Nightvision whiteout issues. (boar hunting in darkness)
Excuse my slow English and don't watch this video in full screen, the quality comes out quite poor then...
This video describes a problem when using night vision devices on rifles. Don't think it's my device (Pard NV007v) that's causing the issue. Most IR night vision videos I've checked out on UA-cam seem to have more or less of the same whiteout during the shot.
Part one shows some various boar hunting, second part is on the shooting range trying to narrow down the problem.
The conclusion for me is to not use optical magnification when going hunting with this night vision device anymore. I will also do some more testing with a more serious gas deflector (here I'm using a plastic can that happened to fit my suppressor). It's not quite visible in the video but my belief is that it helps to deflect the gases upwards to get rid of them quicker. Also the recoil pattern or what you call it was improved, no more "barrel jumping".
Going thermal is the other more expensive option (no problems with whiteout).
Regarding the pard, IR level (950Nm) was set to level one when using lowest magnification. When using the optical magnification it is sometimes turned up since it requires more light. Also the screen brightness was set to lowest possible except for the first clip. Those are things that can also affect the whiteout..

Pard NV007v with Meopta Optika6 3-18x50, including modification for better FOV
Переглядів 17 тис.2 роки тому
Pard NV007v with the internal 940nm IR lamp. This is the 12mm version which should have 1-4 x digital magnification (the digital magnification is left at 1x through this video). I use this night vision device together with a Meopta optika6 3-18x50. The modification did not improve the FOV at low magnification but it will most certainly help when using a scope with lower magnification levels. Th...
CZ 557 Eclipse Shooting range, testing at 80m

Testing out some ammunition for my new CZ 557 Eclipse in .308win. Really starting to like this rifle and wanted to share since there's not much information to be found on how accurate it is.
Gooodd jobbb meeen
On an AR I mount my IR light way out front on the underside of the handguard. With the IR mounted above the scope you are looking through the flash and smoke of the fired shot.
thank you very much for the video. I use the device only for observation, and I had a big problem with that white dot due to the strength of the illuminator. now I turned the lens backwards like you and now I can use the device completely normally for observation without optics. greeting
Thanks for that video👍👍
hello, may I ask what kind of socket you have for the meopta6

Hello, very good video for the cz 557. If I'm not mistaken, your mother tongue is German. If so, I would like to speak to you in German. I own a cz 557 myself.
I cant take lens out any ideas?
Help. I can't set the crosshairs to be visible in night mode. What should I do? The center of the crosshair is blurred. Meopta 7*50 and 8+56 swarovsky nova. None of them are good, vague.
Thanks for posting. I have been taking a hard look at this. I need a clip on that doesn’t cost 2.5k+
Yes ox
hmm, for me it's a hunting rifle and not a long-range shooting rifle. I've tried shooting the Blaser R93 .308win which I had before up to 600m (~750 yards) with the same scope. My shooting and the accuracy was alright as I see it, 6 shots with a spread of maybe 30 centimeters. but for those distances, I believe, it's more about the scope, ammunition, your shooting abilities, and ballistic calculation skills. I would say that the CZ shoots just as well as the Blaser R93 at 80-150m and would probably perform the same at longer distances. I might go to a 300m shooting range later on and test but that will be more to see what I am capable of with this scope (2-12x zoom). The only disadvantage I see with the CZ557 is the 90 degrees bolt lift (which limits scope selection if you want to keep it low, -you need a slim ocular). Also, the CZ is not as compact as the Blaser R93. But on other hand, I haven't seen any other manufacturer than Blaser that keeps the magazine above the trigger which brings the barrel further back. I should mention that it's not the most nimble rifle if that's what you are looking for and the weight of my CZ was close to 3.5kg compared to the specified 3.2. I'm 1.83m tall and the rifle fits me super but if you are a smaller person this might be a concern.
Is this gun capable for a long range shooting? I see you made nice groups here but what about 700-1000yards? I cant find much about it on the internet.
I saw a video of a guy shooting the varmint version at 800m and he had 5 inch groups so yes
Nice video👍👍👍
