NYST 1:31.91 s54 E36 BMW New York Safety Track
Spent 3/4 of the day trying to figure out why my ABS wasn't working. Finally got on track for a total of 3 clear laps and here were the results. Happy to get into the 1:31s with just a few sloppy laps. Cant wait to get back to New York Safety Track for a full day.

1:30 definitely see how bad these are? doesn't seem like much play did you have any other symptoms?
Sometimes you will feel it in the steering wheel, also sometimes they will get loud and make noise
@@chrisdelucia2672 Im surprised my bearings are still good at 2700 miles. Did you use the Polaris HD bearings or another brand?I do see alot of play in the upper A arm bushings so swapping soon.
@@travisfeld97 I did use the Polaris HD ones. 2700 miles is a ton for them to last
@@chrisdelucia2672 interesting yeah I only see play in my bushings, but nothing really from the bearing that I can tell
Is this Super ATV tool really necessary or could you just hammer them out?
Stop the damn music bro. We trying to hear yiu
Great explain !!
Thanks!
No problem!
Would most import mechanics have the care and decency to handle the job the same way you did?
I don't think so which is why I do all of my work myself
Quick question, I just got the same exact rzr but 4 seater I was wondering I have 50 miles on it at the moment and when I try to put it in high speed gear the engine makes a weird noise, is that normal or does that mean it’s a bad engine or I need to break it in more?
Make sure you're not shifting from L to H while you are moving. You need to be stopped to change gears
@@chrisdelucia2672yes I am always stopped but it makes the weird noise when I try to step on it so I’m not too sure
The clutch will make a loud banging noise when you first take off @@brandonruiz8589
Does that grill fit a 2012?? If so where can I buy it from??
Does your car has only 1 side? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ If you are going to do a DIY, please, please, I think, it must be a literal follow up.🤷♂️
You want to see the exact same thing twice? You might be the only one that needs to see the other side done and its odd you're proud of it
Better lighting would help tremendously. Good video though
Hey - how do I reset my Audi brake pad sensors after changing FRONT rotors and pads? Don’t I have to activate the brake pads so the car knows that they are much thicker than the old pads? Can I do this without a scan tool?
Great video, thank you!
Maybe it's my phone but the video was kind of dark. Hard to see. Nice video otherwise! Thank you
Can you just work on the rear brake pads without parking brake engaged? Without needing scan tool..?
Yeah you can. Remove the electrical plug then take some wires and attach them to a battery and reverse the motor on the e brake all the way out manually and you're sorted. Might be an idea to use a 9v battery if its your first time so the motor runs a bit slower.
Sweet! Thank you for the help! U should make a channel here :)
I can;'t see what you;'re doing
You can check out this video of me using the device to replace the brake pedal: ua-cam.com/video/8n7VY1RVflw/v-deo.html, it might help a little.
I think I messed up my car 🤦🏻♀️ I removed the caliper and the brake pads fell out but I just pushed it back in and set it down, I didn’t have the 21mm so I put everything back together so I could go buy it the next day, but next morning car wouldn’t turn on and had lights on dash (ecp, airbags, abs, brakes). I drove the car a few feet to put it in the garage and turned it off before going to sleep after I worked on it. Either something stayed on and drained the battery (it’s 5 months old) or there’s an issue in the brake but I can’t figure it out. Car still won’t turn on and lights on dash are still there.
Sounds like the battery is dead, if the battery is under a certain voltage the car wont even attempt to start
@@chrisdelucia2672 update: new battery in yesterday, turned on and everything went away, turned it off then later in the day drove around a bit and got back home and turned it off. Today it won’t start again, there’s a lot of whining from the dashboard like it’s trying to turn on but can’t, brother told me to check starter and fuel pump relays but idk other than that idk what to do or check
Great instructions , Good job 👏 👍 👌
What size are rear rotors ?
Lecrairage est nulle
Sting Ray Two words
Great video, thank you. Just to confirm, you did not attach a battery charger at all on this job while running VCDS?
Do you still need to open the parking brake with VAG COM on a manual transmission with the parking brake disengaged ?
Yes pretty sure process is same for both auto and manual
Thank you for the reminder of why the $590 to get this done at the shop will be worth it for me!
Thank you for the info nice video
I have a question..how you grease these pins? I cant find anything on these pins or audi A5 pins/slide guids..thanks for respond
Bad lighting. Please do something about my guy
Thumbs down for not showing how to actually put the clip back on

