I remember seeing this movie long ago, maybe in early-to-mid 2000s, but I sure didn't remember this scene. The movie was randomly on cable yesterday, and this was the scene that was playing. I stopped to watch because it was Tarantino at the bar. “Why would he be at the bar?” I thought to myself. I pressed the Guide button on the remote to see the movie details, and this was a Robert Rodriguez movie. That makes sense. Those two guys are always good buddies as far as I know. I don’t have much else to add that others haven’t already, yet I didn’t expect there to be a joke like this. This is simply the most Tarantino joke I have ever heard in any of his movies.

I never realized until this movie how good of a straight-man Cheech Marin can play. Tarantino's joke being punctuated by the cuts to Marin's facial expressions absolutely makes this scene.
