Samuel de Saboia: Metaphysical Poetry | MARUANI MERCIER | Brussels
We are pleased to present the debut exhibition of newly represented artist Samuel de Saboia, titled Metaphysical Poetry, inviting audiences on a journey through the realms of philosophy and the intricacies of the human psyche. Each painting holds profound depth and resonance, drawing from both personal experiences and universal themes, weaving a narrative that is emotionally compelling and spiritually transcendent.
At its core, this exhibition is about reclaiming the spaces of the mind where pain once resided. It is a celebration of self-discovery and resilience, a journey towards finding what truly makes us worthy in the eyes of the divine. Each piece in Metaphysical Poetry is imbued with a sense of purpose and intentionality, reflecting de Saboia's commitment to conveying a message that transcends language and logic. His intricate compositions invite viewers to explore the depths of their consciousness and rediscover the power of introspection.
This is not merely a collection of artworks; it is a testament to the transformative power of art itself. It is "a celebration celebration…an ode to self," and a reaffirmation of the universal truths that bind us all together. Divided into six chapters - 'Vision,' 'Movement,' 'Chaos,' 'Texture,' 'Colour,' and 'Harmony' - "This exhibition is a spell, a ritual to rid ourselves of doubt and uncertainty," he writes. "Visions lead to movement, movement leads to chaos, chaos leads to texture, texture leads to colour, colour leads to harmony, harmony takes me home."
Samuel de Saboia (b. 1998, Brazil) is a mixed media artist and creative director known for works that address existential dichotomies such as life and death, pain and pleasure, and virtue and vice. The artist's vibrant, energetic paintings also relay fragments of his narrative as he explores themes including sexuality, migration, and displacement. De Saboia began painting and selling his work online at an early age. In 2019, Brazil’s FAMA Museum mounted de Saboia’s first solo museum exhibition. Many of de Saboia’s notable works feature the prominent outline of a central face or figure tangled amidst various other intricate patterns and shapes. The interconnected layers found throughout de Saboia’s work mimic the complex intersections that permeate and shape our society today.

In the early 1980s, Peter Halley established a distinct visual language consisting of cells, conduits, and prisons that he has continued to explore throughout his career. The seemingly limitless possibilities of these elements are present in Black Light, where interlocking canvases combine to create off-balance, precarious structures. With the predominant use of the colour black, Halley expands...

Well done,,,brilliant ideas with a great technical,,,keep up with all the blessings..
the impression I get as a viewer is one of enjoyment of the colors used but a feeling of confusion and concern... I cant tell what the story is but I feel concern... concern feels somewhat stressful so I feel a bit stressed looking at these. I dont feel inspired to take action about anything I just want to move away. I move away from art that seems to express victim feelings and towards art that feels uplifting and I dont find uplifting here. Hope the artist sees these comments, she seems intelligent... as an artist how do you want your viewer to feel, do you want them to feel inspired or healed/nurtured somehow or do you want them to feel a negative mood/depleted.... its a question for all artists to consider I think... whats our responsibility really? do we need to think about being responsible to humanitys development or do we need to just put anything we want out into the world as in just being self-expressive?
He's a good sales person
Nice works 👍
Great work!
Beautiful work. A gentle soul. Thank you.
"Are you a painter or an artist?" - What's the difference ?
Absolutely gorgeous
Very, very interassing.
I like that he's using modern objects in his still lifes. I notice, too, that removing the labels keeps it from being pop art. I do like pop art, but I kind of feel it's been explored pretty much to its fullest. I agree with him that this approach offers a more timeless feel.
I don't have time to watch this. However, on first glance it is clear that the entire effort is centered around admiration for Morandi's stillife paintings. And in this case I see a giant chasm of abilities in arrangement, design, composition, paint handling, color sense, drawing ability, and any other factor which makes Morandi's works sensitive, charming, valuable, and artistically important by comparison.
Okay, so you won't take the time to hear him out but you _will_ spend the time to ream him out. Got it. By the way, where can we see your creative masterpieces? I'm SURE you must be an unsurpassed artistic genius, and not just another random miserable internet yobbo showing off and being uselessly nasty, right?
Awwwwww, I see you've got no videos to view. WHAT a surprise. C'mon, I want to see the unassailably glorious creative output that affords you the credibility to run your mouth against an artist who's out here taking the chance on showing his work. You're not a frustrated, angry, therapy-needing coward, taking out your issues on the internet are you?
@@EyeLean5280 Helloooo???!! In cased you missed the way art works, you understand it by SEEING it, not by listening to the artist jabber on. Well, I saw his paintings. That tells me everything. As to your other question, yes, my stuff can be seen in various museums and a lot of known collections, but I never sought to make this about me. I must tell you, your snide commentary style is not helping you.
Yes as a conceptual artist he is not bad but he is not good at painting yet. He needs at least another 5 years of daily practice to make it work, even conceptually. Magritte was also not a great painter but he had at least the level where he could make his concepts come alive. The only part of the video I liked was towards the end ( 3:58 ) when he realizes his 'self' is made up from his surroundings. Since he often used the skill of other people to create his art, he is obviously ready to see the liberating part of that. But you can also hide behind it. I wonder if he was subconsciously attracted to Morandi because he desires this poetic identity that is more than the sum of the parts.
very thiebault
Fantastic
🤩🤩🤩
😍😍😍

♥♥♥
fantastic, wonderful, amazing
While the action painters let brushwork be the constructed form and subject, these works while still honoring the painted stroke and process have created their own language of form. Or as you say - Structuring Light. Here color volume has been boldly turned up! These paintings could not be more alive, accomplished, and visually engaging. As you point out, it takes a lifetime. No hype, just Contemporary Masters. Great show!

SUPER ART
wonderful
Amazing 👏
Waaaaooow
Amazing
Karya Super👍❤
actually one of the few abstract work that is not bullshit and avtually looks good
I like this.
He was such a breath of fresh air.
Really pretty.
The balance between the collors, their themes denote an unusual sensitivity that touches the appreciator or owner of his works
Wow, gorgeous, amazing
it is powerful and genuine, the artist is looking for his own language and it's cool.
I paint, you do good work, politicians are just people, I thought Obama was JFK redux, I was wrong I still like him anyway.
Beautiful work!
Bellísimo!!!! Wonderfull👏👏👏🇦🇷
Great video. Miro was somewhere between abstraction and surrealism. It is a fascinating genre.
Seeing a lot of Basquiat in his style
Him and every other artist showing in galleries nowadays. They'll all be forgotten in a few years just like all of the artists who made careers biting Cubism after Picasso.
Very interesting 🤔 I wonder what his Inspirations were
💪🦁✊
The more I look at it, the more I love and appreciate it
Oh, God. Another fake artist who can't draw or paint well. [sigh]
Before you make ridiculous comments like that... you probably need to educate yourself a little more about what's real and fake in the art world ...At this point you're just a troll and not very skillful at it
@@katrostorm3075 - Oh, God. Another fake artist who can't draw or paint well. [sigh]
love the idea but the work leaves me wanting more... maybe that's what it's all about?
Also, the obvious energy and movement in the paintings are almost an excuse for its “blurryness”
There is something about the simplicity and complexity of Miro’s work that brings me to my artistic “knees”. I want to jump into each piece and explore. OMG! has never been more appropriate.
Absolutely stunning and breathtaking!
Wow.
This was an excellent art show :)
Wall ornaments and decorations age.
Lowry next.
Beautiful work, interesting process!!!
Brilliant!!!
Beautiful art. Thanks so much for sharing this moment in Jaclyn's studio!
