(Billy my beautiful cat says “Hi!”)
Peeling garlic can be a slow and tedious task; but it doesn’t have to be! Simply, tap the flat side of your large kitchen knife sharply onto the entire clove and watch the peel fall right off. Super useful when you’re making a recipe which requires lots of garlic, saving you both time and frustration. Wear gloves if you want to avoid garlic-scented fingers and always wash your bare hands in cold water otherwise.
I choose organic garlic whenever I can, to reduce pesticides and herbicides in my home cooking.

Simple hack to supercharge your shop bought yogurts in seconds #yogurtbenefits #healthyfood

No time to make your own yogurts at home? Frustratingly, commercially produced “live” yogurts are pitifully low in beneficial bacteria. This is because they’re only fermented for the minimum time required, in order for the manufacturer to be allowed to call the product “Yogurt”. One rotation of fermentation is just 3-4 hours; but every 3-4 hours beyond this, the friendly bacteria count in the p...

    Hi Emma, thanks for this great tip! Are there any risks of spoilage if leaving the yogurt out for 24 hours?

    • @EmmaVoyseyHealth
      @EmmaVoyseyHealth 6 годин тому

      Hi Rupen! Not in my experience, no. I've left it out as long as two days & it's still been fine. I do the same with soups & stews: if they're covered & they are in a cool room, they will start to ferment, developing friendly bacteria, which will benefit us when we eat them. The thing with leaving yogurt longer than 24 hours, is that when the bacteria in the yogurt has eaten up all the lactose (sugar) it will start to digest itself, lowering the positive bacterial count overall. I always rely on my nose to tell me whether a food is still ok or has gone off!
