
Nice video! How much power does AC invertor uses by itself? I've heard something about 20wh, which is suspicious because let's say Ecoflow Delta Pro uses about 50wh. Thanks.
Hi is it possible to connect the D40 dc to dc charger to the B80?
Could you possibly post the part number of the ac200L end of that custom cable you made? TT-30 for the other end.
Hi where can I get that Aviation plug I want to put a different end on it to plug into my diesel heater that pulls 14amp on startup and shutdown
Can you hook up a solar panel to this? Which one do you recommend?
Anyone have a video they recommend to better understand what is UPS?
Great round-up. Thanks for the two graphs. My current setup consists of a single 120W Solar panel, connected to the D050S, which feeds into a B230. The result is around 100W, which is what I would get without the D050S. The solar panel provides around 19v. I am thinking of stepping up the 19V to 48V with a converter (@6.xA). So, the setup converter would feed into the D050S 48V at around 6.5A. Any comments/suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for the detailed video, just ordered one of these - 73 VA6CBE
Absolutely phenomenal video! You answered so many of the corner-case questions that I had on the AC2A. I wish more video reviewers took such a solid engineering approach to reviews like you did in this one. Bravo!!
Thank you for this video!
When using my air fryer the AC output display goes from 1500w to 45, is that normal or is the display switching between watts and hz?
Always a good review and Bluetti seem at the cutting edge and solid build. I have this and 2 x B80 batteries. The best feature is that I can independently charge each unit with a 200w solar panel giving a max of 600w. Only have two and to be honest that’s more than adequate. The only thing I don’t get is the 600w inverter. It runs nothing I can think of that runs better DC? I think this is best suited to camping and running a compressor DC/AC fridge and for me an iPad Pro and iPhone. Run the fridge on DC and no need for AC at all.
Dont tip fridges onto their sides
This video was so helpful, thank you! Just ordered AC180 for Hurricane Power outage back ups in Florida (like running my Iceco fridge etc). Weather here will never be cold. Knowing the AC180 needs a base of 32volt In order to go from 8 amps to 10 amps... what would be the best confirguration of Panels to go past the 32 volts and get as many watts from panels as possible but not over shoot the 60 volt limit with too many high volt panels? I am looking at two 100 way N type 16bb solar panels that have VOC 22volts , so if I got 2 of them and put in Series would I would have 44 volts, getting me up and over the 32 volt level for best amps but not going too high in volts to risk hitting the 60 volt limit. but issue is can I safely ever add a 3rd panel to that if I wanted more than 200 watts (these N type 16 bb panels average 90% of their wattage) or technically a 3rd panel would blow me out of the 60 volt limit. Dont know if that's the best set up? Next Option would be to use One N type 16bb 100 watt bifacial panel that has VOC of 35.7, that would trigger the 10am input by being over 32volts on good sunny days... but then I am limited to only 100 watts as 2 of those panels could blow me past the 60 volt limit and in low light could dip below the 32 volts. third option: one 200 watt N type Bi facial panel with VOC 36.4, this would give me enough to go over the 32 volt and not limiting the amps, and maybe could leave room for a 3rd 100 watt panel since the volts arent too close to 60... but this too could dip too low in low light as well. Im lost at what would be the best choice for set up because of this frustrating limit on the AC180 (though I love everything else about it). In an emergency storm situation and the after math being as efficient as possible and squeezing max watts is really important. I am learning as I go with all of this! Any help would be amazing!
Great Video. I'm looking seriously looking at Bluetti trying to find out the information I'm after is very difficult. Where did you find out the max charging current? My circumstances are totally different. I'm looking at the AC300. Reading the manual is confusing. It talks about 3000W max AC in, it refers to a 15A (3600W) cable then says it comes with a 10A cable (2400W) I calculate the current to be 12.5A for 3000W Assuming unity power factor I think 0.9pf and most probably leading as I assume it has a switch mode power supply and they are normally capacitive. Before everyone jumps up and down I live in Australia technically the voltage is 230V in reality it's 240V. The math doesn't add up to their claims. Either the user manual I'm looking at is wrong and they used the US manual and haven't corrected everything or the 3,000W AC in can never be achieved. That is excluding the 2400W DC.
I have had mine for two weeks now and it is a great product. However in Australia at least, the support from BLUETTI is close to non existent. So good luck if you need any assistance.
Can you over panel the charging enhancer? Put 60-70v and 10-15amp on it?
Can I power refrigerator with this device?
thank you Jeff!
