A little project I've been working on lately. Modifying a 1980 - 90's Old Hornby Class 91 intercity 225 loco by adding lights, re-wheeling and converting it to DCC control as a trailer car (non powered dummy) for my newly purchased 2022 version of a class 91 driving unit .

      Interesting 🤔 up till now I've only heard of maybe a carriage and some crockery left, possibly at the national railway museum york. If for real, that's fantastic news. I think they were last used for static generation. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Cheers Graham 🙂 👍

    Sorry Graham, just caught up with this. Another great video. Took some fettling converting it into DVT. You really showed the set of skills and patience you have. I never saw the 91s run with 2 pantographs mind Graham. The early running of the 91s, some ran with an HST powercar as a DVT. Theres a few videos of them running like that too. It's your layout, so you can run it, how you like but If its realism your after, then obviously the pantograph on the DVT, would have to go, however, do you really find it that important. Thank you for sharing. Another excellent watch young Sir.

    Great conversion, Graham enjoyed watching the dvt I think there's one on the market for the 225 the one you have I think that goes with the 87 86 and maybe a 90 I think they call that the mk3. I am pretty sure Hornby did do the mk4 dvt for the 91. Thanks for sharing 👍 and happy modelling.

    Hi, very good upgrade on the older class 91 model, I was under the assumption that Ringfield motors ran badly under dcc control, I’m surprised you didn’t fit cab lighting in this model as it adds additional appeal to the loco, great video content as always, thanks for sharing.

    • @WHP1980s
      @WHP1980s 13 днів тому

      @StormmyStormmy I'm not using the ringfield motor, only leaving it installed as weight. I'm just using it as a trailer dummy for my 2022 version. As for cab lights I never really use them even when they are part of a built in lighting package, so I didn't bother as they are never on while the loco is in motion. But that's just me I guess. Thank you for your lovely response Graham, likewise. My humble creation to be, is not as large as your wonderfull layout, but I hope to be able to emulate your quality scenery and design methods. Trying to get my head around DCC whilst waiting to begin. All the best.
