I have a mancave, which I have turned into a home studio. In the studio i have some decent gear, so I thought it was about time I shared it with you. I'm hoping this channel will cover gear reviews, production tips, guitar playing tips and others that I think of as we go!
How I mix VST rock Drums
This video provides an example of how I go about mixing VST drums (in a Rock style). I go through some tips to look out for when programming drums, before moving on to actually mixing each element of the kit. The aim here is to make a well sampled kit sound cohesive and realistic.

Recording guitar: VST vs LOAD box , Which sounds better for high gain?
Переглядів 913 роки тому
Recording guitar: VST vs LOAD box , Which sounds better for high gain? In this video I compare the tones of two amps put through my UAD OX Load box and the SLATE TH-U VST program. I go through some classic Metallica riffs, some chugging and i also rolled back the volume on the guitar to see how they clean up. I will do a reaction video to this one next.
how to get metallica tone with a mesa boogie mark III
Переглядів 9733 роки тому
In this video I show you how to get metallica tone using the Mesa Boogie Mark 3 amp. I could never afford the Mark IIc which is the standard amp for Master of Puppets and Justice for all tones. Neither could I afford the newer Mesa boogie Mark 5:25 which also contains the Mark IIc tones. However, I think that, using the settings that Fleming Rasmussen used on the fabled Metallica notes: www.fwr...

GEAR REVIEW: GIBSON 2019 SEA FOAM GREEN LES PAUL STANDARD - A BLUESY BELTER! In this video I review the 2019 Gibson les Paul standard in Sea Foam Green. Its an odd looker, but i love it. It has been my main stay for blues and hard rock since i bought it. Contrary to what I hear about Les Pauls, this one stays in tune mostly! In addition, the set up from the factory was bang on and I only needed ...

GEAR REVIEW: SCHECTER BANSHEE GT FR -FAST and FURIOUS! My latest purchase, the Schecter GTFR goes under the spotlight for review this week. I look over the main specs of the guitar including feel. The guitar was bought for around £1000. (I had to import it, so that includes import fees etc). Then I demo the guitar sounds straight through my JVM410h Marshall amp.

Chasing the tone series part 1- David Gilmour: 2015 USA BLACK STRATOCASTER -The tools for the tone!
Переглядів 553 роки тому
In this video I go over the specs of my strat from the USA bought in 2015. My main goal in getting this guitar was to try an emulate David Gilmours tone from the Pulse era. In this first part I look at the guitar itself, plus I tell you my pedal chain and amp used to get the tone somewhere close. Parts two and threee I play two solos to Floyd esque tunes to demonstrate the TONE!!!
Gear Review: Joe Satriani Signature Ibanez JS1200 Classy, rare and tone for days!
Переглядів 6183 роки тому
In this video I take a look at my beloved Ibanez JS1200. I bought this off of ebay some 10 years ago. It was imported from Italy, I was scared that I may have bought something that a) wouldnt turn up, or b) would be a fake. But no, ive checked, its the real deal! Hope you enjoy the review, and apologies for my shabby appearance, thats what pain medication does for you!.
Gear Review: Gibson Les Paul Standard 2018 - bluesy and in cobalt blue!
Переглядів 6203 роки тому
A review of my 2018 Gibson LP Standard in Cobalt Blue. Love this guitar and play it every day. It has replacement pickups to give it that extra biite. They are SDuncan Alternative 8 in the bridge and Duncan Jazz in the neck. I demo some of the sounds that you can get from this classy guitar. from clean and jazzy tones to soaring metal and everything in between.