Awesome video, Chris! I notice in your "Entire Front/Rear Rotor/Pads Bundle" that the only new screws/bolts were the rotor set screws. Do people re-use the other bolts or do they replace them? Anyone have part numbers? I have been told N91147601 x 4 for the front and N91041702 x 4 for the rear...can you confirm?
I did not replace them but its a good idea to. Some. rotors will come with the screws but i'm not sure if they did. Sorry I don't know the part #
@@chrisdelucia2672 I had a local Audi dealership price out the parts for a front and rear brake job (pads and rotors) and I given these part numbers: N-106-83-01 X 4 (rotor set screws) N-911-476-01 x 4 (front caliper bolts) N-910-417-02 x 2 (rear caliper bolts) N-911-268-01 x 2 (rear caliper bolts) If anyone needs these parts, ECS Tuning has them in stock.
So it is safe to lift car up on jacks stands after disabling the brake like this? The car will not move?
wheel blocks are your friends. I put a brick in front of each wheel.
I have the same brakes used ebc pads and brembo discs but now i have rattle going over any bumps but wont rattle if i apply the brakes any ideas ?
ebc pads might be noisy, or check the clips on each caliper to make sure its apply pressure to the pads
Can't get the front of the wear sensor out. Dang.
What about simply using a 12volt battery with a couple of leads one way opens other closes
if you want to risk screwing it up, you can try that method. The cost of replacing the e-brake mechanism would be 2x more than buying a vag-com from rosstech.
8:30 8:50 Lol, never fails. You try to clean the rotors off first thing, and the next second it’s covered in greasy fingerprints
😂
Where are you?

Hi quick question as I’m going to be trying this service myself in the upcoming weeks, what exactly were you using the C Clamp on the piston for? Is it necessary to have to do this service?
I was using it to push the caliper piston back in, you can also do this with a screw driver before you remove the caliper
what was your suspension setup on this machine? looks really planted around the track.
GC coil overs, -3.7 camber 0 toe front, -2.5 camber .2 degree toe in rear
@@chrisdelucia2672 awesome, thanks for the info and alignment setup. hope to replicate this on my own in the near future.
Great video Chris, thanks for the detailed instructions!
Nice description of the work thanks Leo 🇨🇷

Is there a front and rear pad sensor or just one?
Only 1 on the front
what track is this?
Its not a specific track, just trails in the Salton Sea in California
Hey Chris; could you link the website for the software to release the e brake like you did on the computer and also could you provide a link to purchase the vag com you used? Thank you
Hey so I’m so confused why did u need to go on to the soft ware and do that for the brakes did u need to do it to change the break pads?
The vag-com retracts the electronic parking brake mechanism. If you do not retract it, attempting to remove the brake pads will break the servo which costs $440 for just the part.
Would love to get out there sometime, great views and looks like the riding is awesome.
how do you take off the brake sensor? I cant take apart the junction piece. Please help.
You should be able to just pull it off. It just clips in
Well explained! Good luck with your channel! 👍🏻
Thx!
Hey Chris, Thanks for the detailed video. I'm planning to change mine for the first time. 2011 A5. Just wanna confirm 2 things. I don't have to push the bracket? Does VAG COM do that when turning off E brakes? And do the pads have wear sensors?
The rear does not have wear sensors. You will have to push the caliper piston back in manually, you will do this AFTER you use the vag-com to back off the electronic e brake.
Did you reuse the abutment clip at 9:02, or did you replace it with new one?
I did put a new one on because it came with the pads. If you don't have one you do not have to replace it, the old one will be fine.
@@chrisdelucia2672 Thanks for the quick reply!
0:47 looks like it was over-revved on the downshifts
You can see in the video it never went over 7000rpm and the rev limiter is 7200.
Hey Chris how do I get the program module to open and close the e brake on my 2014 audi A5
You mention putting the axle stand on the "Rear subframe attaches to the unibody of the car"; where would that be? Do you need to remove the whole caliper or does this depend on the model of A4 you have? Good video though. Thanks
Great how-to. Can you please do one which clearly shows where to put the axle stands. thanks.
Its is going to be put on the sub frame where the lower control arm is bolted in
@@chrisdelucia2672 Do you have any photos. It looks like it will slip off. Thanks. I'm a novice