Can you leave this plugged into an outlet at all times to be sure it's always ready to go or is that bad for the life of the battery?
I do love the multicooler. One issue that I noticed is that when plugged into my suburban's cigarette lighter port with the provided cable, the unit displays the E1 error (low voltage) and does not allow the compressor to cycle on. When plugged into my 100ah Lifepo4 battery via a 20a fused cigarette outlet, I experience the same error. It's been pretty frustrating relying on solar and AC charging on my trips and having to waste the B70 battery time on the commutes. On my previous two 12v fridges, I had the same issues and the workaround was to change the low voltage protection mode settings. Unfortunately, Bluetti's multicooler does not have the equivalent settings and their support advised that they have no plans to implement them in any future firmware updates. I ordered a Pecron 12v to 24v DC to DC converter to see if wiring that into my 100ah battery box will allow the unit to run with a 24v input. I'm hoping it solves my problem. On a separate note, I have the same issue with the Bluetti AC180T generator. It will not charge via the 100ah Lifepo4 battery or the vehicle's outlet.
the cables to expand are ridiculously unpractical. takes up too much space a vertical system would take less space between the battery and the power station.
I have a EB3A and i use a ecoWorthy 12,8 v 50Ah lifepo4 battery. world well. 250 CAD instead of 700 $ for the B80.
Thank you for this video. I have watched it twice and may need to again. I am the Grandma you referred to. I have one Bluetti SP120W to go with my EP500 BLUETTI PRO. My medusa Cables are labeled PV+ and PV-...can they be hooked up wrong? Is this the correct solar panel for my unit. my solar panel is a portable unit
Superb review, btw
B80 as expansion on eb55/eb70 is something that I’m interested in 🤔
This is so incredibly helpful. I have non-bluetti devices that charge from of intermittent solar and have intermittent draws (12v fridge etc). The meters are always off and this is the best, most accurate description to the problem and solution I've seen. I'll try it will my non-bluetti units and see how it works for me. Thanks a ton. I also have a wacky idea of resetting one at home and using it to reset the other one. haha
Mine won't discharge at all.
from 9:00 to 10:30 is the MOST IMPORTANT SEGMENT. Be sure to pay close attention to the locking tabs and when to unlock them during the upgrade. Thank you Jeff.
Thank you from Ukraine! Your video was very useful to me😇
You have the patience of a Saint! The UPS mode is not well explained in the user manuals, so I have found your explanations very useful. Thank you for sharing.
Hi and thanks for the guide! Can you please tell, what is the max charging speed of extra batteries, when station is connected only to the wall AC? And how are they charging, internal first, then external, or together?
another excellent video
The ARM version on my AC200L is older at v2131.04, and it has stopped communicating with my B300 when I updated the B300 to BMS v1021.10. Do I need v2134.06 in order for it to communicate with the B300? My serial number starts with AC200L2347xxxxxxxxxxx. Do you know if this is an early batch like yours or a later batch? Mine was purchased in December 2023, and is the 240V version.
.06 should be designed for 200L and 300S it shouldnt be required for 300.
Great video, thanks!
Awful low power efficiency in my real life testing for AC200l. Great for running >400w load. Awful for <300w. Effectively reduces the storage capacity by 50% including any attached b300 units.
Glad to see you posting again, Jeff. I was getting a bit worried about you. Always great videos....Thanks!
Bluetti , have one, biggest solar mistake I have ever made….junk! Untrustworthy, incompetent engineering. I could go on, it’s not worth it. Keep recalibrating, have fun!
Great Vid, thanks for the info.
Good stuff. Thanks Jeff!
Simply awesome. Just in time for the “outage season”. Much Appreciated.
Now, if someone would come up with a cable that allows you to plug in an EG4 rack battery (or a whole rack of them) and the AC200L thinks it's a B300 / S! Great review of yet another Bluetti easter egg!
There are ways….
Cool
Have you easedropped on the communication between the AC200L ans D40? Many people want to know how it works.
I've used the b300s with the ac200max with no issues
With no issues except needing another cable?
@alexchernikov6276 well same 1 he used in the video
Just out of the box or did ya do firmware upgrades as explained in the video?
I’m missing one thing in the video. I have standard voltage 220V, but in blackouts after electricity in network turned on it’s 185-195V and my AC200PL turned on pass through, but fridge cannot start. Is there any option to setup minimum voltage from network at minimum 200v to supply to activate pass through?
It seems like Bluetti has more features than Ecoflow
