I learned a variation of it from my jiu jitsu coach, who worked with a lot of old amateur wrestlers that knew hooking techniques like the Sugar Hold. The one I learned was similar in how you trap and isolate the top arm, but then you’d also let the opponent back up just enough to catch the bottom arm, pull it behind their back, and then immediately settle your weight back down on them between the ribs and shoulder to pin. That way you can have one hand free to smash their head in, and they can’t defend at all.

I used to perform the fire dive. I was in the show in Playland Park, Rye, NY and Yonkers State Fair, and Elitch Gardens, Denver, 1988 - 1990. My favorite was doing the comedy acts in the crowd. Wearing a mic but people still couldn't figure out I'm part of the act standing right in front of them yelling, "YO VINNY!"