Gear review: BC Rich Shredzilla - MONSTER tone, and fine looks
Great topic. Very behind the times lefty here. Owner of three. One a prototype classical lefty from 1968. Second is a Gretsch hollow body MIJ. Final is a seagull. Nothing younger than 20 years old.
Try a Schecter Reaper FRS. Or any Reaper model in fact. That neck. You'll never look back.
What? No. Gibson is not number 2. As a lefty I hate Gibson as much as they hate lefties. Maybe you can get a LP or SG but that's about it. They've not made a LH thunderbird since 2018 (I think they released a shitty signature one last year) and they don't respond to email.
No G&L on this list? They have a good range of lefty guitars
all 3 of em?
I got The Jackson JS32L Dinky,,,Colbalt Blue
When you discuss ESP Guitars your missing the point; they make everything eclipse models (a Les Paul type of guitar) to the FRX to Stratocasters and more. They make so many different types of guitars that you should have covered them more in depth. Tom Sisson
The problem with this video is that the production team didn’t do their job correctly; if you notice in the video, on the Marshall head, the word Marshall is spelt backwards. So everything in the video is actually backwards from the way it should be. Tom Sisson
Mark III kills
Lefty here!
What no comments? I actually have one of these (yes, in a lefty) I bought it from a retailer in the US and ordered it directly from Ibanez around 2009. It’s been sitting in my closet for years but I feel inspired to play it again. I just want to block off the Floyd Rose because it’s such a pain to work with.
Try a EVIL TWINS by SHECTER🙀👌
the Real reptile eyes have German Floyd in niquel chrome color🧐
For 1000 € have she 👌 New model. she s top to blues and metal extrem to🍀
Excellent Jay.
I suggest you to go a music school 🤣
Before I return this guitar let me cover it in finger prints.
Great video. I have 6 of the 10 brands. When you said you always get a good guitar with Fender, I didn't lol. I got 3 duffer Pro2s last year one after another, all had to go back. I gave up and dug deeper and bought a Suhr. No regrets.
Thanks for the video. Hard to find content on lefty guitars
Your part of this video is left/right reversed, and looks strange.
Do they come standard with case?
AWesome man! very useful! Can you tell me whu there is some models with the inlay at 3 fret and others at 12 fret?? thanks!!
I just got the Shredzilla prophecy Z6 Exotic "Reptile eye" no arch top and it has a bird's eye maple fret board and a Original Floyd Rose with brass block and noiseless springs also 500k linear pots......for the same price so it's a no brainer for me, same price and guitar but with much better parts🤷
Not the original extrem shredzilla model in this video 🧐 the Floyd, normaly is a German Floyd in chrome color🧐 the repères
what was all the hate about this guitar???
Way too modern for traditionalist/purist LP players (Not true to the original 58's, 59,'s, 60's specs because this LP fall into "Standard" catergory), expensive and the dip switch apparently. Then again this is or was the birth of "Modern Category/Collection" for Gibson and LP Standard back to its true specs. To be honest i fancy this guitar. Its like moving forward and innovative. If only the dip switch were easy to access it would be superb.
The eyes 🤣🤣
Beautiful sounds. It works so match with your amp ♥️♥️😍
I play ambidextrously so playing left handed is half of what I do. All my lefties except my cheap acoustic I’ve bought online. As others have pointed out there are dedicated left handed guitar shops
the rumor about slaving the mesa into a marshall is possibly half right. it was said that kirk was the one that did that live and james just used the mesa in it's entirety.
It was only for solos. Source: Flemming.
Jerry’s in Sarasota Florida and Southpaw in Bel-air Texas, near Houston. These two are the only lefty shops I know of.
No doubt I would love to go to Southpaw Guitars and soon. Amazing selection.
that color is sick!
I have two of the banshee GT's and they are Great. Schecter will ne er let u down no matter how much u spend. Whether u spend $400 or $1200 they take care of u
Great demo! Can you also split the neck pickup. or is it just for the bridge?
Yes you can split the neck pickup because both knobs are push pull
🔥👍🏼👍🏼
I've been eyeing this one for a little while now. I think I might pull the trigger on this one. Thanks for this review. Appreciate you taking the time.✊🏽
Nice seeing you bro
Hi To what other guitars would you say the neck resembles?
Hi great question! Difficult to say ,. it's a c shape neck, maybe ltd/ESP and some schecter guitars. The Banshee series in particular.
@@jimmysbasement4829 Thanks man. You have no idea how much your answer helped me.
Ive been playing as a lefty for a lot of years and have a reasonable collection of lefties, they are out there, but not readily available in many cases, I would suggest you just have to keep looking and look to specialist retailers. Ref the comment of try before you buy, as a lefty thats pretty difficult, you just have to accept that. I would say the to get a lefty now the choice is far better across all price ranges than it was in the 70s yes you often have to pay a premium particularly if you buy from the US however the US price is often cheaper than the UK (despite dealers saying otherwise) which can help to offset the shipping costs etc.
Great info thanks for your comments! I agree about buying in from the USA. It's the best way to get the guitar you want.
I own a Prophecy 6 reptile eye and feels wicked light compared to my Les Pauls. Whats your favorite light guitar to play?
Glad you like it they damn nice! My favourite so far for comfort is the ibanez js1200 super light, could throw it around if I wanted! Thanks for watching!
I'm super interested in one of these, the one I'm looking at looks very similar to yours. I'm glad to find an honest review! Cheers!
In second thought, that may BE the guitar I was looking at! Did you get it from xtreme lefty?
@@andrewsmith6898 yes I did! Haha I think they have another of the same model in stock?
a few questions if i may.. Does it have a real Popular top? a German floyd or a Korean 1000? thanks...
It's a burl top actually, quite a nice one. The fr Is 1000 series, likely Korean, but I hear it holds up very well against the German counterpart! Hope that helps.
@@jimmysbasement4829 i Meant burl sorry..Im guessing its a veneer and not a real top...The 1000 is a good trem and Korea is the new Japan in guitar making...I guess they are well priced but for 200$ more id rather get the new Japanese made Jacksons that come with a soft case...
@@RabihSaadguitars I don't think they're veneer top.
@@RabihSaadguitars Japanese Jackson's.. wow, I need to check em out!
@@jimmysbasement4829 yeah there is like 6 models introduced...Its called the MJ series..
Reptile eye 👍🏻

I don't think there's much we could do to broaden the selection at shops or even online. It's such a niche market. I understand why from a business perspective, although some manufacturers offer all models in LHC at no extra cost. I feel your pain though. I would like to have a Jaguar bass. NOPE! Fender only offers the Precision or Jazz basses in LHC.
You have the privilege of being the first commenter on this channel! I agree entirely I'm afraid, It is a niche market Indeed. J
