Water Neutrality
85 Litres per person per day is a purely fictional, unachievable and artificially low water use target.
Readily available local average actual water use data, including from the Berkeley Homes Broadacres development, evidences roughly double the 85 litres target for higher occupancy houses and over treble the target for lower occupancy properties.
The lower this target, the more homes the developers can impose on the village.
CHALLENGE THE TARGET for FEWER AND MORE AFFORDABLE HOMES.

    Also; what's to stop these flow restriction measures being reversed/replaced once the property is occupied?

      Absolutely nothing and indeed they are being removed from new build houses near us. But more difficult in Council owned social housing where removal would probably breach occupancy obligations and risk eviction.

    With the new draft Local Plan allocating 1000+ homes West of Southwater, basically regurgitating Berkeley’s plan, this video is as relevant in 2024 as it was a year ago.

    I remember about 5 years ago seeing a family of deer running across the fields near the a24 roundabout and even the they looked completely lost and terrified, naturally you're removing corridors that are hardwired into their DNA...but its okay if people make millions out of this its fine apparently. The moment we neglect nature is the moment we lose ourselves

    19:07 - A clause in the transfer agreement to block purchasers from objecting to future development is highly unethical. I'm genuinely shocked that such a clause is included. What an absolute abuse of the power that developers have over consumers buying their properties. Shame on Berkeley Homes.

    A video made by nimbys for nimbys. All the people involved in this video is a hypocrite. Southwater is no different to anywhere else in the country where housing development takes place.

      A comment made by an apath for.. attention? All the people involved in this video are literate (unlike you). Everywhere in the country is unique, until development takes place.

      @ricklehurst think you will find every single one of them live in houses built on what was once farmland. Like i said and will continue to say HYPOCRITES

    • @ricklehurst
      @ricklehurst Рік тому

      I won't find that, because it's a) simply not correct & b) irrelevant to the issue of further development. You've clearly either not watched or not understood the video.

      @ricklehurst yes ive watched it and i also know exactly what a nimby is thankyou very much. Look at Southwater in old photographs just after the war if you cant grasp the idea of expansive development

      You're just arguing against yourself now, so I'll leave you to it. Not sure what the motivation for your contrarianism is. ADHD maybe? Berkeley employee? I bet you're a flat earther as well 😆(no need to reply - no one actually cares).

    god forbid they build houses in the middle of a housing crisis

    • @rich17279
      @rich17279 Рік тому

      I guess you’re more worried about developers profits? They can build on brown field sites, which is more difficult and less profitable for them

    • @ricklehurst
      @ricklehurst Рік тому

      You've got a spare £750K+ waiting to splash then have you? If not then unlikely you'll be able to buy one. They're building for profit, not for people.

      They need to build 750,000 homes a year, which is the same as the number of migrants, where's the crisis?

    Great video, the interference and bad design of the new road layout is a joke it's so bad, and the two blocks of flats that look completely out of place, and cutting down hundreds of years old trees is bloody wrong,

      Dee, there are other options instead of ruining countryside. Empty office buildings, brownfield sites, building higher rise in cities where space available etc etc

    • @roycass4157
      @roycass4157 Рік тому

      Horsham has acres of brownfield sites Sat empty for years the developers just want empty fields because it's cheaper to develop..

    As a former resident and a former Southwarer Parish Councillor, I would like to comment all involved with the creation of this excellent, informative video. I hope everyone in Southwater and at HDC lends unequivocal support. This should be rolled out to all Parish Councils in England.
