      @@markpinter8310 It's a fuck ton of work but man it'll be worth it when it's back on the ground. I think I'll have the rear floor out within a week, and then it'll be in before December. It helps to have a plan with a project like this and you just gotta keep on it. People get lazy and or fuck em up and they end back up for sale. I just didn't have it in me to scrap it. It was too cool

    I enjoy watching your videos. I have a 1972 B 100 van. It is a factory air condition van, however, someone stole the evaporator and dash unit. Is the 1976 van air conditioning unit for sale.

      Unfortunately I don't have it. Someone tried to remove it before I got the van and they used a hammer and beat the hell out of it. Looks like they were trying to figure out how to remove it and didn't realize all they had to do was un thread the lines. The coils and housing was beat all to hell. I know... it sucks, such a waste

  • @EverythingsClassicGarage

    Thanks man. Thats what I keep saying to my buddy's. It's just time and metal...I just thought it was too cool to let go. I'll do the same thing with my roached 69 SS EL CAMINO. I don't have tons of money so the only cars I can get are cheap and rotted. So they need to be restored

  • @AtomicReverend
    @AtomicReverend 29 днів тому

    Vantastic, Definitely a labor of love but keep on it you'll get it there. A friend of mine probably 25 years ago when we were fresh out of high school wanted a hot rod and he had bought a rusty 1931 Ford Model A coupe (about the only pre war car he could afford), it was honestly probably better as scrap metal but he worked on that car for probably a year-and-a-half in his free time on the body getting it absolutely perfect and today it is probably one of the nicest traditional /style built hot rods around you would never know it was a rust bucket. Anyways one of the smartest things he said to me when I was horrified by the amount of rust when he first got the car is he said and I quote "it's only metal and time" "I got time and a welder so I will get it there." I live in California so I don't normally see a lot of rust on vintage vehicles but when I do I always think back to that day and I think about "it's only metal, it's fixable." Keep that mentality and you will get it there.

    There is no "frame" it's unibody. So I'm gonna basically put a floor in...I'm switching up my game plan a little but I think it's gonna work

      All my rear suspension mounts in the floor are roached. So I'm basically replacing them with the donor floor...this will be interesting. I've never done anything like this before. It's very labor intensive

    If it’s a 1969 el Camino that year you could get SS options, such as the hood scoop, that is see SS grill, etc. So Yes! It can be an SS el Camino, even if it were a 350 and not a 396 SS. SS options were available with a 350 as well. Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter! You have an el Camino car that’s what matters, those cars are badass!

    I was beginning to think you had given up on this cool van. I was happy I stumbled onto your latest video and see you are working on it! I’ve been working on a 73 Dodge myself the last 4 years. Patched the drivers floor plan and around the rear wheel housings where they tend to rust. Stripped the body down to bare metal. Last couple of years been body working it and doing metal patching bottoms of the side barn doors and one of the back doors. Found where it had been patched in a previous repaint decades ago. Gave it a kick ass custom paint job with several small murals and 70s style graphics, shooting it in flake and candy. She’s turning out. Hope to have it cleared by September. Paint is almost done. Love the fact you’re restoring this LRP. Your weld repair work is fine. I would grind your welds down and then get some short strand fiberglass body filler and swipe it over the seams with that. It will take care of the pinholes and seal up those seams. It’s waterproof too. You can use seam sealer over that if you want. You’re right, you just have to keep chipping away at it until you get it done. Can’t stop and keep working on it till the weather turns cold. Love that you’re back on it and sharing the project with us! 😅

      My man! There you are! I was waiting to hear from you. I'm getting man. This driver side step is beating me down, had to cut it out after welding it in. It got out of square...must of been the GRASS! After that I'm gonna tackle the rear floor. This is getting done before the el Camino...it's fun, just ALOT OF WORK. Not for the faint of heart. Thanks Randy, good to hear from you man. Thanks for the encouragement, I need it on a project like this

My buddy tells me story's of when he was in high school these old cars were EVERYWHERE! He said he was buying Trans Ams and AMX's and all kinds of stuff for 500-900 bucks and chopping roofs and building his cars because he had no money. Now you can barely find them anywhere. Anyway, take it easy man!

    Great great video man, when I was in junior high I was in love with the old tradesmen vans, this was back late 80’s early 90’s of course at that time these were still relatively widely available. Almost bought a shorty before I’d even started driving. Don’t how you are for parts but I’m always looking for stuff and I found another tradesman on Facebook marketplace here in Warren, Michigan maybe good for parts for you it’s a 75’ . I could send the info to you if you so desire The taillights are nice and intact!! Just stumbled on your channels keep up good work👍🏽👍🏽👊🏾

I always look for stuff. Good looking out! I'm glad you enjoy it. The Van videos are coming back soon, I just got side tracked with this new project I got. It's like that sometimes.
